NASCAR Handicapping
NASCAR makes its move to New Hampshire and the Magic Mile for Sunday’s USA Today 301. Martin
Truex Jr. is among the favorites this week despite failing to pick up a victory over the first 17 races of the
season thanks to his convincing victory here last year. He swept the first two stages and led 254 laps en
route to the victory.
Ten drivers have recorded a win this season, so the drivers have spread the love around this season,
making things tougher than normal on bettors and oddsmakers alike. This race has had many names in
recent years, including the Crayon 301 and the Ambetter 301, and before that it was the Foxwoods
Resort Casino 301. This year a field of 36 drivers will five for the USA Today 301 crown.
The postseason is right around the corner, so all drivers will be pushing harder than at any point this
season. Chase Elliott is the new leader in the standings following last week’s third place finish in Iowa.
Denny Hamlin is coming off back-to-back forgettable showings, so he’ll try to right the ship in New
Hampshire where he has three victories already.

NASCAR 2024 USA Today 301 Race Odds: Christopher Bell +450
It’s not fun to take the race favorite, but in this case, it could potentially be profitable. Bell has been terrific on this track in his career. He finished second and first in two career Truck Series starts. In the Xfinity Series, he won all three races here. And in the Cup Series he’s been strong here as well, finishing second, first, and 29th in three races for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Last year’s poor finish was the result of a late spin out where he hit the wall. Prior to that he compiled the second-most fast laps. He’s been consistently good on shorter, flat tracks this season, and expect that to continue this weekend.
NASCAR 2024 USA Today 301 Race Odds: Martin Truex Jr. +500
Truex showed good speed to start the season but hasn’t finished inside the top 10 in his last five races. But now he’s back to New Hampshire where he dominated last year. Since 2016, his worst finish on this track is 12th. Good spot for him to get back to the forefront of the Joe Gibbs Racing team.

NASCAR Odds: Kyle Larson +800
Larson’s been at the forefront of the NASCAR spotlight of late, particularly for attempting his double at the Indianapolis 500 a couple weeks back, but he’s bee worthy of attention for his on-track performance as well.
Larson has two victories and a second place finish in his last six races. Coming off a 34th place finish thanks to a wreck last weekend, he’ll look to get back on track this week with another solid performance.
NASCAR Odds: Joey Logano +800
Logano’s Team Penske teammates have each racked up a win over the past three weeks. Now it’s the native New Englander who’s in the spotlight. Logano has two top-six finishes in the last three weeks. He’s won here once under the Penske umbrella, but has always been competitive on this track.
NASCAR Odds: Chase Elliott +1600
Elliott’s third place finish at Iowa was his seventh top-five finish in his last 11 starts. The new points leader hasn’t been in this position since 2022, but this extra feather in his cap will surely provide him extra motivation to come away from this weekend with his second victory. He has only three top 10 finishes in 10 starts here, but his average finish of 14.4 shows he hasn’t been completely out of the running here.
