10-02-19 | Rays v. A's UNDER 7.5 | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 42 m | Show
Who said you have to go out and pay hundreds of millions of dollars to one player to be successful? Not the Rays and A's, that's for sure. While the Manny Machado and Bryce Harper teams are done for the year, two of the lowest payroll teams in baseball meet tonight in the Wildcard game as the A's host the Rays. Charlie Morton gets the start tonight for the Rays with his 16-6 record and 3.05 ERA. Morton has been very good of late, allowing three runs or fewer in seven of his last eight starts. The A's will counter with Sean Manaea who has started just five games since September 1st and is 4-0 (team is 4-1) with a nifty 1.21 ERA and 0.775 WHIP. Manaea has been great in his five starts, allowing no runs twice, one run twice and two runs in his other start. He's also walked a total of seven compared to his 30 KO's. Tough game to call a winner here, but I do like the UNDER. I expect this to be a pitcher's duel and then hand the game over to two very good bull pens. Take the UNDER. |
10-02-19 | Senators v. Maple Leafs OVER 6 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 26 h 44 m | Show
Toronto always one of the higher scoring teams in the NHL and one of the worst defensive teams too. Ottawa is no slouch when it comes to scoring, so you put these two teams together and it's no surprise the oddsmaker has slapped a 6 or 6.5 total on this game. For me, I see 8 or more goals in this one. Toronto tied for the most points in the preseason and had a +10 goal differential. Can't really rely on preseason numbers, so I'm going by what I know these teams do best and that's score. Opening night, lets stick with what they both do and lets go OVER the total. |
09-30-19 | Bengals v. Steelers UNDER 45.5 | Top | 3-27 | Win | 100 | 18 h 15 m | Show |
One of these teams should come away with their first win of the season here on Monday Night (barring a OT tie). Both Cincinnati and Pittsburgh are both 0-3 S/U to start the season. The Bengals looked great in their opener at Seattle, losing 20-21. The defense held Seattle to 72 yards rushing and 161 yards passing. Since the it's been downhill with a blowout loss at home to San Francisco, 17-41, and then a loss at Buffalo, 17-21. The Bengals have gone UNDER in two of their three games. Pittsburgh opened with a loss at New England, 3-33, then lost at home to Seattle, 26-28 and last week lost at San Francisco, 20-24. They have also gone under in two of their three games. Both teams rank near the bottom of the NFL in both offense and defense. Cincy has the 27th ranked defense and the 18th ranked offense. Pittsburgh is ranked 29th in defense and 30th in offense. For me, I'm looking UNDER here on Monday. The Bengals are 0-4-1 O/U in their last five road games. They are also 2-7-1 O/U the last 10 vs the AFC North. Pittsburgh is 2-5 O/U in their last seven games and now without Big Ben that should even be more magnified. The last 10 meetings between these teams in Pittsburgh has seen these teams go under eight time. Poor matchup here, so I'm sticking just with the UNDER. |
09-29-19 | Patriots v. Bills UNDER 42.5 | 16-10 | Win | 100 | 39 h 39 m | Show
Two undefeated teams matchup here in Buffalo as the Bills take on the defending champion Patriots. The Patriots haven't even been tested at all yet, winning each game very easy. They opened with a 33-3 win over the Steelers, then demolished Miami 43-0 and last week beat the Jets 30-14. They failed to cover the Jets game, but were shutting out New York at the half. They have now outscored their opponents 106-17. Not surprising that the Patriots have the top ranked defense in the league. Buffalo would love to pull the upset here on Sunday and will use their 5th ranked defense to do just that. Buffalo beat the Jets in their opener, 17-16 and then the Giants 28-14 and last week over Cincinnati, 21-17. Both these clubs rank in the top 10 of the league in offense and defense. Personally, I'm going to take the under here and just enjoy this one. I think the Bills defense is good enough to keep the Pats in check here today. Take the UNDER. |
09-26-19 | Eagles v. Packers UNDER 45 | 34-27 | Loss | -100 | 67 h 48 m | Show
Philadelphia looks to rebound from their home loss to the Lions on Sunday with an early turnaround here on Thursday at Green Bay. The Eagles had a chance late to win, but dropped balls played a big part in the Eagles loss. Philly takes to the road for the second time this season. Their first was a road game at Atlanta where they lost 20-24 and went under. That's what I'm looking at here on Thursday, the under. The 3-0 Green Bay Packers have been anything but an offensive juggernaut this year. They have been relying more heavily on their defense holding their three opponents to 16 points or fewer. Meanwhile, the offense has scored 10, 21 and 27 points and they are 0-2-1 O/U on the season. The Packers offense has a high of 335 yards this season, very uncharacteristic of a Aaron Rodgers led team. I'm going to stick with the UNDER here on Thursday. I look for the Packers defense to once again play a big role in this game and not ask as much from Rodgers as year's past. Play the UNDER. |
09-23-19 | Bears v. Redskins UNDER 41 | 31-15 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 59 m | Show
To say the Bears were fortunate to escape Denver with a win is an understatement. After leading the entire game, Denver took a 14-13 lead late in the 4th. Chicago got one last chance with just seconds on the clock and was driving when Trubisky was sacked for what looked like the game ending play. However, a very controversial roughing the passer was called on Denver and allowed play to continue and thus a Chicago field goal with just a few seconds on the clock. The Bears defense might not be as good as last year, but they are still very good. They held Green Bay to 47 yards rushing and Denver to 90. The problem has been the offense. The Bears had just 254 yards against Green Bay and 273 against the Broncos. The Redskins are 0-2 S/U and 1-1 ATS to start the season. They looked great the first half against the Eagles, but it's been downhill since. Last week the Redskins were beaten by Dallas, 21-31. The offense hass struggled to run the ball, with just 47 yards and 28 yards respectively. The loss of RB Derrius Guice has been a big blow. Yes, they have Peterson, but he really doesn't fit into this offense that the Redskins have developed. So don't expect many yards today against this Bears defense. That means Case Keenum will feel the pressure to make things happen and again, I just don't see that. The only good news for the Redskins, they should be able to keep this anemic Bears offense in check too. I'm taking the UNDER here on Monday night. |
09-22-19 | Broncos v. Packers UNDER 43.5 | 16-27 | Win | 100 | 88 h 4 m | Show
The Denver Broncos were the subject of controversy last week after taking a 14-13 late in the 4th over the Bears. Chicago got the benefit of a very controversial roughing the passer call that extended their last second drive and set them up for the game winning field goal with second left in the game. Now Denver has to take its 0-2 S/U and 1-1 ATS mark on the road to undefeated Green Bay. The Packers jumped out to a 21-0 lead over the Minnesota Vikings and had to hold on for the win 21-16. The Packers scored all their points in the first half and then nothing. Both the Packers games have now gone under thanks to a decent defense. Though, the Vikings did rush for 198 yards against them last week. Is there concern for the offense? So far the Packers have scored 31 total points and less than 350 yards in both games. The Broncos Joe Flacco has looked good so far, throwing for 249 yards vs the Raiders and 282 yards against the Bears stingy defense. Today, I like this game under. Both teams have decent defenses and neither offense has shown any kind of explosiveness thus far. I'm taking UNDER. |
09-19-19 | Titans v. Jaguars UNDER 39.5 | 7-20 | Win | 100 | 42 h 29 m | Show
Two teams looking for a big win meetup here on Thursday as the 1-1 S/U Tennessee Titans take on the 0-2 Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags opened the season with a loss to Kansas City, 26-40, and in the process lost their starting QB Nick Foles. Foles had surgery to repair his collarbone after a controversial hit in that game by Chris Jones. Gardner Minshew has taken over now at QB and played very well in that game, going 22-for-25 with 275 yards and two TD's. The timetable for Foles return could be by week 11 vs the Colts. Tennessee is 1-1 S/U & ATS and 1-1 O/U after two weeks. Marcus Mariota is probable with a quad injury. Last week the Titans lost to the Colts, 17-19 as a 3-point favorite. The game went under as both teams had under 300 totals yards of offense. These teams both playing much better defense right now then offense. Because of that, I'm taking the UNDER here on Thursday night. |
09-15-19 | Bears v. Broncos UNDER 40.5 | 16-14 | Win | 100 | 30 h 40 m | Show
Chicago lost their opener and has had plenty of time to stew over the loss with the extra time off. The Chicago defense was outstanding, as we expected. They held the Packers to just 47 yards rushing and 166 yards passing. Still, they lost 3-10. It was the offense that seemed stagnant. The offense had just 46 yards rushing and 208 yards passing with some key turnovers in the red zone. Denver also lost last Monday night and will return on the short week here. The defense wasn't as good as expected, with 259 yards passing allowed and 98 yards rushing. The offense played from behind the entire night and that took them out of their normal rush first game. Still, they had 95 yards rushing and 249 yards passing out of Joe Flacco. For me, this game will be a defensive battle. I don't see the Broncos scoring much against this Bears defense and the the Bears offense will need major improvements. I'm taking the UNDER here on Sunday. |
09-15-19 | Vikings v. Packers UNDER 45 | 16-21 | Win | 100 | 116 h 27 m | Show
Both these clubs opened the season with wins, but what was really impressive was each team's defense. The Vikings beat the Falcons 28-12, but the Falcons scored on a meaningless TD with time running out. The Vikings had the Falcons shutout for a good part of the game. They held Atlanta to 73 yards rushing and 272 yards passing, with most of those passing yards coming in garbage time. The Packers looked very impressive on defense last Thursday in their win over the Bears, 10-3. The offense really only had one good quarter in the 2nd, but that's all they needed because the defense was so good. The Green Bay defense is the best improvement in this year's club. They held a good Bears rushing team to just 46 yards. Today's game, this should be two defenses that will control this game. The team that makes the offensive mistake will likely lose. For me, I'm taking the UNDER. |
09-12-19 | Bucs v. Panthers UNDER 50 | 20-14 | Win | 100 | 53 h 3 m | Show
Both these clubs opened with losses in week one. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the SF 49ers,17-31. The Bucs had issues with turnovers, allowing two pick-6 returns that ended up being the difference in the score. Defensively, the Bucs played well, holding San Fran to 98 yards rushing and 158 yards passing for 256 total yards. Meanwhile, Carolina lost to the Rams, 27-30. This game went over the total, but most of those points came in the 2nd half. Carolina held the Rams to 347 total yards, but had trouble keeping the LA ground game under control with 166 yards. Don't let last week's scores scare you off the under here tonight. Both defenses played well enough to keep the games under. I'm taking this Thursday game UNDER the total. |
