Denver Nuggets
Denver snapped a mini two-game slide with a blowout win in Cleveland.
Jamal Murray dropped 50 on insane 21-of-25 from the field, including 8-of-10 from three. He did not even so much as attempt a free throw. That’s 50 points on 25 field goal attempts with one turnover.
Nikola Jokic, as a result, had a light day. He only attempted eight shots and instead just enjoyed passing. He finished with a triple-double: 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 dimes. Throw in four steals, too.
Paul Millsap remained out and Gary Harris missed the game after making his return from injury in the one prior. He should be good to go for this one as he eases his way back.
Murray should have his way with the Hawks’ guards in this one. Trae Young isn’t a good enough defender to play him and the rest of Atlanta’s perimeter players are a little too large and slow of foot.
Atlanta Hawks
Atlanta did not shoot the ball well early in a 121–109 loss in Boston on Friday. The win earned the Celtics a split in two on their home court.
Trae Young was about the only Hawk who did shoot the ball well, finishing 10-of-16 for 31 points but he turned it over six times.
Danilo Gallinari played a lot and shot a lot when he was in there. He was atrocious, finishing 2-of-14 from the field.
The game was a total blowout until the second unit, plus Clint Capela, charged back in the fourth quarter before Boston closed.
Cam Reddish shot 3-of-13 but it didn’t even seem like he took that many shots. He does not have a defined role in the offense. For as much penetration as Young gets, Reddish does not seem to yet be able to get into his view for kick-out passes. Most of those go to Kevin Huerter.
The defense is not as bad as the run n’ gun label this team has suggests. Atlanta is second in the league at three-point efficiency defense. Opponents are making just 34 percent of their three-balls.

Free Denver Nuggets vs. Atlanta Hawks NBA Prediction: over.
Not only does this one have potential to get into the 240s, I actually expect it to.
I just don’t see the Hawks having much of an answer for the Nuggets. Meanwhile, the Hawks could run Denver a little bit. They would be wise to make it a running game with Jokic.
The only way this one does stay down, actually, is if the Nuggets make a concerted effort to slow things down. That’s possible but they will have to play a disciplined offense game to do so.
