A rematch from the first round of the NHL Playoffs from last year takes to shape as the St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks open their season on Wednesday.
The Blues bounced the Blackhawks from the playoffs in 7 games, as the two teams played to an extremely entertaining series.
St.Louis Blues
The Blues have some unfinished business to tend to as they open play on the road here in Chicago.
St. Louis was bounced from the Conference finals by the Sharks last season, once again falling short in the playoffs.
The Blues will enter play looking to build off being one of the best defensive teams in the league last season.

Behind goalie Jake Allen, the Blues allowed just 2.4 goals per game last season, which ranked 4th in the NHL. Allen finished 26-15 in 2015 with a save percentage of .920 and a 2.35 GAA.
Offensively, they’ll look for some more goal scoring chances here in 2016. The Blues scored 2.7 goals per game last year, led by Vladimir Tarasenko.
The F finished with 40 goals and 34 assists as he looks to continue what has been an impressive career.
Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks will be seeking some revenge here for the Blues ending their season in last seasons playoffs.
Chicago played a much different and faster pace than the Blues last season as they were an offensive minded team.
Sitting 6th in the league, the Blackhawks averaged 3 goals per game and had 30.5 shots per contest.
The key for them was peppering the net. It wasn’t the first or even second shot that found them success, it was the latter shots of the possession.