09-10-19 | Cardinals v. Rockies OVER 13.5 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -101 | 9 h 48 m | Show |
St Louis and Colorado begin a three-game series tonight at Coors Field. The Cardinals are in 1st place in the NL Central, now 4-games ahead of the Cubs and 6-games in front of Milwaukee. Micheal Wacha will toe the rubber tonight for the redbirds. Wacha is only 5-6 on the season with a 4.89 ERA. Wacha has had a bit of inconsistency this season. The Rockies had high expectations this season, but at 60-84 they are looking toward next year. Chi Chi Gonzalez will get the start today, his 10th of the year. Gonzalez is 0-5 and the Rockies are 0-9 in his starts. Gonzalez has a 6.86 ERA and 1.643 WHIP. He's shown flashes of pitching well, but for the most part he won't be around long tonight. I expect St Louis to hit Gonzalez easily and Colorado always gets their runs at home. This one has OVER written all over it. Take the OVER tonight. |
09-06-19 | Nationals v. Braves UNDER 9 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 24 m | Show
The Atlanta Braves go for their 8th win in a row tonight as they have game two of their series with the Nationals tonight. The Braves took last night's contest 4-2 and tonight will start Dallas Keuchel who is 6-5 on the season with a 3.72 ERA. Keuchel has been even better at home with a 3-1 record and 2.38 ERA. The Nats have lost two straight and three of the last four. Washington will start Pat Corbin. Corbin is 11-6 on the season with a 3.19 ERA. His road record drops to just 4-4 and the ERA rises to 4.61. Both these pitchers can put together great outings and I expect to see a good pitcher's duel here tonight. I'm playing the UNDER. |
09-06-19 | Phillies v. Mets UNDER 8.5 | 4-5 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 14 m | Show
The Philadelphia Phillies have been a good UNDER team of late, going 1-5 O/U in their last six games. The pitching has been solid and tonight's starter Zach Eflin has been good of late. Eflin has just a 8-11 record and 4.45 ERA, but he's allowed just six total runs over his last three starts (16 2/3 innings). The Mets will counter with Steven Marz here tonight. Martz is 9-8 on the season with a 4.07 ERA. However, at home he's been very good with a 6-1 record and 2.05 ERA. This one looks like a low scoring game with Martz at home where's he's most comfortable. I'm taking the UNDER here tonight. |
08-24-19 | Broncos v. Rams UNDER 35.5 | 6-10 | Win | 100 | 33 h 22 m | Show
Week 3 is normally the "Dress Rehearsal" week where starters play all or most of the 1st half. Don't tell that to Rams HC Sean McVay. Sean has taken a different approach to the preseason in that he really has no idea of playing his starters. In a way I can understand this, the season is long enough, why beat them up even more in the preseason. We have seen this with different single plays on other teams throughout the years, but not usually the entire 1st unit of a team. So far in the preseason the Rams have gone under in both games for this very reason. Now they play the Broncos who have also not scored a lot in preseason. The Broncos have new head coach Vic Fangio and Defensive coordinator Joe Woods. Both are finding their way with their new team including new QB Joe Flacco. Expect Flacco to get more playing time tonight, but I doubt we'll see him the whole first half. Drew Lock has been getting the bulk of the time behind center and he's making the typical rookie mistakes. The problem is that Lock injured his thumb in the team's last game and now he looks to be out for an extended period of time. That makes playing Flacco less here maybe even more important as Lock rests that sprained thumb. QB Kevin Hogan might get the most snaps in this game and he was harassed last week by the 49ers, getting sacked five times. I don't expect much from either team here tonight. Play the UNDER and take a nap. |
08-24-19 | Bears v. Colts UNDER 38 | 27-17 | Loss | -112 | 31 h 18 m | Show
Traditionally this is the week we see starters play most or all of the 1st half of the season. That's why they call this week "Dress Rehearsal" week. However, we are seeing a change in that philosophy over the last few years as more and more coaches are opting out of playing starters. That's what you have here today with the Colts coach Frank Reich, who has said that most of his starters WILL NOT play today against the Bears. Reich has made the health of his team a high priority. Therefore, the Bears seem to be taking the same approach here and likely won't play starters more than a series or two if at all. That being said, I'm taking the UNDER here as the 3rd and 4th stringers struggle to make things happen. Play UNDER. |
08-23-19 | Nationals v. Cubs UNDER 8.5 | 9-3 | Loss | -115 | 4 h 38 m | Show
Wrigley field can be a tough place to play, especially when the wind is blowing in from the outfield. That's just what is expected here today with winds around 14-MPH expected to blow in from the outfield. That usually means balls that could have left the yard will be held up. The Nat's Anibal Sanchez will look to take advantage of this wind today. Sanchez is 7-6 on the season with a 3.99 ERA. His counterpart will be Jon Lester. Lester is 10-8 with a 4.30 ERA and is coming off one of his best starts of the season. I'm taking the UNDER here on Friday. The wind will aid these pitchers and that will keep this contest under. |
08-20-19 | Padres v. Reds UNDER 8.5 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 55 m | Show |
One of the best under teams in baseball in this matchup in the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds are 48-70-6 O/U/P on the season. Add to that fact that the Reds have a very good starter on the hill today in the person of Sonny Gray. Gray is only 8-6 on the season, but has a nifty 2.92 ERA. Gray has been red-hot of late, allowing NO runs over his last three starts and just seven total hits (18 innings). He also has 24 KO's, but has allowed 11 free passes. The Padres will counter with Cal Quantrill today. Quantrill is 4-3 and has a decent 3.66 ERA. Quantrill has allowed just five earned runs over his last five starts (28 2/3 innings). So we have two very hot pitchers matching up here and one of the best under teams in baseball in the Reds. I'm taking UNDER in this one. |
08-19-19 | Brewers v. Cardinals UNDER 9.5 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 101 | 8 h 11 m | Show |
Two of the teams battling it out for the NL Central division play tonight as the Cardinals host the Brewers. The Brewers are third right now in the Central with a 64-60 record while the Cardinals sit 2-games ahead of them at 65-57. The Cubs lead the division with a 66-58 record. The Cardinals will start their top winning pitcher tonight in the person of Dakota Hudson. Hudson is 11-6 with a 3.84 ERA. Hudson has allowed just two runs over his last 10 innings (2-starts). The Brewers will counter with Zach Davies who is 8-5 on the season with a 3.74 ERA. Davies hasn't been as good lately, allowing 17 runs over his last three starts (13 innings). Still, Davies has been good overall on the season. I like this game to go UNDER here tonight. Play UNDER. |
08-17-19 | Cowboys v. Rams UNDER 41 | 14-10 | Win | 100 | 57 h 48 m | Show
The Rams obviously not very interested in the preseason as they scored just three-points last week vs the Raiders. Don't expect to see much of starters like Goff, Gurley or Donald. They just don't want to get these guys hurt and they already know what they are capable of doing. What you likely will see here are lots of 3rd and 4th stringers looking for a job come opening day or at least a practice squad spot. The Cowboys are still without Ezekiel Elliot who is holding out in contract negotiations. Not that he would play here either. HC Sean McVay has said he will not play starters in preseason games. That's really all we need to know here. Add to this game that it's being played in Hawaii and the players are likely more interested in hoola hoops and grass skirts then they are in grass on the football field. These teams combined scored 12 points last week. Don't expect much more here. Take the UNDER and get a good nap in. Play UNDER. |
08-16-19 | Dolphins v. Bucs OVER 43 | 14-16 | Loss | -105 | 30 h 18 m | Show
Not too often you see preseason totals in the 40's, but that's what we see here today currently at 43 or 43.5. That should tell you what the oddsmaker think about this game. The reason? Well it likely has something to do with the QB battle between Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen for the Dolphins. Both will want to shine and both will likely get time with the first unit offense. When you couple that against the 2nd, 3rd or 4th string Bucs defense, we could see Miami get lots of points here. In fact, you may even see the first unit offense play the entire first half so that the coaches can properly evaluate both QB's. That is pretty rare for a week 2 of the preseason. That's really All I need to know here in this game. I like the OVER as the Dolphins should put up some decent points. Play OVER. |
08-09-19 | Yankees v. Blue Jays OVER 10.5 | Top | 2-8 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 46 m | Show |
What's the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?" Well, I had these two over yesterday and that was a super easy winner for my clients. Tonight, I'm doing it again. Another over with the big hitting Yankees. The Yankees have won 9-straight games scoring 9 runs or more in five of those and seven runs or more in seven of the nine. J.A. Happ starts today with a 9-6 record and 5.24 ERA. The Jays will counter with Sean Reid-Foley who hasn't performed poorly in his four starts with a 1-2 record and 3.31 ERA. However, Reid-Foley has only face the Royals and Orioles twice each. He hasn't faced a hitting lineup like these Yankees. I look for another Yankees explosion here today. Play the OVER once again. |
08-08-19 | Yankees v. Blue Jays OVER 10.5 | 12-6 | Win | 100 | 7 h 52 m | Show
Yankees running away with the AL East as they have won 8-straight games to improve to 75-39 on the season and a 10-game lead over 2nd place Tampa Bay. The Yankees will start their best today in Domingo German who is 13-2 on the season with a 4.06 ERA. Thing about the Yankees, you don't have to have a great ERA to win games with the bats behind you that they have. Toronto is off a win yesterday over the Rays, 4-3. Thomas Pannone makes just his 6th start of the season tonight. Pannone is 0-3 with a high 9.28 ERA. That's bad for him against this Bronx Bombers battling lineup. Don't expect Pannone to be around long in this one. While German likely won't give up a lot, the Yankees should get this one over the total pretty much by themselves. Play the OVER. |
08-03-19 | Nationals v. Diamondbacks UNDER 9 | 7-18 | Loss | -117 | 12 h 8 m | Show
Washington continues to chase Atlanta in the NL East, seven games back of the Braves. The Nationals will start their Ace today in Stephen Strasburg. Strasburg is 14-4 on the season with a 3.26 ERA. Strasburg has been excellent of late, allowing just one run over his last 13 innings of work. Moreover, he's allowed just four total runs in his last five starts. The Diamondbacks will counter with Robbie Ray tonight. Ray is 9-7 on the season with a 3.91 ERA. Ray has also been very consistent for the D'backs this year, allowing three runs or fewer in four of his last five starts. I don't expect to see many runs in this matchup tonight. I'm taking the UNDER. |
