UFC Fight Night Picks
Ready for UFC Fight Night picks and betting odds & predictions? This UFC card will take place on Saturday, September 5th with a heavyweight headliner between former title challenger Alistair Overeem and newcomer Augusto Sakai. For a quick humble brag; I was scorching hot last weekend. I went 9-3 on the blog, 8-1 on bets, and hit my parlay of the week. Let’s stay hot rocket and have two bender weekends in a row.
Event: UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Sakai
Date: Saturday, September 5th, 2020
Time: 6:00 P.M. EST.
Location: UFC Apex, Las Vegas, Nevada
Broadcast: ESPN+
Main Event: Alistair Overeem vs. Augusto Sakai
Free UFC Fight Night Picks – I will be honest up front, I don’t have high sky expectations for this fight. I think it’s a fun bout stylistically, but it doesn’t scream 2020 UFC headliner.
Anyways, Overeem is coming off a really impressive comeback victory against Walt Harris earlier this year. He will look to stop the new up and comer Sakai, who was 9 years old when Overeem fought his first professional bout.
Sakai has won all three of his UFC bouts and has looked impressive doing so, most recently beating Blagoy Ivanov by decision. He will look to continue to his win streak against his toughest opponent yet.
As for this fight, I do not have too strong of a hunch because they have similiar styles. Overeem should look to land takedowns early to gas Sakai, but if that fails, Sakai may have his day. I think Overeem is the better grappler and if the fight does stay on the feet, he manages his distance a tad bit better.
MMA Betting Prediction: Alistair Overeem
Ovince Saint Preux vs. Alonzo Menifield
Free UFC Fight Night Picks – A fight that was booked but fell through due to a failed Covid test will take place in the co-main event slot.
I wrote about this fight a few weeks ago and to sum it up, Menifield is a 1 round fighter. Although his power is extreme, I think OSP should be able to stay out of harm’s way and win a decision or maybe pull out a late submission. I will rock with the slight underdog here, but Menifield by 1st round KO at +260 does have appealing value.
MMA Betting Prediction: Ovince Saint Preux (+)
Sijara Eubanks vs. Karol Rosa
I am not a huge fan of this fight from a betting perspective. Eubanks is the public backed pick, but the performance inconsistency is a cause of concern. I think Rosa should be able to find her shots and may squeak out a win, but this is a lean.
MMA Betting Prediction: Karol Rosa
Michel Pereira vs. Zelim Imadaev
I will take Michel solely because he is a crazy person, but I would NEVER cash a slip on him.
MMA Betting Prediction: Michel Pereira
Brian Kelleher vs. Kevin Natividad
Free UFC Fight Night Picks – Man, this should be an entertaining one, to say the least. Kelleher is a fighter’s fighter and owns the advantage in experience as well as better boxing. Natividad is making his UFC debut, but is a really fun prospect out of LFA.
I think Kelleher should be able to beat him with his boxing and powerful overhands. I am worried about his takedown defense, but I imagine he will be persistent with pressure.
MMA Betting Prediction: Brian Kelleher
Thiago Moises vs. Jalin Turner
I hate that Turner is receiving heavy public backing, I have liked him in this fight for quite some time, especially as an underdog. I fade the public, but can’t fade myself.
MMA Betting Prediction: Jalin Turner (+)

Alexander Romanov vs. Marcos Rogerio de Lima
MMA Betting Prediction: Romanov
This is a lean. Not huge on this fight.

MMA Betting Prediction: Azure
These odds are a little scary, but I like Azure here.
