The Cleveland Cavaliers have kept right on rolling despite dealing with injuries to the majority of the team’s starting five, but keeping LeBron James and Kevin Love inserted in the starting lineup has been enough to keep the Cavaliers in the conversation as one of the NBA’s elite teams.
Not only is Kyrie Irving out for the Cavaliers, his replacement, Mo Williams, has now missed the last two games with an ankle injury.
But a win over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday moved the Cavaliers to 7-0 at home this season, and they’ll look to get that number to 8-0 when they host the Orlando Magic on Monday evening.
Elfrid Payton hasn’t disappointed in his time with the Magic, proving to be a reliable backcourt option. But he’s coming off a forgettable performance in which he was held to seven points on 3-of-12 shooting in a 97-91 home loss to the Sacramento Kings on Saturday.
The team has also been leaving center Nikola Vucevic on the bench in key moments late in games. Vucevic had 11 points and 11 rebounds on Saturday against the Kings despite missing the game’s final 12 minutes.
Teammate Victor Oladipo is shooting 4-of-17 from the field over his last two games.
Timofey Mozgov figures to miss at least another week with a strained shoulder.
With Williams out for the last two games, Matthew Dellavedova started in his place and dished out a career-high 13 assists on Thursday, then scored an efficient 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting Saturday against the Hawks.
Tristan Thompson started in place of Mozgov on Saturday and put up nine points and 16 rebounds to go along with a career-high five assists in 40 minutes of court time. On the season he’s averaging 9.8 rebounds despite playing in a reserve role behind Mozgov and Love.

Free NBA Prediction:
From the time Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen joined Paul Pierce in Boston to form the Celtics’ Big Three, the key to being successful when assembling three marquee players like that is playing sound defense with all five players on the court to limit scoring chances for the other side.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Under 195.5
That’s a strategy the Cavaliers certainly employee with plenty of success.
They’ll make it tough on the Magic to score in this one, and that will be something the Magic emphasize as well. Orlando has prided itself on improving at the defensive end in recent seasons, making this a defensive battle we can cash in on by backing the under.