08-03-19 | Reds v. Braves UNDER 8.5 | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 18 m | Show
I'll be looking at the UNDER in this matchup here tonight between the Reds and Braves. The Reds one of the best under teams in baseball with a 39-64-4 O/U/P record. Big news for Reds fans was the acquisition of Trevor Bauer. Bauer makes his first start for the Reds and automatically assumes the role of Ace. Bauer's fiery temper might have played a part in the trade that sent Yasiul Piug to the Tribe. The Braves continue to cruise in the NL East, now 7-games ahead of both Philadelphia and Washington. Dallas Keuchel gets the start today with a 3-4 record and 3.86 ERA. Kuechel has been very consistent in his eight starts, allowing no more than four runs in any start. I like this game under today. We have a very good under team in Cincinnati with a new Ace on the hill today. Play UNDER. |
08-01-19 | Reds v. Braves UNDER 9.5 | Top | 1-4 | Push | 0 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
The Reds and Braves begin their four game set tonight from Atlanta. The Reds took two of three in their series with Pittsburgh, including last night's win, 4-1. The Reds will turn to Anthony Desclafani tonight. Desclafani is 6-5 on the season with a 4.01 ERA. Desclafani has been very good of late, allowing three runs or fewer in each of his last five starts and nine of his last 10 starts. The Braves took two of three in their recent series at Washington. Max Fried will toe the rubber tonight for the Braves. Fried is 11-4 on the season with a 4.28 ERA. Both these pitchers having decent success this season. I like this game to go UNDER tonight. Play UNDER. |
07-31-19 | Pirates v. Reds UNDER 9.5 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 6 h 35 m | Show
The Pittsburgh Pirates finally broke their 9-game losing streak on Tuesday with a win at Cincinnati. The Bucs jumped out to a big lead and never looked back. Still, this club has struggled to a 3-15 record their last 18 games. Dario Agrazal gets the start today for the Bucs with a 2-1 record in his six starts. Agrazal has a nice 3.24 ERA and other than one start has allowed three runs or fewer in the other five outings. The Reds had won six of their last nine games before Tuesday's setback. Good news is that they start their Ace today in Luis Castillo. Castillo is 9-4 on the season with a 2.78 ERA. Castillo got hit hard his last outing, allowing six runs over five innings. Normally consistent, that was Castillo's worst outing of the year. Don't expect this again, he's been very good for the Reds this season. I like today's game to go UNDER the total with two good pitchers on the hill. Play UNDER. |
07-30-19 | Diamondbacks v. Yankees OVER 11 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -114 | 8 h 45 m | Show |
The Yankees salvaged the final game of their four-game series with the Red Sox, taking the fourth game on Sunday, 9-6. The Yankees pitching staff got hit pretty hard, allowing 44 runs over the four-game series. In fact, the Yankees have allowed at least six runs in each of their last eight games. So it's not a far stretch to realize they have gone over in nine straight games. J.A. Happ starts today with a 8-5 record and 5.23 ERA. Happ went only 3 1/3 innings in his last start, allowing six earned runs to the Twins. The Diamondbacks got rocked by the Marlins on Monday, losing 6-11. The Marlins took three of four from the visiting D'Backs. Taylor Clarke starts today for the D'backs. Clarke is 3-3 with a 6.66 ERA ont he season. The D'backs are 7-2-2 Over/Under/Push in his 11 starts this season. The Yankees are one of the best hitting teams and baseball and that doesn't look good here tonight for the visiting D'backs. This one should fly over the total. Play OVER. |
07-26-19 | Winnipeg v. Hamilton UNDER 53 | 15-23 | Win | 100 | 9 h 46 m | Show
Winnipeg puts its perfect record on the line tonight against one of the better CFL teams in Hamilton. Winnipeg is a perfect 5-0 on the season and they play the 4-1 TigerCats tonight. Winnipeg is also 5-0 ATS and they are 2-3 O/U in totals. Hamilton is 4-1 ATS and they are 2-4 O/U in totals. This should be a great game to watch, but tough to call. I'm taking the UNDER here tonight. Hamilton allows just 20 ppg, while Winnipeg allows a league-low 16-points per game. Look for a great defensive battle here tonight. Play the UNDER and enjoy the game. Play UNDER. |

07-25-19 | Yankees v. Red Sox OVER 11 | Top | 3-19 | Win | 100 | 16 h 13 m | Show |
The Yankees took game one of their historic rivalry matchup with the Red Sox on Wednesday, 10-7. The win extended the Yankees win streak to two games while the Red Sox snapped their win streak at 2-games. The Yankees will start Masahiro Tanaka today. Tanaka is 7-5 in his 20 starts with a 4.00 ERA. The Red Sox now trail the Yankees by 12-games in the AL East, but at 56-47 they still are in the run for one of the two Wild Card spots. Rick Porcello will get the start today. Porcello is 8-7 on the season with a lofty 5.61 ERA and 1.464 WHIP. Porcello has been hit hard in his last five starts, allowing 27 runs over 23 innings. The Yankees are one of the best hitting teams in baseball and that doesn't bode well here today for the Red Sox. And with Tanaka not being very consistent, I'm looking to play the OVER here on Thursday. |
07-22-19 | Reds v. Brewers UNDER 9 | 6-5 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 19 m | Show
The Reds have lost five of their last six games and nine of their last 12 games. Today, the Reds begin a series at Milwaukee and will send Sonny Gray to the hill. Gray is only 5-6 in his 19 starts, but has a decent 3.31 ERA and 1.132 WHIP. In fact, Gray has been solid in recent starts, allowing five total runs over his last four starts (27 1/3 innings) with just five walks and 35 KO's. Meanwhile, the Brewers have fallen to second place in the NL Central, 2.5-games back of the Cubs. Chase Anderson takes the ball today for the Brewers. Anderson is 4-2 in his 14 starts this season with a 3.88 ERA. Anderson has also been very good of late, allowing two runs or fewer in each of his last five starts. Both these starters today have been excellent lately and while I don't like a side here, I'm playing the UNDER. |
07-21-19 | Brewers v. Diamondbacks UNDER 9 | 7-4 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 35 m | Show
The Brewers have dropped to 2nd place in the NL Central, trailing the Cubs by 3-games. The Brewers have won two of three in this series with the Diamondbacks. Today, Brandon Woodruff gets the start. Woodruff has been one of the best this year with an 11-3 record in his 19 starts. Woodruff also has a 3.53 ERA. He's been even better than that of late, allowing three total runs over his last three starts (20 1/3 innings). Arizona, as all other NL West teams, are likely playing for a Wild Card spot with the Dodgers way out in front in the division. Arizona will start Alex Young today. Young has only started three games, but all three have been solid. Young has allowed just two earned runs total in those three starts (16 1/3 innings) with six total his, three walks and 12 KO's. If they can continue to get these kind of starts out of Young, he will prove an excellent addition to the starting staff. I'm taking the UNDER here today with two hot pitchers on the mound. Play UNDER. |
07-21-19 | A's v. Twins UNDER 10.5 | Top | 6-7 | Loss | -105 | 4 h 34 m | Show |
The A's conclude their series with the Twins today in Minnesota. Oakland leads 2-1 after winning on Friday and Saturday. All three games have gone UNDER thus far. The A's are just 5.5 games back of Houston in the AL West now. Daniel Mengden starts today for the A's. Mengden is 5-1 with a 3.35 ERA in his seven starts. The A's lost his first start back on May 12th, but since then they are 6-0 in his starts. Mengden is coming off an excellent start, allowing four hits and one run to the Mariners in a 9-2 win. The Twins lead over the Indians has dropped to 3-games as they look to snap this two-game skid to the A's. Michael Pineda is 6-5 and will start today. Pineda has 4.38 ERA, but has been great of late. Pineda has allowed one earned run in each of his last three starts and five of his last six starts. Both pitchers are hot and as this series gone, I go. Play the UNDER. |
07-17-19 | Pirates v. Cardinals UNDER 9 | Top | 5-6 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 46 m | Show |
The Pirates broke their four-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 3-1 win at St Louis. The loss also snapped a 3-game winning streak for the Cardinals. Today's matchup I'll be looking at the UNDER. These clubs went under for the 2nd time in this series with the four runs on Tuesday and the seven runs on Monday. Chris Archer will start today for the Pirates. Archer is only 3-6 on the season with a 5.42 ERA. However, he's pitched much better of late, allowing just nine total runs over his last four starts (20 innings). During that span the Bucs are 3-1 while Archer has no decisions in each. The Cardinals have been an under team this year with a 38-47-7 O/U/P mark. St Louis has now gone under in six straight games. Daniel Poncedeleon starts today for just his fifth time. While he has no record, he does have a nifty 1.25 ERA and has allowed just three total runs over his 21 2/3 innings. In addition, he has eight walks to go with his 23 KO's. I will look once again for the UNDER here early on Wednesday. Play UNDER. |
07-14-19 | Mets v. Marlins UNDER 7 | 6-2 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 46 m | Show
I'll be looking at the under in this contest today. One big reason is that hurler on the hill for the Mets, Jacob deGrom. deGrom is only 4-7 on the season, but he's been so consistent. In his last nine starts he's allowed two runs or fewer in eight starts and three runs in the other start. deGrom has a nice 2.89 ERA on the road this season. The Marlins will counter with Sandy Alcantara. Alcantara is only 4-8 this year, but he's got a decent 3.82 ERA and he's also allowed two runs or fewer in six of his last nine starts. Don't expect the Marlins to get much of anything here today. If we can get a good start out of Alcantara, this one will go UNDER. |
07-14-19 | Twins v. Indians UNDER 8.5 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 3 h 45 m | Show |
The Indians showing they might not be good enough to catch the Twins in the AL Central. They Indians have lost the first two games in this critical series, scoring just two runs yesterday and three runs on Friday. Shane Bieber will start today for the Tribe, with a 8-3 record and 3.43 ERA this season. Bieber has been excellent of late, allowing two runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts. The Twins turn to Jose Berrios today. Berrios is 8-5 in his 18 starts. But what impresses me even more is that he's had 14 quality starts in his 18 outings. Berrios has a nifty 3.00 ERA and hasn't allowed more than 3-runs in his last eight starts. I love this one to go UNDER here on Sunday. Play UNDER. |
07-05-19 | Winnipeg v. Ottawa UNDER 52.5 | 29-14 | Win | 100 | 6 h 2 m | Show
