Let’s take a look at Ray Monohan’s 2024 Week 7 NFL Power Rankings for the 2024 season.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (5-0)
The Chiefs keep finding ways to win, and now they get the bye for Andy Reid to work his magic and find some fixes for the shorthanded offense. It seems like a cheat for Patrick Mahomes to have such a good defense, but that’s the world we live in where the Chiefs have a very legitimate shot at a three-peat.
2. Minnesota Vikings (5-0)
The Vikings handled all of the challenges put in front of them for five weeks en route to an undefeated record going into their bye. They get a home matchup with the Lions on the other side of their bye, then their schedule softens for a good while. This team will be a legit contender for the top seed in the NFC if they can fend off Detroit.
3. Detroit Lions (4-1)
They won’t have to face the vengeful Bucs every week. They’ve handled all comers otherwise. The offense is really humming with just a plethora of weapons on that side of the ball, and the defense is doing just enough. They’ll need to find a way to weather an extended absence from standout Aidan Hutchinson.

4. Houston Texans (5-1)
The Texans haven’t lost any of the momentum from their breakout 2023 campaign. It feels like they can be guilty of playing down to their competition at times, but Joe Mixon has provided this offense with another gear that they just didn’t have last season and that makes them a scary opponent.
5. Baltimore Ravens (4-2)
An 0-2 start is a distant memory with the Ravens rolling through the competition since. Derrick Henry has elevated the Baltimore run game in the way the franchise hoped and has been the best complimentary backfield piece we’ve seen alongside Lamar Jackson. The defense hasn’t reached the heights we’ve seen from the Raven defense, but this is as good an offense as we’ve seen from them.
6. San Francisco 49ers (3-3)
Easily the best 3-3 team in football, the 49ers’ record is a lie. The Thursday night game against Seattle was as close to a must-win as they’ll probably face all season as a loss would have dropped them to 0-3 in the division. The injuries at running back are piling up, but they’ve finally unlocked Brandon Aiyuk.
7. Washington Commanders (4-2)
The Commanders came up short in their toughest test of the season thus far, but they held their own against the Ravens better than many expected. Jayden Daniels is the real deal and Dan Quinn has turned the defense around faster than expected.
8. Green Bay Packers (4-2)
The Packers were able to tread water in Jordan Love’s absence thanks to Matt Lafleur’s leadership. Now they have their star QB back in the fold. Arizona got to experience this offense playing at a higher level, and they’ll only continue to get better on that side of the ball as they get healthier, while the defensive unit has had a standout start to the campaign in their own right.
9. Buffalo Bills (4-2)
This was supposed to be a down year for the Bills who lost many key veterans in the offseason, and Sean McDermott was expected to be in the running to be the first coach fired. Instead, Josh Allen is the leading MVP contender and the Bills have a firm grasp on top seed in the AFC East.
10. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2)
The Steelers may never make the move from Justin Fields to Russell Wilson given the success we’ve seen thus far. Arthur Smith got the most out of Ryan Tannehill in Tennessee – now he’s working his magic with Fields. The usually stout defense from Pittsburgh is holding its own while the ground game hammers away.
