Well, as I sit down to write this I am still sulking over the loss I just suffered to the Flames, beating my Oilers who I also had to win moneyline. In a hard fought physical affair the Oilers just couldn’t solve Markstrom.
The Flames as much as I despise them are a really good team with a ton of depth, great goaltending and play a really hard nose blue collar type game. They are also really well coached and stick to their structure.
I know it’s been awhile guys but I am back and ready to hunt some winners. In this one, we’re going to see the Capitals visit the aforementioned Flames in cowtown.

Washington Capitals
The Caps are 5-5 in their last ten games and are still lacking some consistency in between the pipes. They are a pretty solid road team this season at 16-7-4.
This team is still lights out on offence. 6th in the league in goals, Ovechkin still breaking records seemingly every night and get scoring from up and down their lineup.
This is a historical night also as him and Nicklas Backstrom are playing in their 1000th game together.
Calgary Flames
The Flames as I said before are incredibly impressive. They’re path to the cup will be very difficult as they’ll likely have to meet the Avalanche at some point.
But I really do see this team as a bonafide contender in the Western Conference. They are 16-4-5 at home this year and as always are getting exceptional goaltending from both their starter whose a Vezina trophy and their back up Daniel Vladar whose expected to get the start in this one.

I am going to take the Capitals in on the moneyline in this one. I like the value they are getting on back to back nights for the Flames. And despite the fact that Vladar is a solid backup, I just like the Capitals as an underdog much more.
If the Caps can stay out of the box and perhaps draw a few calls also, I like their special teams units a lot more. As always it’s Ovechkin scoring record watch as well.
