Well, the Auburn Tigers aren’t even favored at this point and that tells a little bit of the story. The Tigers have not clinched anything yet so it’s not like they can afford to sit back and not concern themselves with the results of their final 2 games of the regular season. Kentucky will gladly steal that #1 seed from the Tigers should Aubrun fall apart before the SEC Tournament.
Auburn may be seen as the cream of the SEC crop this season but I so question all and any of that discussion. I expect Auburn to not even make it to the conference tourney title game and I also expect a quick bow out from the NCAA Tournament afterward.
Why am I so down on the Tigers? First of all, there are so many shit programs around this conference, and if you want to argue with me about that you can leave a message below. Anyone out there that thinks even Kentucky can win it all this season is not paying attention to anything going around them. WAKE UP!
Now, the Vols? Well, they are favored by a little less than 2 buckets hoping to improve on the 14- 2 home record here at Thompson-Boling Arena. Tennessee has won 6 of their last 7 games with a loss to Arkansas accounting for the setback in this run of recent results.
Auburn Tigers
You see it one way and I see it another. I am sorry, but I just do not see a team that puts fear in any of their opponents, and like I said the SEC is just full of shit basketball programs. Once you get past the top-4 teams in the standings the talent level drops dramatically. Auburn has taken advantage of that and sure, the 3 losses look fantastic on paper.
The loss to Florida recently threw us all for a loop as that was simply not the team that should be beating this Auburn program if they are supposedly so good. The Gators are 7 – 8 in SEC play this season and that loss to Arkansas on the road showed concerns just after a 2-point win over Georgia. A 2 FUCKING POINT WIN OVER GEORGIA, HE SAID!
Auburn’s schedule this season is something I would love to discuss with someone who thinks this Auburn team is so solid. First of all, that loss to UConn, and hey, UConn is pretty damn good and I know this because it’s my alma mater, but 115 points? I personally think the Murray State program might be the toughest program this team has faced out of conference and getting past Kentucky in their only meeting was semi-impressive too.
Jabari Smith can certainly ball as he throws down over 16 PPG but if you can slow him down you have a great chance to take out Auburn. not many teams have figured out how to deal with the freshman sensation who has come into his own so quickly. Smith has been a double-digit scorer in 22 of his last 25 games so he is going to get his points.
Walker Kessler is averaging 12 & 8 this season and you will see Smith and Kessler all around the glass throughout the game.
Tennessee Volunteers
The Vols are favored in this spot and I damn well know that a bunch of people out there will be thinking dog and fading that line. At -3.5, it is likely going to be a close game this afternoon because both teams want to take any momentum they can find into the SEC Tournament.
Why is Tennessee favored today? Home court is an obvious answer to any question of that type and Auburn has suffered 2 of their losses on the road against sub-par SEC programs. The Vols are a sound defensive squad and to be honest, I expect this to be a game that no one hits 70 points. Tennessee only allowed 62.5 PPG this year and that puts them at 31st in the nation in scoring.
Kennedy Chandler and Santiago Vescovi are both averaging 13.6 PPG and they are the only two players in orange and white who put up double-digits per game. Jordan James, Zakai Ziegler, and Olivier Nkamhoua are all putting up about 8 PPG each but as we know Nkamhoua will just be a bystander for this one. This is why you don’t wear #13!! Nah, I am kidding but his ankle surgery went well and we hope he makes it back in time for next season.
I will just give you the score now so you can go about your business… 65 – 61 which means the 139.5 has NO CHANCE IMO

Free Auburn Tigers vs. Tennessee Volunteers NCAAB Betting Prediction:
If I am being honest, I don’t know who will win this game. Even though I think Auburn has A LOT to prove to me, they are confident and they too are probably seeing the +3.5 thinking they should be favorites in this spot. That is certainly motivation but I don’t care who wins this game as long as the defenses show up and the bricks keep coming.
