NASCAR saw a historic crash on Lap 183 at Talladega impact 28 drivers, but the drivers will be back looking to draw the chckered flag this weekend on the road course in Charlotte after last weekend’s superspeedway race.
Only one driver in the field has already clinched a spot in the Round of 8, with William Byron earning that position.
NASCAR Handicapping
Now only one race remains until the field for the 2024 NASCAR playoffs is cut from 12 drivers to eight, with Charlotte Motor Speedway hosting that final event this Sunday for the Bank of America Roval 400.
Chevrolet has wins in four of the last six Cup races held on the Roval.
NASCAR 2024 Bank of America Roval 400 Race Odds: Shane van Gisbergen +575
Van Gisbergen is a regular on the Xfinity but always pops up near the top of the odds board on road courses. He has one top five finish and two top 10s in three road course races in the Cup series this year following his very memorable Cup debut in Chicago.

NASCAR 2024 Bank of America Roval 400 Race Odds: Kyle Larson +750
Larson is coming off a confidence building P4 at Talladega. Now he’ll look to add to his five road course wins since the start of 2021. He’s 52 points above the Round of 12 cut line, so hopefully he keeps his focus and doesn’t arrive in North Carolina overconfident, but that may be the biggest hurdle he faces this weekend in a race that otherwise sets up quite well for him.
Excelling a week ago in what was supposed to be a down race for No. 5 gave a real boost to his title hopes. His 52 point margin feels comfortable but he won here in 2021 so if he can avoid looking ahead to the Round of 8 he should be right back in contention again this year.
Bet On Kyle Larsen +750 Bank of America Roval 400 Odds
NASCAR Odds: AJ Allmendinger +850
Allmendinger is another one of NASCAR’s road course aces. He dominated the second half of last season’s race to win his second career road course race.
With many of the top drivers focused on the points standings, Allmendinger will be available to drive free and put his best on display.
Bet On AJ Allmendinger +850 Bank of America Roval 400 Odds
NASCAR Odds: Tyler Reddick +900
Reddick didn’t quite match his win there from the spring, but Reddick did well enough in Talladega thanks to a strong performance in the first stage to compensate for his final result of 20th. Now he’ll show off what he can do as one of the best road course racers in NASCAR.
He’ll do so from a comfortable position in the points standing, but he can certainly do himself a favor with a strong performance in a race he was runner-up in 2021. Since then he has a pair of top eight finishes, so we know he can run well on this track.
Bet On Tyler Reddick +900 Bank of America Roval 400 Odds
NASCAR Odds: Chase Elliott +1100
Skipping over Byron who sits comfortably with his ticket already punched to the Round of 8. Next on the odds board is Elliott, who’s coming off an extremely disappointing 29th-place result in a race that was supposed to be one of his best, not one where he’d turn in his second-worst finish of the season.
Elliott currently sits as the last driver into the Round of 8, but that shouldn’t worry him too much because he’s been as good a driver as any at the Charlotte Roval, racking up consecutive wins in 2019 and 2020, leading at least 15 laps in four of the last five races on this track.