Winnipeg looking to remain unbeaten in the CFL after a 2-0 start. The Blue Bombers opened the season with a win at British Columbia, 33-23. Then in week 2 they won at home over Edmonton, 28-21. The defense has been very good, allowing 23 and under both games thus far. They allowed just four rushing yards in the win over BC. Ottawa has also started the season 2-0. The Redblacks opened with a win at Calgary, 32-28 and then beat Saskatchewan on the road, 44-41. Winnipeg is 0-5 O/U in their last five games vs a team with a winning record and 2-5 O/U their last seven games overall. Ottawa usually starts slowly, with eight of their last nine July games going UNDER. They are also 9-20 O/U their last 29 games following an ATS loss. Both these teams are good defensive clubs. I'm taking the UNDER. |
06-27-19 | Diamondbacks v. Giants OVER 8.5 | Top | 5-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
I'm looking at the OVER in this matchup tonight. Both these clubs have been over teams this year with the D'backs at 41-37-4 O/U/P and the Giants at 40-35-4 O/U/P. The D'backs do it with an offense that averages 5.2 runs per game while allowing 4.6 runs. The Giants only average 3.9 runs, but allow a whopping 5.1 runs per game. The D'backs will start Lefty Alex Young tonight. Young was brought up from Triple-A Reno. Young has a 6.09 ERA in his 20 appearances at Reno this year. The Giants will start Tyler Beede who has a 1-1 record but a lofty 7.08 REA and 1.786 WHIP. Two horrible pitchers here tonight along with two suspect bullpens. I really like this one go to OVER tonight. Play the OVER. |
06-24-19 | White Sox v. Red Sox UNDER 9 | 5-6 | Loss | -109 | 8 h 25 m | Show
Two teams with losing streaks enter Monday's opening game of their series as the Red Sox host the White Sox. Boston lost the last two games of their three-game series to the Blue Jays, including Sunday's 1-6 setbacks. Eduardo Rodriguez starts today for Boston. Rodriguez is 8-4 in his 15 starts with a 4.71 ERA. While Rodriguez has a nice record, he's been inconsistent on his runs as he allows four or more one game and then one or two the next. The White Sox lost at Texas on Sunday, 4-7. They will turn to their Ace today to try and get back to winning ways. Lucas Giolito is 10-2 but got hit hard in his last outing by allowing six runs over 4 1/3 innings. That was by far his worst outing of the season. I look for Giolito to rebound today and both of these teams to struggle scoring runs. I'm taking the UNDER. |
06-17-19 | Astros v. Reds UNDER 8.5 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 18 h 33 m | Show
The Cincinnati Red exploded on Sunday to beat the Texas Rangers, 11-3. It was a rare OVER for the Reds who have gone under in 11 straight prior to Sunday's OVER. Still, this is a very good UNDER team and that's what I'm looking at here today as they faced one of the best staffs in baseball. The Astros did get shelled on Sunday by the Blue Jays, 0-12. A rare home blowout for the 1st place Astros. Houston will turn to Wade Miley today. Miley is 6-3 in 14 starts with a very good 3.14 ERA and 1.158 WHIP. Miley held the Orioles to no runs over six innings in his last start. Miley has also allowed three runs or fewer in every start this year but one (4 runs). The Reds start their Ace, Luis Castillo. Castillo is 6-1 in his 14 starts with a 2.31 ERA. Castillo has allowed one run in each of his last two starts. Two excellent starters here today along with a very good UNDER Reds team. I'm taking this one UNDER. |
06-16-19 | Rangers v. Reds UNDER 9 | Top | 3-11 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 16 m | Show |
The Rangers ran their win streak to 2-games with a 4-3 win over the Reds on Saturday. The Reds have been a very good under team this year, now a 23-43-2 O/U on the season. The Reds have seen their last 11 games go under the total. Sonny Gray will start today for the Reds with a 2-5 record but a fairly good 3.51 ERA. Gray has seen his last two games go under the total as he's allowed three and two runs in those two games. The Rangers will counter with Ariel Juarado, who is 3-1 on the season with a 3.77 ERA and 1.361 WHIP. Juarado has only five starts, but has not allowed more than three runs in any of hist last four. I'm sticking with the UNDER here early on Sunday. The Reds have been a great under team and I see that continuing here today. PLAY the UNDER. |
06-15-19 | Winnipeg v. BC UNDER 52 | 33-23 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 27 m | Show
The CFL kicks off week 1 this weekend! Not a lot to go off of, but looking back to last season and how these teams historically have done, I have found the UNDER to be my play here tonight. Both these teams have been good under plays in season's past. Winnipeg is 1-4 O/U in their last four games from last season and 1-5 O/U their last six vs the West. BC is 0-4 O/U in their last four season openers and 1-5 O/U in their last six June games. In addition, the Lions are 2-6-1 O/U/P in their last nine homes games. Early on, I'm looking at an under here on Saturday. Play UNDER. |
06-12-19 | Brewers v. Astros UNDER 7.5 | 6-3 | Loss | -109 | 8 h 49 m | Show
This IL game looks to be the matchup of the day as a pair of their respective league's best pitchers will matchup here. The Brewers will start Brandon Woodruff today who is 8-1 with a 3.87 ERA and 1.170 WHIP. Woodruff has allowed three runs or fewer in seven of his last eight start. The Astros will counter with their staff Ace in Justin Verlander. Verlander is 9-2 with a 2.40 ERA and 0.747 WHIP. Verlander is a strikeout machine who also has allowed three runs or fewer in six straight outings. If you like pitching, then this is the game of the day. I'm taking the UNDER and enjoying the show. |
06-02-19 | Warriors v. Raptors UNDER 215 | 109-104 | Win | 100 | 55 h 1 m | Show
Game 2 of the NBA finals from Toronto on Saturday. The Warriors lost game one at Toronto, 109-118. Toronto shot 51% in game one, their highest shooting percentage since their opening playoff game. The Warriors were really never in this game as the Raptors led early and held onto the lead. Game two here on Saturday I look for the Raptors shooting to cool down drastically. Both teams are off their rest now and expected to slow down the pace here in game three. I'm taking the UNDER. |
06-01-19 | Royals v. Rangers OVER 10.5 | 2-6 | Loss | -113 | 4 h 20 m | Show
Both these teams are looking for better results after poor starts. The Royals are just 19-38 on the season while the Rangers are a bit better at 28-27. The problem with both clubs has been pitching, as the Royals allow an average of 5.2 runs per game and the Rangers allow 5.3 runs per outing. The Royals start Homer Bailey today. Bailey is one of those struggling hurlers with a 4-5 record in his 11 starts and a 5.79 ERA and 1.481 WHIP. Bailey has allowed 11 runs over his last 10 1/3 innings of work with seven walks. The Rangers turn to Lance Lynn. Lynn is 6-4 on the season with a 4.65 ERA and 1.389 WHIP. Lynn has been decent on the season but is coming off a loss at Seattle where he allowed three runs over six innings. Can't put much trust in either of these pitching staffs. I'm going with the OVER here today. |
06-01-19 | Indians v. White Sox OVER 10 | 5-2 | Loss | -130 | 2 h 26 m | Show
The Indians look to snap a 2-game losing streak today at Chicago. The Indians lost to the White Sox both on Thursday and Friday by a combined 5-16 margin. The Indians have also gone over in five of their last six games, mainly because of poor pitching. Jefry Rodriguez starts today for the Tribe. Rodriguez is 1-5 with a 4.99 ERA and 1.487 WHIP on the season. Rodriguez has allowed 14 runs over his last 15 innings with eight walks. Meanwhile, the White Sox have won five-straight games. They will start Ivan Nova today. Nova is 3-4 in his 11 starts with a 6.52 ERA and 1.719 WHIP. Both these pitchers today have struggled and I expect a high scoring game. Play the OVER. |
05-31-19 | Blue Jays v. Rockies OVER 11.5 | 6-13 | Win | 100 | 8 h 33 m | Show
It's not unusual to see the Colorado Rockies as a good over team. This season the Rockies are 30-22-3 O/U/P. They average 5.4 runs per game and allow 5.3 runs per game. The Toronto Blue Jays have had their issues with pitching, allowing 4.7 runs per game and now make a rare trip to play in the high altitude of Coors Stadium in Denver. Edwin Jackson will start for the Jays with a 0-2 record in his three starts and a high 9.00 ERA and 1.643 WHIP. Jackson has allowed 7, 5 and 2 earned runs in his three starts. In fact, his last two starts the opposing teams have totaled 31 runs. The Rockies will start German Marquez today. Marquez is 5-2 in his 12 starts with a 3.56 ERA and 1.123 WHIP. At home those numbers go up to 5.40 ERA and 1.600 in six starts. Jays will find Coors a tough place, especially with a struggling Jackson on the hill. Expect a lot of scoring in this one tonight. Play OVER. |
05-30-19 | Warriors v. Raptors UNDER 213.5 | 109-118 | Loss | -103 | 11 h 51 m | Show
NBA had a nice little break as the Finals begin game one tonight from Toronto. The Raptors lost the first two games of their series with the Bucks and then won four straight and covered those last four. They also went under in the last two games, holding the Bucks to 99 and 94 points. And that's really been the M.O of the Raptors, they like to slow things down and let their great guard play take over. The Warriors swept the Portland Trailblazers after a tough series with the Rockets. Surprisingly, the Warriors can play unders too, having gone under in three of their last six playoff games. Kevin Durant is still out with a calf injury, but DeMarcus Cousins is expected to play sometime in this series and is questionable tonight. Should be a very good series, but tonight I like these rested teams to play some very good defense. Take the UNDER. |
05-27-19 | Brewers v. Twins UNDER 9.5 | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 57 m | Show
Two top tier teams matchup here today as the Twins take on the Brewers. Milwaukee snapped a two-game losing streak with a win at Philly yesterday, 9-1. The Brewers will send Gio Gonzalez to the hill today. Gonzalez is 2-1 in his five starts with a 2.39 ERA and 1.101 WHIP. Gonzalez has been very good in his five starts, allowing two runs or less in four outings and three runs in the other. Minnesota brings a 6-game win streak into today's contest. The Twins held the White Sox to just one run over their last two games. Michael Pineda starts today for the Twins. Pineda is 4-3 in his 10 starts with a 5.43 ERA and 1.302 WHIP. Pineda has been very consistent of late, allowing exactly three runs in each of his last four starts. I like the UNDER here today in this matchup. Play UNDER. |
05-24-19 | Rays v. Indians UNDER 7.5 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 18 h 37 m | Show
Tampa Bay pushed back Blake Snell to today's contest and started Yarbourough in his place on Thursday. The Rays easily beat the Indians in game one of their four-game series, 7-2. Snell will get the start today in game two. Snell is only 3-4 in his nine starts, but has a solid 3.31 ERA and 1.000 WHIP. Snell has been very good of late, allowing just three total runs over his last three starts (17 2/3 innings). The Indians look to snap their 4-game losing streak here this evening behind Shane Bieber. Beiber is 3-2 in his nine starts with a 3.18 ERA and 0.988 WHIP. Beiber is coming off his best start of the season, a complete game shutout of the Orioles, scattering five hits over nine innings and striking out 15! Both these pitchers look to be in a groove. I like the UNDER tonight. |
