2026 Bank of America 400 Betting Odds & Race Preview
2026 NASCAR Bank of America 400 Race Prediction coverage is here as the Cup Series heads to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the sixth race of the Chase. CappersPicks.com breaks down the Charlotte contenders, betting odds, track history, and five outright NASCAR picks for Sunday afternoon.
Denny Hamlin opens as the +425 favorite, with Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson right behind him at +450. The sportsbook isn’t exactly giving anything away at the top.
That’s fine. We’ve got three shorter-priced drivers I like and a pair of 50-to-1 shots to make things considerably more interesting.

Bank of America 400 NASCAR Betting Preview
The NASCAR Cup Series leaves Las Vegas and heads to Charlotte Motor Speedway with the Chase moving into its second half. This is race No. 6 of the 10-race Chase, and this time we’re racing on Charlotte’s main oval rather than the Roval. Phoenix, Talladega, Martinsville and Homestead-Miami remain after this weekend.
Kyle Larson arrives on top of the points standings, followed by Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney and Chase Briscoe.
Briscoe made the biggest move last week in Las Vegas. He swept Stage 1 and Stage 2 before winning his second race of the season.
That’ll help the résumé.
Christopher Bell, Kyle Larson and Joey Logano account for the other Chase victories through the first five postseason races, with Larson winning twice. Meanwhile, Tyler Reddick won five times during the regular season, Hamlin won four and Blaney won three. None has won yet during the postseason.
Bank of America 400 Chase Standings & Charlotte Form
Larson’s second-place finish at Las Vegas helped extend his points lead to 40 over Hamlin. Hamlin had the pole and fastest lap in Vegas but finished 18th. NASCAR has a funny way of reminding us that having a fast car and cashing the ticket aren’t always the same thing.
Now we get Charlotte, where several of this week’s contenders already have plenty of useful history.
My 2026 NASCAR Bank of America 400 Race Prediction isn’t going to ignore what these drivers have done on high-speed 1.5-mile tracks either. Hamlin, Larson and Briscoe have given us enough evidence on this track type to earn their spots on the card.
Then we’ll get considerably more adventurous.
Bank of America 400 History & Past Winners
Charlotte hasn’t given us a long list of recent Bank of America 400 winners to work with, but the names we do have aren’t exactly random. Hendrick Motorsports appears twice in the supplied history, with Chase Elliott winning in 2020 and Jimmie Johnson taking the 2016 race. Martin Truex Jr. won for Furniture Row Racing in 2017.
Past Bank of America 400 Winners
- 2020 – #9 Chase Elliott – Hendrick Motorsports
- 2017 – #78 Martin Truex Jr. – Furniture Row Racing
- 2016 – #48 Jimmie Johnson – Hendrick Motorsports
Complete NASCAR Bank of America 400 Betting Odds
Denny Hamlin leads the board at +425, with Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson both +450. Chase Briscoe follows at +600, while Tyler Reddick rounds out the first five at +750.

