Week 10 college football sees the Roadrunners and Blazers meeting at Protective Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 ET.
The Blazers are favored by a half-point in this Conference USA matchup, but I see a Pick ’em out there and a fluctuating line. It will all depend on your book and your timing regarding the line you get your action on.
UTSA Roadrunners
Well, bowl eligible is a thing, although we can get on the Roadrunners for that Texas Southern win against an FCS program, if we must. The bowl committee will be the final judge if UTSA does get stuck on 6 wins, but I do not believe that will be the case.
I personally am having issue here with UAB being expected to win this game by some bookmakers and pundits alike. What the hell are you looking at with the Blazers that gives you more confidence than fancying a wager with the Roadrunners in this spot?
Letdown? What? Shut up, dude, don’t give me the letdown speech crap, because this is a team that was 12 – 2 last year with aspirations to not just be a bowl team in 2022.. I can point you to a lot of places that had this game pegged as the one that would decide which team takes top-spot in Conference USA.
UAB is going in one direction and the Roadrunners are going in another, so we can expect a mild upset to transpire here. I am going to call it a mild upset because of the line we have to play with, but I am also going to call it a big win for UTSA on the road.
Frank Harris has accounted for 22 touchdowns this year, 17 with his arm and 5 more with his legs as part of the ground game. His dual-threat ability makes him as dangerous as any other QB you’ll find in FBS, and that 2nd-Team All-Conference USA honor last year will likely be upgraded to 1st Team this season. A win here and a dynamic effort from Harris on the road? Put in writing that he’ll take the award home!
UAB Blazers
Dylan Hopkins would love to be 100% for this game, and to be honest I wish he was too. Imagine a healthy Hopkins and healthy Harris going at it on an early November afternoon? Oh baby, that would be great, and Hopkins is still questionable to go with the concussion issues that had him sit out of last weekend’s game.
Let’s be honest and just say that Hopkins in this lineup makes UAB go, and if he doesn’t go I don’t think they will go anywhere but toward another L. UAB has lost two straight outings and they lost to Rice to begin October, so this is just not going smoothly for Bill Clark in 2022.
Clark has had UAB showing a winning record since he got here, and 4 – 4 is a precarious position with a trip to LSU still to come on top of LA Tech and North Texas waiting for them to come play football after this affair. Nothing is going to come easy for this program, and that’s what happens when you are good for so many years.
Teams tend to want to kick you in the mouth when you are not at your best just to remind you that they remember how you did them dirty when you were rolling. UAB played in 3 straight Conference USA title games before they missed out last season, and Jacob Zeno seems to be the guy who will be asked to move the offense.
Zeno was 18 for 32 in the loss to FAU last weekend, but the second half was simply hard to watch. UAB got down 10 – 0 early against the Owls but fought back to be up 14 – 10 going to the half. To come out and only kick a field goal in the entire second stanza? Yeah, no bueno!

4* Free UTSA Roadrunners vs. UAB Blazers NCAA Betting Final Analysis:
If Hopkins gets cleared? Well, this game might be one of the more funner games of the weekend… LOL, Yes, more funner, baby, that is so not correct grammar, and you’re welcome for that! My grammarly app is flipping out right now and I will stay defiant!! Seriously, if Hopkins goes, this total will fly in and I would expect a shootout, but it Zeno goes? Yeah, not so much of that happening, but either way I have Frank Harris and UTSA to find the W!
