Big 10 play continues with the 16th ranked Purdue Boilermakers heading to Bloomington, Indiana to take on the Hoosiers in famous Assembly Hall.
Purdue Boilermakers
Purdue continues to play solid basketball this season and has won five of the last six games. The team is coming off a tough contest against Maryland, one that saw the Boilermakers squeak out a one-point win.
In what is always a good in-state rivalry, the Boliermakers will look to take down the Hoosiers, who are having some struggles since the loss of OG Anunoby.

The Boilermakers are having a great year on offense. Purdue ranks 22st in points per game, averaging about 82.2 per night.
Caleb Swanigan has been a force all season and has emerged as the leader of this team. Swanigan’s averaging a double-double with 19.1 points and 12.8 rebounds per contest. He has been fantastic all year. He’s also shooting 54.7% from the field.
The defense continues to work well, also. The team has worked well together, stifling opposing offenses and limiting teams to under 67 points per game. The Boilermakers rank 57th in the nation in opponent’s points per game.
Indiana Hoosiers
After the season got off to a promising start for Indiana, things haven’t gone so well since conference play started. The Hoosiers were shaping up to be a force to be reckoned with, winning nine of its first 10 games and playing some great basketball.
Since Big 10 play started, however, Indiana has faltered, and is a disappointing 5-6 in the conference. The Hoosiers have lost three of the last four games, including a 5-point loss to Wisconsin in their last game.
Part of the problem for the Hoosiers has been that the team is missing a major presence in the paint. Forward O.G. Anunoby is out for the season with a knee injury, and Indiana hasn’t been able to fill his extremely large shoes.

What has worked for Indiana has been the guard play. Junior James Blackmon is having a stellar year, averaging 17.6 points per game and fellow guard Robert Johnson is averaging 14.3 points per game on 48.7% from the field.
To beat Purdue, the Hoosiers will have to get great performances from their guards, while also finding some way to contain Caleb Swanigan.
CBB Betting Trends:
- Purdue is 3-1-1 ATS in its last five games
- The OVER is 3-2 in Indiana’s last five games
