Let’s take a look at Ray Monohan’s 2024 Week 15 NFL Power Rankings for the 2024 season.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (12-1)
Their record in one-score games remains an odds-breaker, but they keep finding ways to do it. We may just not be giving them enough credit as a team that closes games better than any other team. There’s definitely been some luck involved, but they’ll take all the luck they can get in their quest for a third consecutive Super Bowl.
2. Detroit Lions (12-1)
The Lions have now won 11 straight since their revenge-fueled loss to the Buccaneers, and they’re doing it in impressive fashion, and bucking trends with a 6-1 record at home and a 6-0 record on road. Their smash-mouth style translates well to outdoor conditions which would help in the postseason if they weren’t already likely to clinch homefield throughout the NFC playoffs.
3. Philadelphia Eagles (11-2)
The Eagles continue to be guilty of playing down to lesser competition, and there were some reports of animosity in the locker room after a poor showing by their passing offense. This team came completely unraveled right around this time a year ago. If they can keep things together, they’re as good as any team in the league.

4. Minnesota Vikings (11-2)
The Vikings have put a midseason lull well in their rear-view mirror. A five-touchdown performance by Sam Darnold against the Falcons has settled any questions about whether they made the right decision to move on from Kirk Cousins, who looked the part of a player returning from an Achilles injury on the other side of the ball in another impressive win for Minnesota.
5. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3)
Mike Tomlin has to be the frontrunner for coach of the year for the job he’s done with this team, and his masterful flipping of the script to Russell Wilson after a hot start by Justin Fields. They get the Eagles this upcoming Sunday in a true litmus test for both teams.
6. Buffalo Bills (10-3)
Even in a loss Josh Allen continued to impress in an MVP-caliber year. But that loss really exposed the flaws in the Bills defense at the moment. Things won’t getting any easier for them this weekend at the Lions, but the final part of their schedule is softer, including two games against the Patriots.
7. Green Bay Packers (9-4)
The Packers held a lead over the Lions in the fourth quarter of that game, and were tied with them in the closing moments of the game. This is a really good team that’s well coached and finding its stride at the right time. They’ll be a nightmare opponent in the playoffs.
8. Baltimore Ravens (8-5)
The Ravens are certainly making things difficult on themselves this year, entering their bye with two losses in their final three games. They have a chance to get back on the right track with a game against the Giants on the other side of their bye. That could start them on a roll.
9. Los Angeles Chargers (8-5)
The Chargers have the leading scoring defense in the entire NFL. Their offense hasn’t quite kept up, even with Justin Herbert playing as well as we’ve seen from him. They need to get him more weapons on offense to be a more legit contender next season.
10. Seattle Seahawks (8-5)
Geno Smith continues to be a darling of the analytics nerds for his pinpoint accuracy. He deserves a better fate than playing in this offense with this group of pass-catchers. But the Seahawks’ arrow is pointed in the right direction with four consecutive wins since their bye week. They’re now in the drivers’ seat in the NFC West.
