Pittsburgh Penguins
The Penguins look the way they did when I bet my rent money on the Sharks to beat them in 2016. Poised, disciplined, skilled and tough to beat, impossible to beat.
Tristan Jarry is the best save % you can find and is playing like he’s really pissed about those Rangers getting them last season. Sidney Crosby said in the 32 thoughts podcast that after him, Letang and Malkin all resigning their goal was to win again and I for one am gonna take his word for it.
Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers have struggled to put pucks in the net and have actually gotten good goaltending which has lifted a load of stress off the backs of Oilers fans myself included. Campbell looked like dogshit early but he comes up with timely saves so often and was the reason we were still alive against the Blues.
But otherwise this Oilers squad seems to be lacking just what we all thought during the playoffs, some physicality, some mustard, some depth to their game.
McLeod has looked awesome thus far and could double his point production from last season but regardless, we need more from our young guys on this mismanaged roster (not to pile on Ken too early).
