The St. Louis Blues-Chicago Blackhawks series is quite possibly the most exciting of the entire first round, and the first two games didn’t fail to live up to the hype.
In a couple of defensive battles, both goaltenders were forced to stand on their heads. The series now returns to the Windy City as the Blackhawks welcome their Central Division rivals to town.
St. Louis
The Blues had a great chance to have a 2-0 series lead before taking to the road, but they couldn’t get the job done against a tremendous Blackhawks defense in Game 2.

The Blues are still in fine shape heading into Game 3 as they’ve done an excellent job holding the mighty Chicago offense to just 1.5 goals per game.
St. Louis must get its offense going if it wants to steal a game from the Blackhawks on the road. The Blues’ 2.67 goals per game during the regular season was 15th in the NHL and they haven’t done themselves any favors by only scoring three goals in the first two games of this series.
With Brian Elliott between the pipes, the Blues have themselves a tremendous chance to win. It’s all about scoring goals at this point.
Chicago
The Blackhawks got some momentum heading into Game 3. Chicago really stumbled down the final stretch of the regular season and started the playoffs without really playing that great.
And after getting shutout in Game 1, stealing a game in St. Louis was a much-needed shot in the arm to this Blackhawks team.
Corey Crawford, despite having a .924 save percentage during the regular season, has an astonishing save percentage of .940 in the first two postseason games against the Blues. Crawford and the Blackhawks always turn on the jets once the postseason rolls around.

They did the same thing last season and ended up hoisting their third Stanley Cup in the last six years.

Free St. Louis Blues vs. Chicago Blackhawks NHL Hockey Prediction
This game, as well as this series, will come down to goaltending. Both goalies have played out of their minds during the first two games, but which offense will finally turn up the heat?
I’ll give the Blackhawks the edge in this one simply because they have the better offense.
The home crowd inside the rowdy United Center will be sure to give their boys a competitive edge as well.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Blackhawks ML
Like the first two games, this one should be another defensive chess match.
With both defenses as talented as they are, it will only take one mistake for the other team to take advantage. With the Hawks playing in front of their home crowd, I think they’ll be the ones to capitalize.