2026 Bank of America 400 Free Picks
My 2026 NASCAR Bank of America 400 Race Prediction card gives us three legitimate contenders near the top and two 50-to-1 swings farther down. Denny Hamlin +425, Kyle Larson +450 and Chase Briscoe +600 aren’t going to impress anybody looking strictly for giant prices.
I’m trying to cash tickets, not win an award for creativity.
Ross Chastain +5000 and Daniel Suarez +5000 give us the fun stuff. Five outrights. That’s enough.
2026 Bank of America 400 Pick:
Denny Hamlin is the favorite, and I’m not going to talk myself off him simply because +425 isn’t sexy. Hamlin won on this track in the 2022 Coca-Cola 600 and owns the fourth-best average Next Gen finish at Charlotte at 12.0.
More importantly for this week, he’s been outstanding on high-speed 1.5-mile tracks this season with a 4.6 average finish. He finished third in the spring race at Charlotte after taking fourth in Stage 1, winning Stage 2 and leading 75 laps.
That’s enough for me.
After 20-plus years of betting NASCAR, I’ve learned that passing on the obvious contender solely because you wanted a prettier number is a wonderful way to feel clever right up until the checkered flag.
Denny Hamlin +425 is my first outright.
2026 Bank of America 400 Pick:
Kyle Larson has taken control of the Chase and brings a 40-point lead over Hamlin into Charlotte. He’s won here before, taking the 2021 race, and his recent work on high-speed 1.5-mile tracks makes +450 difficult to ignore.
Larson has finished first and second in the last two Chase races on this track type. Take Texas and Chicagoland out of the equation and his average finish on high-speed 1.5-mile tracks this season drops to 3.4. He also finished fifth at Charlotte in the spring.
Sometimes handicapping NASCAR doesn’t require a NASA launch sequence.
The points leader is rolling, the track type works and he’s already won here.
Kyle Larson +450 makes the card.
2026 Bank of America 400 Pick:
Chase Briscoe isn’t exactly sneaking into Charlotte.
He just won at Las Vegas after sweeping both stages, and that victory vaulted him up the standings. Briscoe also owns two victories on high-speed 1.5-mile tracks this season and has an average finish of 2.0 over the last three races on this track type.
Charlotte has treated him well in the Next Gen era too, with a pair of top-four finishes.
We’re paying +600, so the sportsbook clearly noticed. So did I.
Nobody hands out a discount because we found the driver one week after everybody else watched him win.
Chase Briscoe +600 is outright No. 3.
2026 Bank of America 400 Longshot Pick:
Now we can start screwing around a little.
Ross Chastain is sitting at +5000 despite winning here last year. He’s also graded out well at Charlotte during the Next Gen era, where he’s regularly been around the top 10.
The ugly number is his 35th-place finish in the spring. A crash had plenty to do with that.
I’ve lost enough NASCAR bets to know the finishing position doesn’t always tell you what the car was capable of doing.
At 50-to-1, I’m not asking Chastain to come with seat warmers and a warranty. I’m asking for enough evidence to justify a small swing. A recent Charlotte winner at this price qualifies.
Ross Chastain +5000 is my first longshot.
2026 Bank of America 400 Longshot Pick:
Daniel Suarez gives us the second 50-to-1 ticket. He won the spring race at Charlotte, and apparently the sportsbook would like us to forget that happened.
Fine by me.
Suarez came back down to Earth after the victory, so I’m not pretending we’re getting some unstoppable Charlotte specialist hiding halfway down the board. We’re getting 50-to-1 on the guy who won the last Cup race here.
That’s different.
Big prices are supposed to have questions attached. Otherwise they wouldn’t be big prices. The return to Charlotte gives Suarez enough of an argument for the smallest type of outright wager I’m willing to make.
Daniel Suarez +5000 completes my five-driver card.

Bank of America 400 Mid-Tier & Longshot Bets
Christopher Bell +450 and Tyler Reddick +750 sit around our shorter-priced plays, while Ty Gibbs +1000 and Ryan Blaney +1200 provide the first move into double digits. William Byron and Joey Logano are both +1400. Austin Cindric follows at +1800, with Chase Elliott, Bubba Wallace and Carson Hocevar each +2000.
Then the board starts getting considerably more interesting.
Chastain and Suarez are both +5000 and make my 2026 NASCAR Bank of America 400 Race Prediction card. Josh Berry and Brad Keselowski sit beside them at the same price.
There are plenty of names available. That doesn’t mean I need tickets on all of them.
Bank of America 400 Longshot Odds
Once we’re into these numbers, I’m looking for a specific reason to get involved.
Chastain gives us Charlotte history. Suarez gives us the spring victory. Everybody else has to convince me after practice, qualifying or through a different betting option.
- Corey Heim +3500
- Chris Buescher +4000
- Josh Berry +5000
- Ross Chastain +5000
- Brad Keselowski +5000

How I’m Betting the Bank of America 400
I’m not unloading the whole damn bankroll before the green flag. Hamlin, Larson and Briscoe are short enough that Top-5s, Top-10s and matchups may offer better value, and I’ll wait for practice before adding anything else. Show me the long-run speed and how these cars handle traffic.
Charlotte gives us several hours to find another bet, and after 20-plus years doing this, I’ve learned there’s no prize for having every ticket punched before Sunday afternoon.
Sometimes the smartest bet is the one you don’t force.
2026 Bank of America 400 Race Prediction: Final Thoughts
My 2026 NASCAR Bank of America 400 Race Prediction gives us Denny Hamlin +425, Kyle Larson +450, Chase Briscoe +600, Ross Chastain +5000 and Daniel Suarez +5000.
Hamlin brings the Charlotte and 1.5-mile numbers. Larson arrives leading the Chase with excellent recent form on this track type. Briscoe just won Vegas and has been terrific on high-speed 1.5-mile tracks.
Then Chastain and Suarez give us two 50-to-1 tickets with Charlotte victories already sitting on their résumés.
Three contenders. Two bombs.
Five is enough. I don’t need half the damn garage working against the other half of my betting card.
