Let’s take a look in Ray Monohan’s Week 9 NFL Power Rankings.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (7-1)
– Last Week: 1
Each week the Eagles keep answering the bell. The team is powered by its offense, no doubt, with a slew of weapons at all positions and an offensive line that makes the whole thing go. But Philadelphia’s defense deserves a lot of the credit for the success the team’s been having.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (6-2)
– Last Week: 3
After back-to-back losses and a lengthy layoff following a Thursday night matchup, the Chiefs needed a statement win to get their season back on track, and they got just what they needed under the lights on Monday night.

The Chiefs were dominant in all facets on their home field in a convincing win over the rival Broncos. If there’s a Chiefs team that can end the playoff woes this group has experienced in recent years, this is the one.
3. New England Patriots (6-2)
– Last Week: 2
The Patriots drop a spot despite coming off a victory because the team’s offense continues to sputter. The group’s had a tough time finding an extra gear this season as they continue to work without two key pieces from the offense a year ago in Julian Edelman and LeGarrette Blount.
4. Seattle Sehawks (5-2)
– Last Week: 4
Russell Wilson may be the league’s MVP when all is said and done. The team’s defense has shown some warts, but that’s a solid group that can hold when it needs to.
The team went out and acquired Duane Brown to anchor the offensive line from the left tackle spot. It’s good to see them finally address that situation.
5. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2)
– Last Week: 5
The Steelers are a Super Bowl contender and continue to win with regularity, but they’re not doing it the way anyone expected.

The Steelers’ offense continues to be shaky, but the defense has really solidified after needing a few years for its young core to come together. They’re going to be a scary opponent come playoff time.
6. Minnesota Vikings (6-2)
– Last Week: 6
The Vikings are running away with the NFC North, with the Packers and Lions fading fast. The team’s offense has been able to brush off injuries to Sam Bradford and Dalvin Cook, and the defense remains as strong as ever.
7. Dallas Cowboys (4-3)
– Last Week: 7
Just as the Cowboys get back on track, they’ll need to weather the next six games on their schedule with Ezekiel Elliott on the sidelines. If there’s a team that can do it, the Cowboys are a strong candidate. They have the offensive line to keep their running game churning out yards, while Dak Prescott continues to evolve as a passer.
8. New Orleans Saints (5-2)
– Last Week: 8
For years the Saints were a one-dimensional team that could put up points with the best of them, but couldn’t stop opponents from lighting them up. The team’s defense has solidified with a vastly improved secondary. And with Drew Brees and Sean Payton still at the controls on offense, this is a dangerous team on both sides of the ball.
9. Carolina Panthers (5-3)
– Last Week: 10
When the Panthers are on, they’re a solid team. Keeping some level of consistency in their play is going to be key the rest of the way. They need to figure out a way to avoid the massive pitfalls that have hit them like a ton of bricks three times this season.
10. Houston Texans (3-4)
– Last Week: 11
The Texans move up a spot despite the fact that they’re coming off a loss after showing off the major strides forward their offense has taken with a very impressive game in Seattle, no less.
Deshaun Watson has rejuvenated Bill O’Brien’s offense, with that side of the ball now the side that’s carrying this team.

They’ll need to stay together and avoid splintering follow some divisive comments by their owner.
