2026 NBA Handicapping – Orlando Magic vs. Golden State Warriors
Here’s why I’m backing Golden State ATS in my Magic Warriors free pick & gambling prediction for this matchup.
Magic vs. Warriors Gameday
Orlando travels to Golden State on November 7th for an NBA matchup at Chase Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 ET, with both teams surprising to start the season.
Per ESPN: No home-court identity. The two road wins against New York and Toronto proved that Orlando can compete with the top teams in the East. Playing at home is a different story. The Magic capped the second week of the regular season with home losses to Boston and Washington.
They are now 0-4 and one of five teams without a home win. They trail only Milwaukee, Charlotte and Brooklyn with the worst point differential in home games. — Marks
No one expected the Warriors to be 6-2 due to all the injuries and aging of their core. Conversely, most pundits expected the Magic to be better.
Sure, Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs are out, but there is enough talent (Franz Wagner) still on the roster that they shouldn’t be losing like they are.

Orlando ranked 18th (114.2) on offense and tied for 13th on defense (113.6). Additionally, the Magic were 17th in net rating (+0.6) and possessed the 14th-quickest pace (100.56).

Per John Schuhmann: The Magic are getting killed in the possession game. They’ve had at least four fewer shot opportunities than their opponent in all six of their games, now tied with Washington (who they’ll face on Monday) for the worst average discrepancy (9.1 fewer per game) in the league. They ranked eighth in the possession game last season (plus-1.7 opportunities per game), but they’ve gone from fifth to 27th in defensive rebounding percentage, also seeing a huge drop in turnover differential.
Orlando’s team leaders* were Paolo Banchero for scoring (22.2 points) and rebounds (8.4), Jalen Suggs for assists (5.5) and steals (1.8), and Goga Bitadze for blocks (1.0).
While the Magic only shot 34.3% from the perimeter as a team, they had four players who shot above the league average from deep.

Magic vs. Warriors Key Matchup
With Banchero out, all the emphasis shifts to Franz Wagner, who is handling the ball a lot more. Through eight games, he’s averaging 19.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 8.5 assists.
Anthony Black is an X-factor as he plays for a contract – he’s averaging 15.2 points and 5.0 assists while shooting 45.5% from deep.

Steph Curry remains the showtime sniper and leads the Dubs with 29.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists while shooting 44.0% from 3-point range.
Yaxel Lendeborg continues to impress as the Warriors are running much of the offense through the wing. He’s averaging 21 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists while shooting 39.6% from deep. Heck of a rookie who is in the conversation for RoY!
Orlando Magic vs. Golden State Warriors bottom line: Orlando appears lost on both ends of the court, but particularly on defense, where they rank 25th. Golden State is the opposite, ranking fifth-best on offense and will give the Magic fits trying to chase Steph and deal with Lendeborg.

Magic Warriors Free Pick: Warriors -6.5
Here is my Magic Warriors free pick: I’m playing Golden State ATS and to win. Steph Curry is a handful for any team but Orlando allows opponents to shoot 36.7% from deep which ranks 25th in the Association.
Add in Yaxel and a fired up Warriors squad who are playing well together versus a Magic team that looks uninspired and lost on both sides of the court and it equates to a Warriors victory.
Per ESPN: Yaxel Lendeborg has arrived. The No. 11 pick in June’s draft has already scored 26, 26, 31 and 37 points in his first two weeks in the NBA. His latest outburst, which included six 3s, came in a win over the LA Clippers in which Stephen Curry and Draymond Green rested. This Warriors team just followed an 0-3 start with a sudden five-game surge, and Curry, after the fifth straight win, was asked what changed.
“Yax,” Curry said. The Warriors didn’t win five straight all of last season. The Warriors drafted a 24-year-old, 6-foot-10 power wing who has immediately looked like a top-30ish player in the NBA.
Therefore, take the Warriors to cover the 6.5 spread and win the game outright.
