Here is my Rays Guardians free pick: I’m betting Under 6.5 (-107). This number leaves little room for mistakes, but the price is reasonable for two clubs struggling to string together quality at-bats. I’m looking for disciplined pitching, not another round of missed opportunities disguised as offensive pressure.
The postponed game gives Cleveland’s high-leverage relievers another day of recovery. That matters because Vogt can make aggressive changes when the middle of Tampa Bay’s order comes around instead of saving an arm for later.
My concern is Cleveland handing out free baserunners during those pitching changes.
I’m betting the extra bullpen rest produces better execution, not another excuse to leave a struggling arm on the mound.
Cash has a different decision to make if Tampa Bay gets an early lead. He can protect that advantage with his strongest available relievers rather than stretching a pitcher through trouble. That gives this Under another route without requiring both starters to dominate.
Seven runs beat us, and one bad inning can account for most of them. I’m not pretending this is a comfortable total. Wind will be blowing in though, that should help.
