Chiefs Super Bowl Odds
Kansas City Chiefs +1600
2nd AFC West
The Chiefs shouldn’t be in this conversation. At one point they were 1-5 and now they are the hottest team in the league, favoured in a road playoff game. How or why things turned is difficult to specify but it did and now they have to be considered a real player in the pursuit of the Super Bowl title.

NFL Handicapping Insight
No team enters the playoffs with a winning streak longer than the Chiefs current 10 gamer. As we have seen over the last few years it is as much about getting red hot when it matters most to make a Super Bowl run.
Wild Card teams are proving that more and more every year.
I don’t think the Chiefs are the best team but they might be the group that nobody wants to play right now.
Mistake Free Football
It seems silly sometimes but this is what this team is all about and it obviously works. They want to make as few mistakes as possible and are banking on the fact that you will make some, either out of frustration or ineptitude.
It starts with the way that Alex Smith manages the quarterback position but really the notion of being mistake free permeates the entire club. It works but the question is whether it can work well enough to win a title.
Defense and More Defense
If defense truly does win championships the Chiefs have to be considered as good a bet as anybody else. They finished third in the league in points allowed and were in the top 9 in all of the key defensive metrics.
They also have some real play-makers in the form of Justin Houston and Tamba Hali to get after the quarterback and Marcus Peters, the rookie who tied for the league lead in interceptions and ran back a couple for scores.
The Houston Texans made the playoffs by winning the lamest division in the AFC. As stated above the Chiefs have all of the momentum heading into this one and as a result are the favourite even on the road.
The playoffs are a reset but this team is already feeling like it can’t lose and it gets a great spot to start a playoff run at Houston. It is not easy but as long as they don’t let J.J. Watt run amok they should win easily.
Pretty Good Coaching
Andy Reid is a pretty good coach. He took the Eagles to the Super Bowl and the Chiefs have definitely been better since he arrive.
In his career he has led a team to the playoffs 10 times and in seven of those he has won at least one game.
As expressed the key is getting a team on a roll and believing in itself. few have done that better than him this season.