05-22-19 | Dodgers v. Rays UNDER 8.5 | 1-8 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 23 m | Show
The Dodgers improved to 32-17 on the season after beating the Rays on Tuesday, 7-3. The Rays dropped to 27-18 with the loss. Both these teams have excellent pitching staffs and that will be on display here again on Wednesday. The Rays will start their reliever Ryan Stanek, something they have done all season. Stanek has started 12 games this season and usually goes one or two innings before turning the ball over to long relievers. The Rays are now 8-4 when they have started Stanek. Tonight I will be looking at the UNDER. The Rays have gone UNDER in two straight with Stanek starting. The Dodgers will start Rich Hill. Hill is 1-1 in his four starts with a 3.00 ERA and 1.048 WHIP. Hill is off a 6-inning performance at Cincinnati where he allowed just two hits and no runs with 10 KO's. I like both these pitchers as Stanek usually keeps teams off the scoreboard for at least the first few innings and Hill has been solid in his four starts. Play the UNDER tonight. |
05-21-19 | Bucks v. Raptors UNDER 217.5 | 102-120 | Loss | -104 | 9 h 29 m | Show
The Raptors survived game three, but it took two OT's to get them there in a 118-112 win. The Raptors are still down 1-2 and need another win here tonight. I was right about the total and a much slower paced game in game three. I still lost the total because of the OT's, but that game was a dead under play. That's just what I'm expecting again here tonight. The Raptors know they can't get into a scoring match with the Bucks and will look to slow the pace once again. I'm going to stick with my game three selection and go UNDER tonight. |
05-21-19 | Marlins v. Tigers UNDER 7.5 | 5-4 | Loss | -119 | 8 h 8 m | Show
Both the Marlins and Tigers had yesterday off, the Tigers with two days off after a postponement. These clubs are having seasons they would like to forget thus far, with Miami at 13-31 and Detroit at 18-26. Miami can build on the fact that they have won three straight after sweeping the Mets. Today, the Marlins will start their best pitcher in Caleb Smith. Smith is 3-1 in his eight starts and has a nifty 2.25 ERA and 0.917 WHIP. The Tigers bring a six game losing streak into tonight's contest. The Tigers will start Spencer Turnbull. Turnbull is 2-3 in his nine starts with a 2.40 ERA and 1.253 WHIP. Both these pitchers have been good. I expect another low scoring game between these pitchers here tonight. Play the UNDER. |
05-20-19 | Diamondbacks v. Padres UNDER 7 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 31 m | Show
Both these clubs bring a losing streak into tonight's contest. The Diamondbacks have lost their last two games, while the Padres have lost three straight. Both clubs will have good starters going tonight. Arizona starts Luke Weaver who is 3-2 in his nine starts with a 3.16 ERA and 1.111 WHIP. Weaver has not allowed more than three runs in any of his last eight starts. The Padres will send Chris Paddack to the hill tonight. Paddack is 3-2 in his eight starts with a nice 1.99 ERA and 0.750 WHIP. Like Weaver, Paddack has not allowed more than three runs in any of his eight starts this season. This looks to be a low scoring contest tonight. I'm taking UNDER. |
05-19-19 | Bucks v. Raptors UNDER 220 | Top | 112-118 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 40 m | Show |
I'll be looking at the under here in game three between the Bucks and Raptors. This is really the tale of two different teams. The Bucks have been scoring a lot of points and the Raptors have been keeping games lower scoring with UNDERS. With the Bucks up 2-0, I look for Toronto to try and control the tempo of this game. The Raptors pretty much know they don't want to get into a scoring exchange with the Bucks. They have been a good under team, with 4-11 O/U their last 15 games. They have also gone under in five of their last seven home games. I expect the best effort of this series from Toronto and that means a more deliberate contest and that means lower scoring. Play the UNDER here in game three. |
05-18-19 | Warriors v. Blazers OVER 221 | 110-99 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 60 m | Show
Game three of the NBA Western Conference finals moves to Portland as the Blazers in desperate need of a win after going down 0-2 in this series. The Blazers lost game two at Golden State, 111-114, but did cover the 7-point line. The Blazers should have some confidence coming into this game three as they played very well at Golden State in game two. The Blazers shot well in game two, hitting 44.2% from the field and outscored the Warriors from beyond 3-point arc, 54-27. The Warriors found themselves trailing by as many as 17-points in game two, so to be up 2-0 is very fortunate for this Golden State team. Now they have to play at Portland, where the Blazers have played very well. I'm going to look at the OVER in today's game. The Warriors are 3-0-1 O/U/P in their last four road games and 20-7 O/U in their last 27 vs a team with a winning record. Portland has a 19-6-1 O/U/P record their last 26 at home. They are also 5-2 O/U in their last seven overall games. These teams have gone over in 13 of their last 16 meetings in Portland and 20 of their last 28 overall. Take the OVER. |
05-18-19 | Cubs v. Nationals UNDER 8.5 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 17 h 14 m | Show |
The Cubs took game one of this 3-game series with the Washington Nationals on Friday, 14-6. The Cubs improved to 26-16 on the season while the Nationals dropped to 18-26. The Cubs have been a very good under team up until yesterday's contest. Before the over on Friday, the Cubs have gone UNDER in seven of their last eight games. Now seven of the last nine. The Cubs starting pitching staff has been excellent and it's led by veteran Jon Lester. Lester starts his eighth game today with a 3-1 record, 1.16 ERA and 1.112 WHIP. Lester has not allowed more than two runs in any of his seven starts this season. The Nationals will start Stephen Strasburg. Strasburg is 3-3 in his nine starts this year with a 3.63 ERA and 1.052 WHIP. Strasburg has allowed two runs or fewer in four of his last five starts. Both these pitchers are very good veterans, but Lester has been lights out of late. I look for a low scoring game here today in Washington. I'm taking the UNDER. |
05-17-19 | Rays v. Yankees UNDER 9 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 53 m | Show
Tampa Bay and New York begin their 3-game series here tonight at Yankee Stadium. The Rays and Yankees both had yesterday off. The Rays took both games from their intrastate rivals, Miami by a combined 5-0 total. The Rays will start reliever Ryan Stanek, again. Stanek started the last game against Miami. Stanek likely will go just one inning here and in his previous 11 starts he's allowed a run just one time. In fact, the Rays are now 8-3 in the games that Stanek has started. The Yankees have won three straight coming into tonight and five of the last six. C.C. Sabathia will start tonight. Sabathia is 2-1 in his six starts with a 3.26 ERA and 1.187 WHIP. Two teams that both have excellent pitching staffs here tonight. I like the UNDER between these teams. Play UNDER. |
05-16-19 | Cubs v. Reds UNDER 9 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 18 h 26 m | Show |
The Chicago Cubs saw its 3-game losing streak snapped yesterday in a 10-inning loss to the Reds, 5-6. The Cubs have been a good under team of late, with their last six games going UNDER the total. This is not only due to good pitching, but the offense has not been firing on all cylinders. Jose Quintana will start today for the Cubs. Quintana has a 4-2 record in his seven starts with a 3.83 ERA and 1.181 WHIP. Quintana gave up eight runs back in his first start of April 5th. Since that start, Quintana has allowed three runs or less in each of his starts. Despite their win on Wednesday, the Reds are just 19-24 on the season. Moreover, the Reds have been a very good UNDER team this year, posting a 15-27-1 O/U/P on the season. Luis Castillo toes the rubber for the Reds. Castillo has been the Reds Ace thus far this season. Castillo has a 4-1 record in his nine starts with a nifty 1.76 ERA and 0.994 WHIP. Castillo is coming off a six-inning performance at San Francisco where he allowed no runs and just two hits for the WIN. Both these pitchers have been good and with Castillo on top of his game this year, I'm taking the UNDER. Play UNDER. |

05-16-19 | A's v. Tigers UNDER 8.5 | 17-3 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 55 m | Show
The Oakland A's had yesterday off as the travel to Detroit to begin their series with the Tigers today. The A's bring a 3-game losing streak into today's contest. Chris Bassitt gets the start today for the A's. Bassitt is 1-1 with a 2.55 ERA in his four starts this year. Bassitt also has a very good WHIP with a 0.973 WHIP and has not allowed over three runs in any of his four starts. The tigers lost at home to Houston yesterday, 1-5. The Tigers have lost three straight games. Spencer Turnbull will toe the rubber today for the Tigers. Turnbull is 2-2 with a 2.42 ERA and 1.209 WHIP. Turnbull has pitched very well this season as he's allowed over two runs in a start just one time in eight outings and that was three run. Both these pitchers have been very good this season and both teams have underperforming offences. I like the UNDER here early on Thursday. Play UNDER. |
05-14-19 | Blazers v. Warriors OVER 220.5 | 94-116 | Loss | -109 | 6 h 26 m | Show
Game 1 of the NBA Western Conference finals. The Warriors will be without DeMarcus Cousins (quad) who was hurt in their first playoff series and without Forward Kevin Durant (calf) who was hurt in the last playoff series. That didn't seem to matter in game 6 against Houston when the Warriors scored 118 points in their win. The Warriors went over in four of their last five games against the Rockets. Portland finished off the Nuggets at Denver in game 7, 110-96. Four of their last five vs the Nuggets went over the total. I'm looking at the over here in game one. These teams have gone over in 19 of their last 26 meetings. Both clubs had good over runs in their last series too. Play the OVER here tonight in game one. |
05-12-19 | Indians v. A's UNDER 9 | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 15 h 35 m | Show
The Oakland A's took Saturday's game with the Indians, 3-2, with the game going UNDER. That's what I will be looking at again here on Sunday, the UNDER. The Indians have been a good UNDER team this year with a 16-22 O/U record, mainly due to their good pitching staff. That should continue here today with Jefry Rodriguez on the hill for the Tribe. Rodriguez has a 0-2 record in his three starts, but has a nice 2.41 ERA and 1.071 WHIP. Rodriguez has allowed two or fewer runs in each of his three starts, but has failed to get any run support in two of those outings. Daniel Mengden will make his first appearance of the season for the A's. Mike Fiers will be pushed back to give him an extra day of rest. Despite a bad spring, Mengden made a good start at Triple A Las Vegas last Tuesday, going six strong innings and allowing just one run against Salt Lake City. I look for both pitchers to show up good here on Sunday as I take the UNDER. |
05-12-19 | Blazers v. Nuggets UNDER 213.5 | 100-96 | Win | 100 | 3 h 17 m | Show
