Odds to Win the 2017 Grey Cup
Looking for Canadian football betting tips for the 2017 CFL season? The 2017 CFL season kicks off this weekend – hard to believe. Every team is in the hunt right now – everyone is hopeful to be the last team standing and all underdogs are hoping to be the next Ottawa Redblacks that parlayed an 8-9-1 Regular Season into a Championship. Lets get to the 2017 Grey Cup Futures Betting odds and predictions.
CFL Handicapping Insight
As per usual, the top teams according to Vegas come out of the West – the Stamps, the Lions and the Eskimos are betting favorites to win it all with Hamilton and Ottawa co-favorites to top the East.
So, heading into the season can we expect one of the favorites to reign supreme or is there some value down the board? Let’s take a look.
2017 Grey Cup Futures Betting: Calgary Stampeders +350
The Stampeders will be out to avenge a gut-wrenching 39-33 OT loss to the Ottawa Redblacks in last year’s Grey Cup.
Most of the offense that torched the league last year will be back led by perhaps the best QB in the game – Bo Levi Mitchell and last year’s league leader in rushing yards and TDs Jerome Messam will be back in the fold making Calgary and absolutely elite squad.

It is easy to love Calgary for sure but one cannot ignore the fact that the team didn’t get a whole lot better in the off-season opting for a more status-quo approach.
While there is nothing wrong with that, my feeling is that there is a team or two that did improve and are better picks to win it all starting with…
2017 Grey Cup Futures Betting: British Columbia Lions +500
The Lions were the second-best team in the CFL last season and only figure to get better with QB Jonathon Jennings having a full year under his belt.
Emmanuel Arceneaux, Bryan Burnham and Chris Williams will be there to catch passes from their second-year pivot and RB Chris Rainey is a serious weapon on what figures to be one of the better offenses in the game.
The thing that has me leaning BC’s way this year however is the defense.
Anthony Gaiter and Chandler Fenner make up one of the better secondaries in the league, Solomon Elimimian is poised to be one of the better linebackers in the game again, and the supporting cast is as good as any team’s in the game.

The clinching factor for me is the return of Wally Buono to the sidelines.
Calgary looks like the best team in the league again but in my opinion but BC is my pick to win it all. Why? It’s because the Lions are arguably the most balanced team in the game and the defense will pace the CFL in 2017.
Calgary and BC will fight it out with the Lions coming out on top and winning it all.
2017 Grey Cup Futures Betting: Edmonton Eskimos +550
The Eskimos have garnered a fair amount of attention heading into the season as well… and rightfully so. QB Mike Reilly makes this team a contender all by himself – he will be dangerous in the second year of Coach Jason Maas’s scheme.
Edmonton’s defense figures to be a force yet again under Defensive Coordinator Mike Benevides, particularly in the front four. Edmonton is a solid team that could be that sneaky team that replicates what the Redblacks did last year.
They are a good sleeper team at a non-sleeper price unfortunately.
2017 Grey Cup Futures Betting: Hamilton Tiger-Cats +700
A healthy Zach Callaros will help the Ti-Cats to be competitive but last year’s league-worst rushing attack did nothing to improve this offseason which is HUGE reason for concern.
But hey, another Eastern QB caught fire during last postseason and his team won it all! That said this is a team that went 1-6 at the end of last season and will field largely the same squad this year.
Of the Eastern teams Hamilton is my pick to make the Final however. Callaros, Brandon Banks, Luke Tasker and running back GJ Gable are all formidable.
2017 Grey Cup Futures Betting: Ottawa Redblacks +700
The Redblacks will be hard-pressed to repeat especially with the departure of emotional and field leader Henry Burris.

His playoff run was magical last season and while Drew Tate is a nice addition to the squad, he’s no Burris!
2017 Grey Cup Futures Betting: Montreal Alouettes +750
Ugh! It’s not going to be a fun season in Montreal.
2017 Grey Cup Futures Betting: Winnipeg Blue Bombers +800
Double ugh!
2017 Grey Cup Futures Betting: Saskatchewan Roughriders +800
In the stacked West anything less than a last place finish in the West will be a success for the Roughriders!
2017 Grey Cup Futures Betting: Toronto Argonauts +1200
Toronto finished 5-13 last season – they were 2-7 at home – not good. New management, new coaches and a familiar aging QB Ricky Ray will take to the field this year – the biggest boon for this team just may be Coach Mark Trestman who gives this team instant credibility.
But a Coach doesn’t run the ball, throw the ball, catch the ball or physically prevent other teams from scoring. Toronto WILL improve but they are still far from a serious Grey Cup contender.
