Let’s take a look in Ray Monohan’s Week 12 NFL Power Rankings.
1. New Orleans Saints (9-1)
– Last Week: 1
The Saints are the hottest team in football and it isn’t even close. They have rolled opponents in back-to-back weeks, and get a favourable matchup at home on Thanksgiving. They could close out the day with another demolition when they take on the Falcons in the late game.
2. Los Angeles Rams (10-1)
– Last Week: 3
What a showdown that was on Monday night. The Rams and Chiefs put on an absolute show, with the Rams outlasting their AFC opponent.

The Rams have to be concerned about the way their defense has played in recent weeks, and they’ll have the bye week to address some of those concerns.
3. Kansas City Chiefs (9-2)
– Last Week: 2
The Chiefs continue to show an ability to put up points in bunches, and something that hasn’t come up for them often this season crept up again at the end of that Monday night showdown, as there was some questionable clock management and a lack of urgency on the team’s final possession of the game, which has been an issue for Andy Reid in the past.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2-1)
– Last Week: 4
It looked like the Steelers were bound to suffer a disappointing loss in Jacksonville in a game they just could not get going in, but they were able to escape with the win. When the Steelers coast to the top of the AFC compared with when they’re the cardiac kids, it feels like the latter version comes away with more playoff success, so this could be an interesting postseason coming up for Pittsburgh.
5. New England Patriots (7-3)
– Last Week: 5
While he’d never admit it, there’s definitely a part of Bill Belichick that was happy to take a loss going into the bye week, because that’s best for the team’s long term success this season.

The Patriots have been a different team on the other side of their bye during the Belichick era, so while many have been quick to write them off this season, let’s see how they look when they return.
6. Chicago Bears (7-3)
– Last Week: 10
The Bears have looked very good at times this season, but there had been a lot of questions, particularly of late, as to the difficulty of their schedule. They put a lot of those questions to bed with a very convincing victory over the rival Vikings on Sunday night. This team isn’t going away any time soon.
7. Houston Texans (7-3)
– Last Week: 9
The Texans were on the mat early in the season, opening the campaign with an 0-3 record, but seven consecutive wins have them on the path to the postseason, and in the mix for a first-round bye. It still feels like we haven’t seen the best of Deshaun Watson this season, but he’s done enough to bring this team back.
8. Los Angeles Chargers (7-3)
– Last Week: 6
Sunday’s last-second loss to the Chargers had to bring back some bad memories to the bad-luck Chargers teams of recent years. But this is such a talented squad this year that it’s hard to write this group off just yet.
9. Carolina Panthers (6-4)
– Last Week: 8
The Panthers look so good at times this season, but at others, they just shoot themselves in the foot. Sunday would fall into the latter category as the team really should have been able to knock off the Lions and remain in control of a wild card spot.
10. Minnesota Vikings (5-4-1)
– Last Week: 7
The Vikings are going to need to win five more games the rest of the season to make the playoffs. A quick peak at their schedule shows four very winnable games, so they’ll need to either steal that game at New England, or bounce back at home against the Bears to get this talented squad into the postseason.