It's game 7 between the Blazers and Nuggets for the right to move to the Conference Championship series against the Warriors. The Blazers forced this game seven with a win at home in game six, 119-108. As I predicted in game one, these might be the most evenly matched teams in the NBA Playoffs and they have provided it here. The Nuggets have covered four of the six in this series though including two of three at home. A big concern for the Blazers here in game seven is center Niola Jokic. Jovic has been someone that the Blazers have been unable to contain. So far this series has proven to be high scoring, with the last four games going over and five of the six going over. With Jovic and the Nuggets scoring at will, I look for Portland to have to try and keep pace here in game 7. I'm taking the OVER. |
05-11-19 | Yankees v. Rays UNDER 8 | 2-7 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 35 m | Show
Both of these AL East teams will be battling it out all season as the Yankees and Rays are neck and neck in the standings atop the division. The Yankees turn to veteran C.C. Sabathia today. Sabathia is 2-1 in his five starts with a 3.20 ERA and 1.145 WHIP. Sabathia has only one start where he's allowed more than three earned runs and three of his five starts he's allowed two or fewer runs. The Rays will start their relief pitcher again in Ryan Stanek. Stanek is the hard throwing relief pitcher that gets the start and they the Rays look to for holding opponents for at least one or two innings. So far it's worked for them as in his nine starts, Stanek has allowed a run just one time. The other eight he's allowed no runs. The Rays are 6-3 when they have started Stanek. Both these pitchers are good, though we need the Rays pen to help us keep this one close and UNDER. That's my play today here, the UNDER. |
05-10-19 | Yankees v. Rays UNDER 7.5 | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 17 h 44 m | Show
Two of the best pitchers this season are on display tonight in Tampa Bay. The NY Yankees visit Florida to take on the Rays and they will start Domingo German who is 5-1 in his six starts this year. German has a very nice 2.48 ERA with a 0.936 WHIP. German is coming off a start where he allowed just one run over 6 2/3 innings to the Twins. The Rays will start their best tonight in Tyler Glasnow. Glasnow is 6-0 in his seven starts with a great 1.47 ERA and 0.860 WHIP. Glasnow has not allowed over two runs in any start this season and is coming off a seven inning performance at Baltimore where he allowed just three hits and no runs over seven innings. This should be an old fashioned pitcher's duel here tonight. I'm taking the UNDER. |
05-09-19 | Mariners v. Yankees OVER 9 | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -106 | 16 h 12 m | Show |
The Seattle Mariners took Wednesday game with the Yankees, 10-1 and with that win improved to 20-19 on the season. The Yankees dropped to 21-15. The M's have been one of the best over teams in baseball this season, with a 26-9-3 O/U/P record. That includes the over in last night's contest. Mike Leake will start today's contest for the M's. Leake is 2-3 in his seven starts with a 4.91 ERA and 1.513 WHIP. Leake has allowed 12 runs over his last 17 innings of work. The Yankees will start J.A. Happ who is 1-3 this season in his seven starts. Happ has a 4.93 ERA with a 1.278 WHIP. Happ is coming off a 5 2/3 outing vs the Twins where he gave up seven his and four runs. I'm on the OVER in this game today as the M's continue to give me win and after win this season. Play the OVER. |
05-09-19 | Marlins v. Cubs OVER 9.5 | 1-4 | Loss | -126 | 3 h 14 m | Show
The Marlins look for a split of their four game series here today with the Cubs. Miami won the opener and then lost the last two including last night, 3-2. The pen has been an issue this season for the Cubs, with a 5.55 ERA on the road and high 1.638 WHIP. Yu Darvish will get the start today. Darvish is 2-3 in his seven starts and has a high 5.79 ERA and 1.714 WHIP. Walks have hurt Darvish this season, as he's allowed nine free passes in his last 10 innings. Surprisingly, Darvish has been worse at home, posting a 0-2 record in three starts with a 7.54 ERA. The Marlins will turn to Trevor Richards today. Richards still looking for that first win of the season against four losses in his seven starts. Richards has a 4.10 ERA and 1.313 WHIP. Cubs one of the better over teams in baseball and that's because of a suspect pen and shaky starters. That will be on display today and that for me is another OVER. Play OVER. |
05-09-19 | White Sox v. Indians OVER 9 | 0-5 | Push | 0 | 2 h 4 m | Show
The White Sox and Indians complete their four-game series here today with an early game. The Sox have won two of the first three in this series. Today, Chicago will start Manny Banuelos, who is 1-1 in his three starts this season. Banuelos has a lofty 8.02 ERA and 1.945 WHIP. In addition, Banuelos allowed 10 hits and nine runs over just 2 2/3 innings last time out to the Red Sox. The Indians will counter with Carlos Carraso, who is 2-3 in his seven starts this season. Carrasco has a 5.60 ERA and 1.330 WHIP and has allowed eight runs over his last 14 1/3 innings. I look for today's contest to go OVER the total as both these pitchers have had their issues this season. Play OVER. |
05-08-19 | Royals v. Astros OVER 9 | 0-9 | Push | 0 | 7 h 1 m | Show
Tonight my top play in baseball is the OVER in this contest between the Kansas City Royals and the Houston Astros. The Royals have been a great over play all year with a 22-14-1 O/U/P record. This is thanks not only to an offense that averages 4.9 runs per game, but also a pitching staff that allows 4.9 runs per game. So far in this series with the Astros, these teams have gone over in both games with 14 and 10 runs being scored in the previous two contests. Jorge Lopez starts today for the Royals. Lopez has a 0-3 record in his seven starts with a lofty 5.09 ERA and 1.3254 WHIP. Lopez has allowed at least four runs in each of his last four starts. You can expect the Astros to get their average runs of 5.0 tonight against Lopez. Brad Peacock will start for the Astros. Peacock has a 1-2 record in his five starts with a 5.81 ERA and 1.291 WHIP. Peacock allowed seven runs in his last start, which lasted just 3 2/3 innings at Minnesota in 2-8 loss. With two poor pitchers on the hill and a dead over team KC, I'm taking the OVER. |
05-08-19 | Angels v. Tigers UNDER 8 | 3-10 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 1 m | Show
Two teams that have been under clubs this year meet tonight as the Angels take on the Tigers from Detroit. The Angels took game one of this series last night, 5-2, going under the total. The Angels will start Tyler Skaggs tonight who has a 3-2 record in his five starts. Skaggs has a nice 3.12 ERA and 1.231 WHIP. Skaggs has been very good his last two starts, allowing just seven hits and two runs over his 11 innings for a 2-0 record. Meanwhile, the Tigers have gone UNDER in five of their last seven games. Matt Boyd will toe the rubber tonight for the Tigers. Boyd has a 3-2 record in his seven starts with a 3.05 ERA and 0.993 WHIP. Boyd has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his seven starts this season. I like these teams to go UNDER tonight with two very solid starters on the hill. Play UNDER. |
05-07-19 | Mets v. Padres UNDER 7.5 | 7-6 | Loss | -120 | 7 h 4 m | Show
The NY Mets look to snap a four-game losing streak tonight after dropping game one of this series to the Padres, 0-4. The Mets offense has abandoned them of late, as they have scored three runs or less in each of their last six games (all UNDERS). It's a good thing they have had solid pitching or they wouldn't have even been in those games. Noah Syndergaard looks to return to his old form from last year. Syndergaard has not been that good this year with a 2-3 record in his seven starts and a 5.02 ERA and 1.279 WHIP. Syndergaard did look like his old self in his last start where he went a full 9-innings against the Reds and allowed just four hits and no runs. In addition, he struck out 10 and walked just one in that outing. That's the Syndergaard that the Mets hope will be back tonight also at San Diego. The Padres will start Cal Quantrill tonight. Quantrill has just one start and in that game he went 5 2/3 innings, scattered six hits and allowed 2-runs. Quantrill does get the benefit of facing a Mets team that has really struggled to get runs tonight. I expect Syndergaard to keep his strong pitching going here tonight and this game to go UNDER. |
05-07-19 | Braves v. Dodgers UNDER 7.5 | 0-9 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 4 m | Show
The Atlanta Braves are coming off a loss in game one to the Dodgers, 3-5. The Braves had their three-game win streak snapped last night. The Braves will start Max Fried tonight. Fried is 4-1 in his six starts with five quality outings. Fried has been one of the best for the Braves this year with a 2.21 ERA and 0.982 WHIP. He's been even better on the road with a 2-0 record and 1.446 ERA. The Dodgers will also start their best pitcher this year in Hyun-Jin Ryu. Ryu is 3-1 in his six starts with a 2.55 ERA and 0.905 WHIP. Ryu is 3-0 at home with a 2.25 ERA and 0.900 WHIP. Ryu has not allowed more than 2-runs in any of his six starts this season. I like the UNDER here tonight with two of the best NL Pitchers on the mound. Play UNDER |
05-05-19 | Nuggets v. Blazers UNDER 210.5 | 116-112 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 22 m | Show
Portland has a 2-1 series lead with Denver in their best of seven match. The Blazers look to take a commanding 3-1 lead here today. But in this contest I'm looking at the UNDER. This series has been a typical bounce series. Game one was an over with 234 points scored, then game two was very low scoring and an under with just 187. Game three returned to high scoring over with 277 points. The Blazers attempted 124 shots, at least 20 more than their highest in any game dating back to March. Denver also had a high of 119 shots attempted, well above their recent high of just 98 and an average in the 80's. This Denver team really doesn't like these run and shoot games and I expect the bounce factor to return here tonight as we see this series come back to a lower scoring game tonight. I'm playing UNDER. |
05-05-19 | Raptors v. 76ers OVER 214.5 | 101-96 | Loss | -109 | 5 h 54 m | Show
The Philadelphia 76ers can take a commanding 3-1 lead in their best of seven series with the Raptors with a win today at home. The Sixers lost game one in Toronto, but then rebounded for wins in game 2 and game 3. The last game coming at home and a Philly blowout, 116-95. Philly saw it's shooting percentage skyrocket from 39% in games 1 and 2 to 51% in game three. They have also out rebounded the Raptors in all three games by a combined 169-142. I like the OVER here in game four. Seven of the last 10 meetings between these teams in Philadelphia have gone OVER the total. I expect to see the 76ers hot shooting continue here today and the Raptors try to keep pace. I look for a fast paced contest and therefore the OVER. Play OVER. |
05-02-19 | Blue Jays v. Angels UNDER 8.5 | Top | 2-6 | Win | 105 | 21 h 57 m | Show |
Toronto and the LA Angels have both been good under teams this year. Last night's total was off the board with a late pitching change. Still, the Blue Jays are 11-17-1 O/U this season and the Angels are 12-17-1 O/U. The Jays will start Aaron Sanchez tonight. Sanchez is 3-1 with a 2.32 ERA and 1.323 WHIP. Sanchez has allowed just one earned run over his last two starts (9 innings) with just four total hits. The Angels will start Tyler Skaggs tonight. Skaggs is 2-2 on the season with a 3.15 ERA and 1.250 WHIP. Skaggs is coming off a 5-inning performance at Kansas City, allowing three hits and no runs. The clubs are 2-5-1 O/U in their last eight meetings and they are 3-7-2 O/U in their last 12 meetings in LA. I like the under here tonight. |
