Last thing. We only rank 10 teams. We believe in keeping it simple!
Let’s get to them!
Cappers Picks Week 4 NFL Power Rankings
San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers won their 13th straight regular season game, beating the New York Giants 30-12. McCaffrey scored a touchdown in his 12th consecutive game, while Samuel caught one of Brock Purdy’s two TD passes. The Niners keep getting penalties, 9 for 71 yards. They gotta fix that.
Up next, the 49ers host Arizona on October 1st.
2. Kansas City Chiefs
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. Simple as that. Now, the game: Mahomes threw for 272 yards, 3 TDs. Kelce caught 7 passes, including a score. Chiefs crushed Bears 41-10, and Coach Reid’s 271 wins surpassed Tom Landry. While their performance against the Bears was impressive, we should hold off judgment as far as moving them up to #1 until they face a more stable opponent.
Up next, the Chiefs face the Jets on Sunday night.
3. Philadelphia Eagles
Hurts has won 20 out of his last 21 regular-season games. The Eagles are undefeated but not flawless, aiming to improve on their 3-0 start, a rare feat not seen since 1992-93. D’Andre Swift rushed for 130 yards on 16 carries. The Eagles’ defense ranks 2nd in takeaways with 8.
Next up, the Eagles host NFC East foe Washington this Sunday.
4. Buffalo Bills
The Bills crushed the Commanders, winning 37-3. Buffalo (2-1) has dominated, scoring 75-13 since their Week 1 loss to the New York Jets. They sacked Howell nine times and had four interceptions. Wow! Bernard, in his third start at middle linebacker for the Bills, is becoming a rising star in the NFL.
Next up. The Bills will face Miami, who are still undefeated, next Sunday after the Dolphins scored 70 points.
Cappers Picks Week 4 NFL Power Rankings Coming In At #5. Miami Dolphins
I thought the Bills game was an ass-whoopin’. The Dolphins set a scoring record, tallying 70 points against the Broncos, the highest in NFL since ’66. Hill got a 54-yard TD and 157 yards on 9 catches. Mostert and rookie Achane each scored 4 TDs. Miami scored touchdowns on 8 of 9 drives, then Mike White replaced Tua.
Next, they face Buffalo on Oct. 1.
6. Dallas Cowboys
Pinch me, I must be dreaming. WTF was that? The Cowboys (2-1) had 13 penalties. Prescott was so-so, with 25 of 40 passes, 249 yards, 1 TD, and 1 interception. Arizona dominated from the start. Dallas looked like one of the best teams in the NFL through two weeks, but this week they were just pure UGLY.
Next up, Cowboys host New England next Sunday.
7. Seattle Seahawks
The Panthers had a tough time with the noise, while the Seahawks almost gave the game away several times, but their fans kept them going. The offense leaned on a strong running game, with Walker III rushing for 97 yards and 2x second-half TDs. Charbonnet added 46 yards, and Myers nailed 5 field goals, securing a 37-27 win over the Panthers.
Next up, the Seahawks face the Giants on Monday.
8. Baltimore Ravens
That’s about as tough a loss as there is in the NFL. Rarely does a kicker outshine Justin Tucker, but Matt Gay did it Sunday. Forget kickers. The Ravens (2-1) blew two OT chances, lost 22-19 to Indy. Jackson rushed for 101 yards, 2 TDs, not sufficient. Injuries piled up: Beckham Jr., Humphrey, Edwards, Ojabo.
Next up: Ravens at Browns on Sunday.
9. Detroit Lions
The Lions made history by defeating the Falcons 20-6 in Week 3, handing them their first loss of the season. Detroit’s defense stifled Atlanta’s 4th-ranked rushing game, allowing only 44 yards. Goff had a solid performance, throwing for 243 yards, a touchdown pass, and a rushing touchdown on 22-of-33 passing. The Lions’ defense recorded 7 sacks, sealing the victory.
Their next game is against the Packers tonight.
10. Cleveland Browns
I really like the 2023 Browns! A fun team to watch. In the NFL power rankings, here’s the scoop: Garrett got 3.5 sacks, leading a strong defense that allowed only 94 yards, securing a 27-3 win for the Browns against the Titans. They shut down Henry to just 20 yards on 11 carries. Meanwhile, Watson threw 27 of 33 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns, one of them a 43-yarder to Cooper.
Next up for the Browns: They’ll host Baltimore next Sunday.
