The Washington Nationals are the best team in baseball and look to continue that dominance against an up-and-down Minnesota Twins club. While the Twins possess one of the worst road records in baseball, the Nationals are one of the best at home.
The Minnesota Twins have had a rather odd start to the season.
After starting the year 0-9, the Twins went on to win their next four games. Just when you thought they’d found their groove, the pitching staff forgot how to find the strike zone, and now the Twins find themselves in another struggle.
Minnesota has played much better offense as the season has progressed, but the team is still run-of-the-mill offensively and the pitching isn’t much better. Ol’ reliable Joe Mauer leads the team in batting average, hits and OBP, but the rest of the team isn’t doing much.
Trevor Plouffe and Eduardo Nunez have improved their offense since the first week of the season, but will it be enough against Stephen Strabsurg?
Ervin Santana is scheduled to get the start in this one.
He struggled a bit during his last start when the Twins played the Milwaukee Brewers, but his numbers aren’t terrible this season. He has a 3.15 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP in 20 innings pitched.
The Nationals have played great baseball this year and it all begins with Bryce Harper.
The young phenom is batting .298 with eight homers and 22 RBI and is tearing the cover off the ball. Harper isn’t alone though.
Daniel Murphy, last year’s postseason hero for the New York Mets, leads the National League with a .414 batting average and a team-leading .484 OBP to go along with 23 hits.
And who could forget Strasburg? The former No. 1 overall pick is currently 3-0 with a 1.25 ERA and an astonishing .92 WHIP in 21.2 innings pitched. Strasburg has pitched at least six innings in his first three starts and has 17 strikeouts over his last two.
When Strasburg toes the rubber, the Nationals automatically find themselves in great position to win.

Free Minnesota Twins vs. Washington Nationals MLB Prediction:
The Twins are playing better baseball, but they’re still awful on the road.
Ervin Santana should keep them in the game for a few innings, but the key for the Twins is getting the best of Stephen Strasburg. No team has been able to do that so far, and I can’t see the Twins figuring him out now. Washington has been untouchable at home, and I see that trend continuing on Sunday.