04-30-19 | Rockets v. Warriors UNDER 220.5 | Top | 109-115 | Loss | -109 | 22 h 36 m | Show |
Golden State took game one of this series in what was a very low scoring game, 104-100. Despite the low score, the Warriors still hit 51% of their shots from the field. Houston hit 42% of their shots from the field. The Rockets are now 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games and 5-0 ATS in their last five vs the NBA Pacific division. The Rockets have also been a great under team. Houston is 0-4 O/U in their last four road games, 6-20-2 O/U in their last 28 games with 1 day rest and 6-19-1 O/U in their last 26 overall games. The Warriors have had their issues covering games, evidenced by their 10-23-1 ATS mark in their last 34 home games. They are also 1-4 ATS in their last five conference semifinal games. Surprisingly, the Warriors have also been a good under team. They are 0-4 O/U in their last four conference semifinals and 5-16 O/U in their last 21 games playing on one day rest. They are also have gone under in 11 of their last 15 home games. I expect another close, low scoring contest here tonight. Play the UNDER. |
04-30-19 | Celtics v. Bucks UNDER 220.5 | 102-123 | Loss | -114 | 19 h 2 m | Show
The Celtics took on the team with the best record in the NBA and beat them easily in game one of this series, 112-90. The Bucks hit a paltry 35% from the field while Boston hit 55% from the field. The Celtics have been a good under team in the playoffs, going under in four of their last five games. Milwaukee was one of the best defensive teams in the NBA this season and they held Detroit to 104 or fewer points in their four-game sweep. The Bucks have a 9-24 O/U mark against the NBA Atlantic division. They are also 2-6 ATS in their last eight conference semifinal games. I expect a much better defensive effort here tonight by the Bucks as I look for this game to go UNDER the total. Play UNDER. |
04-29-19 | 76ers v. Raptors UNDER 221 | 94-89 | Win | 100 | 9 h 34 m | Show
Game two of this best of seven series has the Raptors leading 1-0 after Saturday's win at Toronto, 108-95. Toronto has now held opponents to fewer than 100 points in five straight games. It's rare for the Sixers offense to be held below the century mark, so don't look for that again here tonight. Philly has covered four of their last five games. In fact, they are 11-3 ATS their last 14 after a straight-up loss of 10 points or more. I'm looking at the UNDER here in game 2. The Sixers are 1-6 O/U in their last seven road games vs a home team with a win record greater then 60%. The Raptors have also been a good under team, 1-6 O/U their last seven overall, 1-5 O/U in their last six vs the East Conference, 1-5-1 O/U their last seven following a ATS win. All indicators point to a low scoring game here. Play the UNDER. |
04-29-19 | Rockies v. Brewers UNDER 9 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 19 m | Show |
Colorado and Milwaukee both bring one-game losing streaks into today's contest. Both clubs have under teams this year, as Colorado is 12-14-2 O/U and the Brewers are 12-16-1 O/U on the season. The Rockies will start Kyle Freeland today. Freeland is 2-3 in his five starts with a 4.23 ERA and 1.193 WHIP. Freeland is coming off his best start of the season, going six innings and allowing just two hits and no runs in a 6-2 win over the Phillies. Zach Davies will toe the rubber for the Brewers tonight. Davies is having an excellent season with a 2-0 record in his five starts. Davies has a 1.65 ERA and 1.353 WHIP. Davies has yet to allow more than two runs in any of his five starts and has just five total walks and 19 KO's. The Rockies are now 1-4-1 O/U in Freeland's 6 road starts. They are also 18-45-4 O/U in Freelands last 67 starts. The Brewers are 7-24-1 O/U in Davies last 32 starts and 2-8 O/U in his last 10 at home. I like today's game to go UNDER. |
04-29-19 | Astros v. Twins UNDER 8.5 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 12 m | Show
The Houston Astros have been a good UNDER team this yeare with a 11-17 O/U record. This is because they have a good pitching staff that allows just 3.7 rpg. Today's starter is Justin Verlander who is 4-0 on the season with a nice 2.61 ERA and 0.895 WHIP. Verlander looks in mid-season form as he's allow just one earned run in each of his last three starts (21 innings). That includes just three walks and 27 KO's. The Twins will start Jake Odorizzi. Odorizzi has a 4.37 ERA in his five starts, but has pitched much better of late. Odorizzi has allowed just three runs over his last 11 2/3 innings with one walk and eight KO's. Verland has been excellent and Odorizzi has been much better so I'll be on the UNDER here tonight. |
04-28-19 | Rockets v. Warriors UNDER 224.5 | 100-104 | Win | 100 | 5 h 16 m | Show
Game one of this best of seven series has the Houston Rockets playing at Golden State. The Warriors were pushed to six games in their series with the Clippers. The Warriors could be without guard Klay Thompson who is listed as questionable today with an ankle injury. Guard Stephen Curry is also nursing an ankle injury but is expected to play today. This is in addition to Forward DeMarcus Cousins who was lost in the Clippers series. Normally you think high scoring when you mention the Rockets and Warriors. However, the Rockets saw their last three games against Utah all go under and they were 0-4-2 O/U in their last six overall. Add to that fact that the Warriors could be without a key cog and nursing a Curry injury and I like game one today to go UNDER the total. |
04-28-19 | Angels v. Royals OVER 9 | 7-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 49 m | Show
The LA Angels dropped to 11-17 after Saturday's loss to the Royals, 4-9. The two teams have split the first two games of this series. The Angels have also gone over in four of their last five games and six of their last eight games. Matt Harvey will start today for the Halos with a 0-2 record in five starts. Harvey has a lofty 8.03 ERA with a 1.582 WHIP. Harvey is coming off a decent start where he allowed two runs over six innings to the Yankees. The Royals are 9-18 after Saturday's win. They will start Homer Bailey today. Bailey is 2-2 in his five starts with a 5.63 ERA and 1.333 WHIP. Neither of these pitchers have done well this year and today I'm looking at this game to go OVER the total. Play OVER. |
04-28-19 | Celtics v. Bucks UNDER 224 | 112-90 | Win | 100 | 3 h 45 m | Show
Game one of the best of seven series between the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks have been looking forward to this series. They will have some injuries though as guard Malcom Brogdon is out with a heel injury as well as center Pau Gasol and guard Donte DiVincenzo. But the big recent loss was Brogdon. The Bucks have gone UNDER in five of their last seven home games against a team with a winning record. They are also 2-5 O/U in their last seven Conference Semifinals. The Celtics are 2-6 O/U in their last eight games when they have had at least three days off as they do today. The Celtics saw three of their last four in the Pacers series go UNDER. The Celtics used a very good defense to keep those games under. The Bucks are one of the best defenses in the NBA and it showed in their Detroit series as they held the Pistons to 86, 99, 103 and 104 points. I like this game one to go UNDER here on Sunday. |
04-27-19 | Spurs v. Nuggets UNDER 209 | 86-90 | Win | 100 | 6 h 8 m | Show
Game seven here in this series between the Spurs and Nuggets. Denver lost game six at San Antonio 103-120 to force this game seven showdown in the Mile High city. So far the three games in Denver has seen two go under, game one was 197 points and game five was 198 points. The Spurs are a good road under team, with nine of their last 12 away games going UNDER. Denver has been a good under team at home, going UNDER in 12 of their last 15 home games. That's what this series has really been, overs at San Antonio and unders at Denver. I look for that to continue here tonight. I'm taking the UNDER. |
04-27-19 | Rangers v. Mariners OVER 8.5 | Top | 15-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 29 m | Show |
The Rangers bring a five-game losing streak into today's game at Seattle. The Rangers have had issues with their pitching staff as they now allow 6.0 runs per game on the season. In the first two games of this series with the Mariners, they have allowed the M's 19 runs. Which leads me to my play on the OVER today. The Mariners average 6.3 runs per game and have a 19-7-3 O/U mark on the year. Mike Leake starts for the M's today with a 2-2 record and 4.30 ERA. Mike Minor will try and hold back the Seattle juggernaut with his 2-2 record and 3.21 ERA. I am sticking with the Mariners over tonight, something they have done very well on the season. Play the OVER |
04-26-19 | Rangers v. Mariners OVER 8.5 | Top | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 20 h 17 m | Show |
Both these clubs brought a 3-game losing streak into today's game. The Rangers were 12-11 and the Mariners were 16-11. Both clubs are high scoring, with the Rangers averaging 5.5 rpg and the Mariners 6.0 rpg. The problem with both teams have been pitching, as both allow at least five runs per game. This was evident in game one of their series on Thursday, as the M's beat the Rangers, 14-2 to improve to 17-11 on the season. Yusei Kikuchi starts today for the M's with a 1-1 record in his six starts. Kikuchi has a 4.68 ERA and 1.316 WHIP. Shelby Miller toes the rubber for the Rangers with a 1-1 record in his four starts with a 7.63 ERA and 2.153 WHIp. Both pitchers have been poor this year and considering how these teams score runs, I look for another high scoring game here on Friday. Play the OVER. |
04-26-19 | Tigers v. White Sox OVER 9 | 11-12 | Win | 104 | 9 h 26 m | Show
The Tigers and White Sox begin their series here today in Chicago. Both clubs bring a 2-game losing streak into this series. The Tigers are 12-12 on the season and allow 4.1 runs per game. The Sox are 9-14 on the season and average 4.8 rpg and allow 5.6 rpg. The Sox are also 14-9 O/U on the season. Detroit will start Daniel Norris who is 1-0 in his only start of the season. Norris went five solid innings and allowed two hits and no runs. The White Sox will send Carlos Rodon to the hill tonight. Rodon is 3-2 in his five starts with a 2.89 ERA and 1.107 WHIP. Both these pitchers have been good, but their teams are not. The bullpens are suspect and neither pitcher will go much past the fifth inning. It might not be early, but I expect runs in this game and will take the OVER. |
04-23-19 | Golden Knights v. Sharks OVER 5.5 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 12 h 43 m | Show
Game 7 of this first round playoff series between the LV Knights and SJ Sharks moves back to San Jose. The Sharks were down 1-3 in this series and won game five in San Jose and then game six in Las Vegas. Game six went into two overtimes before the Sharks scored to win 2-1. I like the over in this game tonight. We saw our low scoring, defensive game in last time out but in San Jose these games usually open up quite a bit. These teams have gone over in six of the last eight meetings. However, in San Jose, they have gone over in five straight. Play the over tonight. |

