The Milwaukee Brewers host the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 2 of the 2026 World Series on Saturday, October 24, at American Family Field. First pitch is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX. Milwaukee leads the best-of-seven series 1-0.
Pat Murphy’s Brewers finished 103-59, including 55-26 at home. Their October run has put them one victory away from taking a commanding lead before the series shifts to Florida.
Of course, winning the opener doesn’t award anybody a championship.
Milwaukee owns the early advantage, but Tampa Bay has its ace ready to challenge that lead.
Kevin Cash’s Rays finished 98-64, going 43-38 on the road. They’ve already eliminated the Yankees and Guardians, proving they can handle postseason pressure. Their immediate concern is avoiding a two-game deficit.
Neither franchise has won a World Series title. Milwaukee last reached the Fall Classic in 1982, while Tampa Bay appeared in 2008 and 2020.
Somebody’s long wait finally ends this October.

Contreras has also been excellent this October, leading the club with a 1.184 postseason OPS entering Saturday. His production gives the Brewers a dangerous bat in the middle of the order.

Junior Caminero supplied 42 home runs, while Yandy Díaz hit .293 with 22 homers. Jonathan Aranda added another 22 home runs, giving Cash several legitimate threats.

Tampa Bay has dangerous hitters throughout the order, but October rewards clubs that finish their scoring chances.

Rasmussen can dominate six or seven innings and still leave Tampa Bay needing relief outs against a lineup that doesn’t give many away. Milwaukee has the contact hitters and late-game depth to make those final innings expensive.
That’s where I’m putting my money.
I’m betting Milwaukee’s ability to manufacture the deciding run, not a Henderson shutout.
At -123, I don’t need a blowout or another five-game winning streak to impress me. I need one more run than Tampa Bay, and Milwaukee has the lineup to grind that out.
Rasmussen deserves respect, but he doesn’t get nine innings of protection from me. I’ll pay the modest price and back Brewers ML -123.
