In this one we see the Panthers head west to visit the Sharks. The Panthers have been so good from the start and barring any thing crazy I expect them to keep up their pace.
Most analysts think they will potentially look to add a defenceman at the deadline. They were linked to Klingberg from Dallas but it appears he won’t be going anywhere as they are probably going to make the playoffs.
The Sharks are on a very different path and are in a bit of dire straits in my opinion. The Kings and Ducks are stocked up on prospects and the Sharks could be lagging behind.
So let’s dig in a little further and see which side we like in this one.
Florida Panthers
The Panthers still have the best goals per game average in the league at 4.12 and if I am remembering correctly they have held that spot all season and have not given it up.
This team just simply scores goals and wins games. Despite getting shaky and inconsistent goaltending at times.
Anthony Duclair has been an absolutely dynamite pickup for the Panthers. He was actually really solid back in Ottawa as well, I have been a fan of his for awhile.
But he has slid into this roster very nicely and has also been a staple on their powerplay unit.
San Jose Sharks
The Sharks have some question marks heading into the deadline. To extend, or not too extend Tomas Hertl?
Hertl is an amazing power forward and still young-ish, I imagine they are very torn on this decision. This ageing core has got to be blown up soon as they are eating a ton of bad contracts that is holding them back and they do not have a Stanley Cup to show for it.

This to me is just two teams who are polar opposites and a nightmare match up for San Jose who are below 500 at home. Beyond that, they are starting a goalies who’s name I have never heard of.
