An NFC North battle will take place on Sunday when the Vikings head to Lambeau to take on the Packers.
Both squads picked up victories in the previous week. Minnesota won a nail-biter against the Giants and the Packers beat Miami 26-20.
A playoff spot for Green Bay is certainly not guaranteed, but they sure got some help over the weekend with certain teams not winning their games.
If the Pack win their remaining games and finish 9-8, there is a very strong chance they will be in the postseason. The idea of the playoffs did not seem very realistic for them just a little bit ago.
With the division clinched a while back, it does not mean motivation for the Vikings is gone. Although unlikely, they could still get the #1 overall seed in the NFC if they run the table and the Eagles slip up.
Minnesota Vikings
Continuously winning close games does not seem sustainable and it might not carry over to the postseason, but Minnesota continues to win games in that fashion. Another example of that came in week 16 with their 27-24 win over the Giants.
From watching that game on Saturday, I never really felt like anyone had real control of it. Sure, there were lead changes and momentum shifts, but the fact that it came down to the last play was far from a surprise.
Something we have seen a lot in 2022 with Minnesota is they are not the type of team to blow the opposition out. They have often been more talented than their opponent, but that has rarely led to them winning by wide margins.
For as impressive as the 61-yard kick by Joseph was, it really should not have come down to that. The Vikings had a chance to really bury the Giants, but their defense once again showed vulnerabilities when they let Daniel Jones & co. march down the field and tie it up.
Despite this team deserving some criticism following their last win, there were plenty of positive things. Kirk Cousins had another strong game and Justin Jefferson and T.J. Hockenson stepped up in big ways for them. Dalvin Cook did not the run ball poorly, but he could have been involved more than he was.
A common theme following a lot of their games has been to be critical of their defense and the bottom line is that is a big issue moving forward. This unit is very vulnerable and the chances of them being exposed are much higher when facing better teams. Although not a great offense, I am curious to see how they perform against Rodgers & his cast of characters.
Green Bay Packers
It was not all that long ago that the Packers seemed doomed in 2022. Heading into week 17, there is certainly more optimism surrounding this franchise.
Following their loss to the Eagles, they have rattled off three wins in a row. It has been far from perfect football, but it has been better than what it was earlier on in the season.
With all of that, it does not change their reality. They have two divisional home games remaining and they need to win both. That challenge starts this Sunday when they host a tricky Minnesota team.
Down 20-13 at the half on Sunday, a victory against the Dolphins did not seem very likely for them. They mostly looked lifeless in the first half and Miami looked like the better and more explosive team.
What really stood out for Green bay in their comeback victory was the defense and it was not just them picking off Tua 3 times. They played crisper, came up in the big spots, and held their opponent scoreless in the second half, which is never easy to do. For a group that has taken a lot of heat this season, they stepped up when they needed to in that spot.
Offensively, it was still evident that Rodgers does not have a ton of talent at his disposal, but there were some glimpses of positivity. Christian Watson continued to show what he is capable of while other pass catchers stepped up including Doubs, Lewis, and Lazard.
Green Bay will be in for a challenge once again when they host Minnesota. My biggest concern for the home team here would be how they are going to consistently get stops against an offense that often puts up plenty of stats and points.

4* Free Week 17 NFL Betting Prediction: Vikings +3
I liked what Green Bay was able to do in their last win, but I do not like them at this number in a spot like this.
Minnesota has plenty of flaws and I am not sold on them completely, but I still view them as the better team that is more than capable of going on the road and keeping it close/getting the win.
Both defenses clearly need a lot of work and I feel that will be on display in this one. With the Vikings having more firepower on offense, I actually have more confidence in them on Sunday.
A lot of teams cannot handle going to Lambeau in the winter, but that has not been the case for Minnesota in a while. I like them grabbing the points in a game that I expect to be competitive.
