The PGA Tour’s West Coast Swing continues this week with its third leg at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at the iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links in California. This is the second Signature Event of the season and will see some of the best players in the world take on some of the most challenging courses in the game today in both Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course.
This Week on the PGA Tour
The PGA Tour has been in full-swing for a month now, but this Signature Event brings the most star-studded field we’ve seen in 2025. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will make his season debut at Pebble Beach. Scheffler is returning after he cut himself with broken glass in a kitchen accident over the holidays.
The injury brought on surgery for Scheffler and led to him withdrawing from The Sentry and the American Express tournaments this month. Scheffler won nine times across all competitions in 2024 including the Masters. This year he’ll look to win PGA Tour Player of the Year for the fourth consecutive time.
Scheffler isn’t the only big name making his debut this week. Rory McIlroy is also making his first PGA Tour start of the year at Pebble Beach. The No. 3 player in the world is set to join the West Coast swing after playing DP World Tour events this winter. McIlroy won the DP World Tour Championship in November – his sixth Race to Dubai title. Last week he finished T4 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
Three-time major winner Jordan Spieth will make his return after undergoing wrist surgery in August that ended his 2024 season. Spieth had been playing through the injury since 2023. That led to a 2024 season that was the worst of his career, with only three top-20 finishes in 22 starts, landing him outside the FedExCup top 50, meaning he needs sponsor exemptions to play in early signature events, and AT&T gave him one for this week.
Xander Schauffele was forced to withdraw from a third consecutive event with his reported rib injury. However, last year’s winner Wyndham Clark is returning to defend his title after a course-record-setting victory.
2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Scottie Scheffler +400
This is an interesting line because it feels a lot like the way he would have been priced last year. We saw his odds much lower than this in shallower fields, but this is a very deep field with some of the top names in the game, and we don’t know how sharp Scheffler will be in his return. This could become a disastrous recommendation, but probably a good week to avoid the World No. 1 at the ticket window.

Cantlay hasn’t won in more than two years, but his game would indicate he’s due for a breakthrough. He has 13 top-10s and only three missed cuts over the last two years. And we know the native Californian can handle Pebble Beach, where he hasn’t fared worse than T11 across his last four starts dating back to 2020.

Day is a player I’m expecting to rejoin the elite tier of players on Tour this season, and this would be a great place to jump start that campaign. While he’s never won here, Day has had success at Pebble Beach in his career, with nine career finishes of seventh or better, including a T2 in 2018.

It was a disappointing finish to the 2024 season for Fitzpatrick, but this still feels like the oddsmakers aren’t giving him enough credit here. He tied for sixth at Pebble Beach in 2022, and was T12 when the US Open was played here in 2019. And he’s won against quality fields before, both at the 2022 US Open, and the 2023 RBC Heritage which was a signature event.
