NASCAR Handicapping
The season is well underway and this weekend we head to Richmond Virginia for the Toyota Owners 400. Back in April of 2021, it was Alex Bowman that won the race and he is currently +1800 to repeat.
NASCAR 2022 Toyota Owners 400 Race Odds: Kyle Larson +900
Kyle Larson had a big season last season but it seems it has taken a little bit of getting used to the new car and I think he will continue to struggle again in this one. He is also averaging an 11th place finish so far during his career in 14 career starts at Richmond Speedway.
I expect Larson is going to struggle to get even in the top 10, and there is no value laying this type of number with him. Stay far away from Kyle Larson in this one.
NASCAR 2022 Toyota Owners 400 Race Odds: Martin Truex Jr. +1000
Martin Truex Jr is the driver that should probably be the favorite in this race, even if he hasn’t had the best start to this season. He won both races at Richmond is 2019 and he won the fall race in 2020. In the spring race, he had a top five finish and even though there is the new car, this is clearly a spot that he is very comfortable racing at.
NASCAR 2022 Toyota Owners 400 Race Odds: Ross Chastain +1200
Ross Chastain historically hasn’t been very good at Richmond, but he is one of the hottest racers coming in. He has had three straight top-three finishes and with a new car some drivers have struggled, but it’s clear that he is enjoying the new setup. Chastain might not have the most confidence at Richmond, but he should feel good about the way he has played as of late.
NASCAR 2022 Toyota Owners 400 Race Odds: Chase Briscoe +1800
Chase Briscoe isn’t getting enough respect with this number. Briscoe didn’t look great last season, but it looks like this season is going to be different. Briscoe was impressive in Phoenix leading over 100 laps, and it’s clear that he is very comfortable in the new car. Briscoe is going to have the car to be near the front, and he has proven so far this season that he is a driver that can compete at this level. I look for Briscoe to have a very successful Sunday.

2022 Toyota Owners 400 Betting Prediction: Winner – Martin Truex Jr (+1000)
Martin Truex Jr has had so much success on this race track and even though this season hasn’t gotten off to a good start he will still find success in this one.
Look for Truex Jr to stay near the front of the race the entire time and with a fast car he is going to make the winning moves late to secure the victory.
