Daniel Berger cashed in at 16:1 last week to give us winners in 2 of the last 3 PGA tournaments. While last week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am was considered one of the weakest fields in recent memory, that’s not the case here.
The 2021 Genesis Invitational features a star-studded field worthy of a major. World #1 Dustin Johnson is the 6:1 favorite but there’s value on nearly everybody from Rory McIlroy to Jon Rahm to Bryson DeChambeau and more.
2021 Genesis Invitational Free Golf Betting Odds: Justin Thomas +1400
Dustin Johnson is worth having a few bucks at 6:1 odds but with 12 of the top 15 golfers in the world playing this weekend there’s a lot more value out there. At the top of that list is Justin Thomas at 14:1.
Thomas had his worst finish of the year in his last tournament, but that was still just 13th at the WMPO two weeks ago. He has three top 5’s in five tourneys this season, so should be considered a threat every weekend.
Thomas has also hit 75% of his GIR over the last month which is tops in this field. He has also has a 64.3% driving accuracy, which is 3rd best and also has a top 5 and two top 10’s in 5 made cuts at the Riviera.
2021 Genesis Invitational Free Golf Betting Odds: Xander Schauffele +1400
There’s going to be heavy money on all the big favorites this week. Jon Rahm (+1200) has four top 10s this season, Bryson DeChambeau (+1600) has a top 5 at this course as does Rory McIlroy.
It seems to be only a matter of time before Xander Schauffele finds the podium however. The world #4 has been the runner up in the last two tourneys he’s played, and finished in the top 5 in three straight.
Schauffele was also 2nd here last year in greens in regulation (69.4) even though he finished 23rd thanks to a bad opening round. Schauffele ranks 2nd in this field over the last month in the top stat indicators for the Riviera.
2021 Genesis Invitational Championship Free Golf Betting Odds: Patrick Cantlay 18:1
On intangibles alone you like Patrick Cantlay this week, as he is from Long Beach which is less than an hour away from the Pacific Palisades. There’s also the matter that Cantlay is playing great golf right now.
Cantlay was in contention last week at Pebble Beach, but ended up finishing 3rd. It was his his third top 3 finish in the last 5 tourneys thanks to averaging 1.52 putts over the last month, 3rd best in this field.
2021 Genesis Invitational Free Golf Betting Odds: Viktor Hovland +3000 | Jordan Spieth +3300
People love Viktor Hovland this weekend, and he’s on a nice little run when he does play, finishing 2nd at the Farmer’s Insurance Open and winning the Mayakoba Golf Classic. He hasn’t played since the Farmer’s at the end of January though.
Hovland also didn’t play here last year, so a player with similar odds to pivot to could be Jordan Spieth, who has finished 4th and 3rd his last two tourneys. Spieth has confidence and ranks 11th in shots gained from tee to green the last three months.
2021 Genesis Invitational Free Golf Betting Odds: Bubba Watson +4500
There’s worse plays out there than Bubba Watson, who is a three time winner of the Genesis Invitational (2014, 2016, 2018).
Watson hasn’t played well lately, missing the cut at the Farmer’s Open and ending up 22nd at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. It’s hard to ignore that history here though.
2021 Genesis Invitational Free Golf Betting Odds: Kevin Streelman +12500
There’s a pretty nice ROI on Kevin Streelman, who has shot 69 or better in 7 of his last 8 rounds. Streelman could’ve been in contention last week at Pebble Beach if not for his 72 on Friday, but he came back to finish 13th.
