Auburn Tigers
Auburn isn’t going to the NCAA Tournament this season to the public’s knowledge (but anything can happen because the NCAA has yet to enforce the ban) due to a self-imposed postseason ban. Maybe that was the best path considering the fact that the Tigers are off to their worst start since the 2016-17 season.
Bad news for CBS’s Jon Rothstein this morning as he reported that the Tigers will still be without Justin Powell, their third-leading scorer with 11.1 points per game. But it should be okay as Bruce Pearl pulled off a miracle and somehow got his highest-rated recruit in Aubrun history cleared to play. Sharife Cooper was the 19th rated high school prospect coming into this season and he showed out in his first game with the Tigers putting up 26 points in 32 mins. He shot 8 of 19 from the field, but only 1-7 from beyond the arc. If he can get his shooting numbers up a little he is going to be a real threat.
Part of that is pace as the Tigers rank 106th in adjusted tempo according to KenPom. They average 75.7 points per game on 44.6% shooting from the floor and 34% from behind the three-point line.
The defense has been an issue for the Tigers, who are allowing 73.7 points per game on 43.4% shooting and 30.1% from behind the arc. They have played some pretty tough SEC competition to start to be fair.
Georgia Bulldogs
Talking about defense, Georgia is not showing any in the SEC. They had started out winning their first seven games before hitting actuality in the conference play. They had played their first eight games at home due to the COVID-19, so they have a bigger home-court advantage than people think.
Georgia has lost all three SEC games and has allowed an average of 92 points per game in that span. In their last game, the Bulldogs crumbled at Arkansas 99-69 after only trailing by six at halftime. They shot 43% from the field and were outscored 56-32 in the second half.
The Bulldogs average 80.2 points per game on 46.5% shooting and 30.5% from the three-point line. They allow 72.9 points per game on 42.4% shooting and 32.7% from the three. They also outrebound teams by 8.3 per game though that has a lot to do with the weak opponents they faced in their schedule.
Toumani Camara leads the team with 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.

Free Auburn Tigers vs. Georgia Bulldogs NCAAB Prediction:
I LOVE Auburn in this spot. They are currently riding a 0-4-2 ATS the spread run over their last six games and this is the perfect bounce-back spot for the Tigers. They came up just short against a very good Alabama team who is on top of the conference right now at 5-0 in SEC play. The addition of Sharife Cooper to the Tigers roster has totally shifted this team’s momentum. Auburn couldn’t buy a basket to begin SEC play and with a true point guard running the show Bruce Pearl’s team should be back to top form. Cooper put 26 points in 32 minutes of playing time and I’m sure we will see more of what he can do here against a very weak team defensively. Give me the Tigers to grab their first win in SEC play over the Bulldogs.
