Pitching will be key however, in this meeting, and the Dodgers will hand the ball to Mat Latos (4-9, 4.76 ERA) in Game 1.
The right-hander won a 5-2 decision over the Cubs at home his last time out, allowing two earned runs on four hits, while striking out five.

San Diego Padres
The Padres continue to struggle, losing two of three to Texas, including Wednesday’s 4-3, 10-inning loss. They have now lost seven of their last 10 games.
The Friars lone bright spot has been Justin Upton, who leads the team in slugging and home runs. He us 10-for-20 with two homers against Latos, while former Dodgers Matt Kemp is hasn’t hit a single home run in 45 at-bats against his former club.
The Padres will look to slow down the LA bats by sending eight-hander Colin Rea (2-2, 5.95 ERA) to the hill for the Padres on Thursday.
Rea has lost his last two outings after winning his first two major-league starts, giving up four runs and six hits in five frames to Philadelphia his last time out. This will be his first start against the Dodgers.
