LA Clippers
The LA Clippers got some good news recently when Blake Griffin made it clear he is nearing his return.
He participated in full-contact drills Friday for the first time since falling to injury and stated “I’m as close as you can feel,” per ESPN.com.
As good of news as that is for LA and its hopes of maintaining playoff position, there’s no indication he’ll be back for this game against the Sixers.

So for now, we’re operating under the assumption that he’ll miss Tuesday night’s game in Philly.
As much as this team has missed Griffin, it’s Chris Paul whose absences has had the biggest impact.
It’s requiring key guards such as J.J. Redick, Jamal Crawford, Austin Rivers and Raymond Felton to step up.
The team is 0-2 since Paul’s absence.
Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers have become one of the most entertaining teams to watch in the NBA this season. But all of a sudden, they’re so much more than that.
This group, as Joel Embiid has been saying for weeks, is eying the playoffs.
That sentiment seemed ridiculous when it first started to circulate, but all of a sudden, this group is only 5.5 games out of the eighth seed in the East.
The odds are still against them…but it’s at least a narrative worth paying attention to.
As far as this game is concerned, the Sixers are going to be without the player who makes them both entertaining and competitive.
Joel Embiid is set to miss this contest after injurying his knee against the Portland Trail Blazers.
But fear not, Philly.

This isn’t a long-term concern.
Embiid has missed numerous games this season with DNP-CDs with rest in mind. Consider this the same, but consider it significant as far as this individual outcome is concerned.

Free Boston Celtics vs. Washington Wizards NBA Prediction:
Recent trends all point to the Sixers, and it’s easy to see why consider both teams’ recent success.
But these trends don’t take Embiid’s absence into account.