04-22-19 | Diamondbacks v. Pirates UNDER 7.5 | 12-4 | Loss | -113 | 6 h 2 m | Show
Arizona is coming off a loss on Sunday to the Cubs as they dropped to 11-11 on the season. The D'backs will send Zack Godley to the mound today. Godley is 1-1 with a 6.26 ERA and 1.391 WHIP. However, Godley looks to continue off a very good start last time out. Godley went six solid innings at Atlanta where he allowed five hits and two runs in a 3-2 no decision. The Pirates have been one of the better under teams this year, going 7-12 O/U in their 19 games. This in big part to the staff allowing just 3.1 runs per game. Joe Musgrave has also been a big part of the unders as all three of his starts have gone under the total. Musgrove is 1-1 in three starts with a 0.89 ERA and 0.836 WHIP. Musgrove has also walked just four and struck out 20. I expect to see Godley build on his excellent outing last time and with Musgrove already in a groove, I expect a low scoring game here today. Play the UNDER. |
04-21-19 | Mets v. Cardinals OVER 8.5 | 4-6 | Win | 100 | 2 h 18 m | Show
Two of the best OVER teams in baseball this year meet on the diamond today. The New York Mets are 14-4-2 O/U in their first 20 games with a 6.4 runs allowed per game. The St Louis Cardinals are 12-6-2 O/U and allow 4.5 runs per game. The Mets are 10-2-2 O/U in their last 14 road games and 4-1-1 O/U in their last 6 road games vs a right handed starter. St Louis is 22-8-2 O/U in their last 32 games overall. Mets starter Noah Syndergaard has a 5.63 ERA in his four starts with a 1.125 WHIP. Dakota Hudson is 0-1 with a 6.39 ERA in his three starts this season. Hudson allowed six runs over 3 2/3 innings in his last start. Two great over teams with two struggling starters on the hill. That looks like an OVER to me. Play the OVER. |
04-21-19 | Red Sox v. Rays UNDER 8 | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 2 h 13 m | Show
Tampa Bay has lost three-straight games, two of those to the Red Sox. Still, the Rays have a excellent 14-7 record on the season thanks in big part to one of the best pitching staffs. The Rays pitching staff has held opponents to just 2.9 runs per game this season. Tyler Glasnow has been a big part of that success, posting a perfect 4-0 record in his four starts with a 1.13 ERA and 0.875 WHIp. Glasnow has allowed just three total runs in 24 innings of work with just three walks and 24 KO's. The Red Sox have won two straight, but still have improved to just 8-13 on the season. Their championship hangover seems to maybe finally be clearing now. David Price will toe the rubber today for the defending champs. Price got hit hard in his first two games, allowing eight runs over 12 innings. He rounded nicely last time out, allowing no runs and just three hits over seven innings. Glasnow has been excellent on the hill and I look for him to continue that success here today. Play the UNDER. |
04-19-19 | Giants v. Pirates UNDER 7.5 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 16 m | Show
Two teams that have both been good under teams so far this year meet tonight as the Pirates host the Giants. Pittsburgh is 10-6 on the season and 7-9 Over/Under. They have scored just 3.7 rpg and allowed 3.4 rpg. Jordan Lyles will start today for the Bucs with a 1-0 record in his two starts. Lyles has pitched very well so far, with a 0.82 ERA and 0.909 WHIP. Lyles has allowed just one run over 11 innings of work with four BB's and 12 KO's. The Giants have struggled to a 8-12 record and average just 3.1 rpg while allowing 3.6 rpg. Madison Bumgarner will toe the rubber today for the Giants. Bumgarner is 1-2 in his four starts with a decent 3.12 ERA and 0.923 WHIP. Bumgarner went seven innings in his last start vs the Rockies and allowed just two runs and six hits with 7 KO's and no walks. Bumgarner has three good starts out of four and with these pitchers on the hill today I'm taking the UNDER. |

04-19-19 | Raptors v. Magic UNDER 211.5 | 98-93 | Win | 100 | 7 h 52 m | Show
The Orlando Magic escaped from Toronto with a 1-1 split, which means they currently have home court in this series with the best team in the East. The Magic stole game one in Toronto, 104-101 as a 9.5-point dog. They were then beat soundly in game two, 82-111 as a 10.5-point dog. Tonight, the Magic are 5-point dogs at home. The Magic have been very good at covering lately, going 5-1 ATS their last six games and 11-4 ATS their last 15 games. The Magic look to improve on their game two shooting of just 37% from the field and 26.5% from beyond the 3-point arc. I'm looking at the UNDER here tonight. The Raptors are 1-3-1 O/U in their last five road games and 1-4-1 O/U in their last six overall. They are also 0-5 O/U in their last five quarterfinal games. The Magic are 1-6 O/U in their last seven with 2 days rest and 6-19-1 O/U in their last 26 quarterfinal games. The teams are also 0-6 O/U in their last six meetings in Orland and 1-5 O/U in their last six meetings overall. I like the UNDER again here tonight. Play UNDER. |
04-18-19 | Warriors v. Clippers UNDER 235.5 | 132-105 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 36 m | Show
This best of seven series is tied at 1-1 after the Clipper stole game two in Golden State. The Clippers were down 31 points in that game two, but came back to get the improbable win to tie the series and take home court. The Clips outscored Golden State 72-37 after being down 31-points. The big note here is that Warriors F DeMarcus Cousins is out with a quad injury. That will be a big blow to the Warriors going forward. I look for a very tight game here tonight as the venue switches to the Staple Center. Expect a more defensive battle tonight. The Warriors have gone under in eight of their last 11 road games and are 7-19 O/U in their last 26 overall games. They are also 4-13 O/U in their last 17 vs the Western conference. With Cousins out and the game at LA, I like this one to go UNDER. Play UNDER. |
04-18-19 | Blue Jays v. Twins UNDER 8 | 7-4 | Loss | -103 | 2 h 10 m | Show
The Blue Jays are off to a 7-12 record this season after losing game three of this series on Wednesday, 1-4. The Jays look to take three of four in this series today with Clay Buchholz on the mound. Buchholz is 0-0 on the season after just one start. His lone start was very good, going six inning allowing six hits and just one run. The Jays took that game over Tampa Bay 3-1 as a +1.90 dog. The Twins are 9-6 on the young season and look to split the series with the Jays today. Michael Pineda has also been solid so far this year with a 2-0 record in three starts. Pineda has gone 15 total innings, allowed 13 hits, five runs and just two walks with 15 KO's. Both these teams have solid starters on the hill today and I like this game to go under the total. Play UNDER. |
04-17-19 | Jazz v. Rockets OVER 214 | 98-118 | Win | 100 | 7 h 46 m | Show
Houston looks to hold home court advantage with a win tonight over the Jazz. Houston leads this best of seven series 1-0. Game one of this series turned into a Houston blowout, as the Rockets won easily, 122-90 and the total came in right about the 212-213 posted line. The Rockets hit 51% of their shots while holding the Jazz to just 39% in game one. This was a tough pill for the defensive Jazz to swallow as they finished 2nd in the NBA in defensive efficiency to Milwaukee. I'm going to look at the OVER again here tonight. The Rockets want this game to go as game one went, fast paced and offensive. The Jazz want to fall back into their defensive style of play. For me, the Rockets will likely dictate the style of play on their homecourt and that for me means an OVER. Play OVER tonight. |
04-17-19 | Orioles v. Rays UNDER 8.5 | 1-8 | Loss | -120 | 8 h 6 m | Show
Baltimore is off to a slow start this season at 7-11 on the year. The Orioles have averaged 4.5 rpg while allowing 6.1 runs per game. The Tampa Bay Rays look to be a contender in the AL East this year with a 13-4 start to the year. The Rays are 5-11-1 O/U on the season as they allow just 2.5 runs per game. Today we get to see the Rays use their starter by bullpen example. Ryan Stanek starts and he will likely go two innings at most. But what he does is get the Rays off to a good start. Stanek has started three times and has just one hit and no runs, no walks and 8 KO's in his 5 total innings. Then Stanek turns the ball over to a very good bullpen. The O's will counter with David Hess who is 1-2 in his three starts with a 3.71 ERA and 0.824 WHIP. Hess has walked just three batters in 17 innings while striking out 13 and allowing seven total runs. Hess has been solid, but received little run support. Tough spot here today for the O's against this pitching method the Rays bring out. I look for low scoring game here tonight. Play the UNDER. |
04-16-19 | Thunder v. Blazers OVER 223 | 94-114 | Loss | -108 | 10 h 27 m | Show
Portland leads this best of seven series with the Thunder, 1-0. Oklahoma City was down big in the 1st quarter and much of the first half, but they rallied and almost covered the 3 1/2 point line, losing 99-104. Portland was red hot in the first quarter, but cooled down after that hitting just 42% from the field for the game. The Blazers have not historically done well in these quarterfinal games, going 8-24-2 ATS their last 34 times. I'm looking at the OVER here in game 2. The Blazers showed they are willing to push the pace as they did early in game one. Portland has been a very good over team on one-day rest, going 20-5-2 O/U in their last 27 tires. They are also 15-5-1 O/U in their last 21 home games. I look for OKC to try and slow the pace while the Blazers will look to push it. I'm taking the OVER here in game 2. |
04-16-19 | Pirates v. Tigers UNDER 7.5 | 5-3 | Loss | -101 | 7 h 19 m | Show
Interleague action today has the Pittsburgh Pirates taking on the Detroit Tigers. The Pirates are 8-6 on the season and have won one game in a row. The Pirates have been a under team thus far with a 6-8 O/U record. They are scoring an average of 3.6 rpg and allowing 3.5 rps. Joe Musgrave gets the start today for the Bucs with a 1-1 record in his two starts. Musgrave has not allowed an earned run over 13 1/3 innings of work with just 7 total hits, three walks and 14 KO's. Detroit has also been a very good under team at 4-11 O/U. The Tigers average just 2.7 rpg and allow 3.3 rpg. Matt Boyd is 1-1 for the Tigers and will start today. Boyd has a 2.60 ERA in his three starts with a 1.154 WHIP. Boyd has allowed just two earned runs over his last 12 1/3 innings with five walks and 19 KO's. Both these pitchers have been excellent and with two teams struggling to score runs, I'm taking the UNDER here tonight. |
04-15-19 | Predators v. Stars OVER 5 | 3-2 | Push | 0 | 10 h 11 m | Show
Game 2 here of this best of seven series with Dallas up 1-0 over the Predators. The Stars came back from an 0-1 deficit in game one to win 3-2. The Predators lack of effort in game one needs to improve here tonight. The Predators defense of Bonino, Sissons and Watson had a particularly bad game including penalties and ineffective penalty killing. These teams have gone OVER in their last six meetings in Dallas. While these teams have looked better on the UNDER side of the tally sheet this year, I'm taking the OVER here tonight. I'm looking for a improved Nashville contest and we have a lot total of just five. Take the OVER. |
