2026 NCAAF Handicapping – Florida Gators vs Georgia Bulldogs
Gators vs. Bulldogs Gameday
The No. 17 Florida Gators face the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Kickoff is 3:30 PM ET on ABC, with this SEC rivalry temporarily moving from Jacksonville.
Florida enters at 5-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play under Jon Sumrall. The Gators have won 2 of their 3 road games.
Florida has already pulled off one major upset, and Georgia would be wise not to dismiss the Gators.
The Gators are coming off a 27-24 win at Texas. That result restored some confidence after a difficult stretch against SEC competition.
Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs are 6-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play. Georgia remains among the nation’s top-ranked teams despite a recent setback.
Auburn handed the Bulldogs a 27-24 defeat on October 17. Georgia has had an open week to address its mistakes, and Smart probably didn’t spend it handing out compliments.
The Bulldogs have won 5 straight meetings in this rivalry, including a 24-20 decision last season. Florida hasn’t beaten Georgia since 2020.
Both teams arrive rested, with the Bulldogs chasing another SEC title and the Gators looking to shake up the standings. A neutral-site showdown adds another wrinkle to an already heated matchup.
It’s Week 9, Florida Gators vs. Georgia Bulldogs, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Georgia is listed at -461 on the moneyline, with Florida returning +353. The Bulldogs are favored by 11.5 points, and the total is 56.0.
The spread gives Georgia considerable respect despite the neutral setting. Florida will need to avoid the defensive breakdowns that have hurt it against stronger opponents.
The Gators beat Ole Miss 52-28 earlier this season. Their losses came against Missouri 45-17 and South Carolina 38-19.
Georgia’s recent wins include Alabama 20-17, Vanderbilt 38-14, Oklahoma 41-13 and Arkansas 45-17. The Bulldogs have shown they can win both tight contests and one-sided affairs.

Bulldogs Stats
Georgia has scored 301 points through 7 games, averaging 43.0 PPG. The Bulldogs have gained 1,905 passing yards and 1,384 rushing yards, giving them a balanced offense.
Dwight Phillips Jr. leads the rushing attack with 348 yards and 2 TDs. He figures to handle additional responsibility with Chauncey Bowens unavailable.
Bowens has contributed 6 rushing TDs this season. His absence leaves Georgia without one of its most productive short-yardage options.
Georgia has the offensive talent to score in bunches, but Auburn proved the Bulldogs aren’t untouchable.
The Bulldogs have allowed 111 points, an average of 15.9 PPG. Opponents have managed only 91.4 rushing YPG against Georgia’s defense.
Georgia has registered 22 sacks and recovered 7 opposing fumbles. That pressure and turnover production can quickly change field position.
KJ Bolden and Isiah Canion are questionable. Their availability could affect Georgia’s secondary and receiving depth.
Tyriq Green, Amaris Williams and Thomas Blackshear are out. The Bulldogs will need their remaining depth to hold up against Florida.
Gators Stats
Florida has scored 277 points through 7 games, averaging 39.6 PPG. The Gators have accumulated 1,796 passing yards and 1,360 rushing yards.
Jadan Baugh leads the backfield with 763 rushing yards and 13 TDs. His production has been essential to Florida’s ability to sustain drives.
Dallas Wilson has caught 29 passes for 403 yards and 3 TDs. He gives Florida another dangerous option in the passing game.
The Gators have surrendered 198 points, an average of 28.3 PPG. Their defense has been considerably less reliable than the offense.
Florida has registered 22 sacks, 4 interceptions and 5 fumble recoveries. Creating pressure has been one of the unit’s more dependable strengths.
Vernell Brown III is questionable after a setback with his knee injury. Bailey Stockton is also questionable, leaving Florida with some uncertainty at receiver.
Duke Clark and Jaden Robinson have been ruled out. Those absences will test the Gators’ depth against a physical Georgia team.
Gators vs. Bulldogs QB Matchup
Gunner Stockton leads Georgia with 1,570 passing yards, 16 TDs and 4 interceptions through 7 games. He’s completed 117 of 158 attempts, a 74.1% rate.
Stockton has been particularly effective at distributing the football. His accuracy allows Georgia to maintain drives without depending on deep throws.
Ryan Puglisi provides depth behind Stockton. He’s passed for 252 yards and 2 TDs without an interception.
Stockton remains Georgia’s starter. His decision-making will be important against a Florida defense capable of getting pressure.
Florida is expected to start Aaron Philo after he missed the Texas game with a shoulder injury. He’s thrown for 1,341 yards, 9 TDs and 3 interceptions in 6 appearances.
Philo has completed 105 of 149 passes, a 70.5% rate. He’s listed as probable heading into Saturday.
Tramell Jones Jr. started against Texas and helped deliver the upset. He’s thrown for 407 yards, 4 TDs and 2 interceptions this season.

Stockton has been the more productive passer, while Philo returns after missing Florida’s latest game. Both QBs have demonstrated strong accuracy when healthy.
Georgia will test Philo’s ability to handle pressure, particularly after his shoulder issue. Florida needs its QB to make sound decisions against a defense that punishes mistakes.
Florida Gators vs. Georgia Bulldogs bottom line: Georgia has the stronger defense and recent rivalry advantage, but Florida’s offensive talent gives the Gators a chance to challenge the Bulldogs in Atlanta.

Gators Bulldogs Free Pick: Florida Gators +11.5
Here is my Gators Bulldogs free pick: I’m taking Florida Gators +11.5. Georgia deserves to be favored, but laying double digits against a ranked SEC rival is asking plenty, especially after the Bulldogs just lost to Auburn.
Florida has covered 3 of the L5 meetings, and the Gators have enough offensive talent to make Georgia earn this one. I don’t need an upset. I need Florida to keep the Bulldogs from running away with it.
Georgia has owned this rivalry lately, but the sportsbooks aren’t paying us for picking the winner.
Florida’s best chance is to establish Baugh early and keep Georgia from dictating every possession. That would take pressure off Philo and limit the Bulldogs’ opportunities to build a big lead.
My biggest concern is Georgia’s pass rush forcing turnovers. Give the Bulldogs short fields, and those 11.5 points can disappear in a hurry.
Still, I see a tougher game than this spread suggests. Florida has the personnel to trade punches, and Georgia hasn’t earned my trust laying this kind of number. I’ll take the points with Florida Gators +11.5.
