Handicapping 2018 NBA Basketball Futures Odds
According to our best NBA sportsbooks Here’s a look at the final four teams, their odds, and who has the best chance to win it all.
2018 NBA Finals Lines: Golden State Warriors 5/8
The Golden State Warriors came into the playoffs tied with the Houston Rockets for the best odds to win Finals, and now one month later they are back to being heavy favorites.
The last month of the NBA season they looked a little lost, but now with Stephen Curry back they look like a completely different team.
They did lose one game in the last series against the New Orleans Pelicans, but besides that they looked like the team was in complete control.
The three point shooting was on, and the Pelicans had no chance to keep up.
If they continue to shoot like they did from deep, it’s hard to imagine that any team can beat them. but the team with the best chance they do play in this round, the Houston Rockets.
2018 NBA Finals Lines: Houston Rockets 5/2
The Houston Rockets will have home-court advantage throughout the playoffs and that will be a huge key. They have a roster loaded with talent led by James Harden and Chris Paul.
Both of these guys have been known as a failure in the playoffs, but so far that hasn’t been the case. If they can get past the Warriors I think they win the title, but that’s a huge if.
The x-factor the rest of the playoffs for the Rockets is Clint Capela. He is a huge mismatch against the Warriors and he is going to need to have a huge series.
James Harden and Chris Paul also need to play well in both games, and if they can do that they have a shot to win the series.
The Play: Rockets 5/2
2018 NBA Finals Lines: Cleveland Cavaliers 13/2
There is a big drop off in terms of odds going over to the Eastern Conference teams. but one thing has already been shown this postseason, when a team has LeBron James, you can’t cut them out.
It took seven games against the Indiana Pacers, but in the second round it was a different story. and they dominated the Toronto Raptors.
The big positive for this team heading into the Eastern Conference Finals is that the rest of the team seems to finally be stepping around him.
In the first round it was all LeBron James who won the series against the Pacers, but in the second series it was more of a team effort that got the job done.
2018 NBA Finals Lines: Boston Celtics 30/1
The Boston Celtics are another team that has been counted out all postseason, but yet here they are in the Eastern Conference Finals.
It seems like most games a new guy gets injured but Brad Stevens isn’t afraid to use anyone on his bench and that has led to a lot of success.
They are going to have their hands full against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and if they were to win I don’t see any path to victory against the Western Conference Finals winner.
Although their story has been nice, and their odds are a really nice payout, this still isn’t a team I don’t think is worth even throwing a few bucks on. I don’t think they will even make it past the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Here are the 2018 NBA title odds in their entirety:
- Golden State Warriors 5/8
- Houston Rockets 5/2
- Cleveland Cavaliers 13/2
- Boston Celtics 30/1
