NASCAR Handicapping
The NASCAR Cup Series visits the desert this weekend in the first of two trips to Phoenix Raceway. Christopher Bell arrives in Phoenix having won back to back races, with wins in Atlanta and COTA. He’ll come to Phoenix where he won last year with his sights set on a third consecutive win.
This is the fourth race on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule. William Byron remains the leader in the standings thus far after winning the first two races of the season, while Ryan Blaney sits second despite not yet having a win himself.
NASCAR 2025 Shriners Children’s 500 Race Odds: Christopher Bell +500 (Bet Now!)
Bell enters this week as the betting favorite as he continues to cement his spot as one of the top drivers in NASCAR’s top circuit. Following his controversial win in Atlanta, Bell didn’t’ leave room for any doubt with a convincing win in Austin. The Joe Gibbs Racing star pulled away in the final laps for his second consecutive victory.
Now Bell looks to make it three wins in a row. He won in Phoenix last March, so it’s well within the realm of possibility he can continue riding this hot streak to another checkered flag in the desert.
NASCAR 2025 Shriners Children’s 500 Race Odds: Kyle Larson +650 (Bet Now!)
Larson’s 2024 was a memorable one, but it’s been a forgettable year thus far for the Hendrick Motorsports star. He was one of the favorites to win that one and jumpstart his season, but when the checkered flag came out he finished with a disappointing P32.
The schedule gets more favorable for Larson in the coming weeks, starting with this week’s race in Phoenix, where Larson is a fixture among the top contenders every time the Cup Series arrives. However, he’s only won here once before, and that was back in 2021.
NASCAR Odds: Denny Hamlin +1000 (Bet Now!)
Hamlin had a forgettable weekend in Austin. He had his sights set on his first victory of the season, but instead he was caught up in traffic for most of the day and ended up finishing P21 continuing a disappointing start to the year.
Hamlin will look to turn things around at Phoenix Raceway where he’ll be competing for the 40th time in the Cup Series. He’s won here twice, with the last coming in 2019. A third win here could serve to jump start his season so it’d be a great time for him to break through.
NASCAR Odds: Chase Elliott +1000 (Bet Now!)
It was a long day for Elliott in Austin after he was spun in the first turn of the race by Ross Chastain, but he was able to battle back from that and ended up with an impressive finish as he climbed all the way to P4 in the end.
Elliott’s won at Phoenix Raceway before, back as part of clinching the 2020 Cup Series title. This race will mark his 18th in the desert since joining the NASCAR Cup Series.
NASCAR Odds: Chase Briscoe +1200 (Bet Now!)
Briscoe was on the pole at the Daytona 500, and that’s about the biggest impact he’s had in his debut season with Joe Gibbs Racing. He rode well in Austin, qualifying P18 and finishing P14 when all was said and done at COTA.
Since becoming a full time driver in the Cup Series, Briscoe’s performed well at Phoenix, and oddsmakers have taken notice. He won here back in 2022, and we could see the No. 19 Toyota first to cross the finish line in the desert this week.
