2026 NCAAF Handicapping – Texas Longhorns vs Missouri Tigers
Here’s why I’m backing an OVER bet below in my Longhorns Tigers free pick & gambling prediction for this matchup.
Longhorns vs. Tigers Gameday
The No. 10 Texas Longhorns head to Faurot Field in Columbia to face the No. 19 Missouri Tigers on Saturday, November 7. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET on ESPN in a ranked SEC showdown.
Texas enters at 6-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play under Steve Sarkisian. The Longhorns have won two straight, although their 1-1 record in true road games leaves something to prove away from Austin.
Texas has the higher ranking, but Missouri hasn’t been handing out free victories in Columbia.
The Longhorns are coming off a convincing victory over Mississippi State.
Missouri also stands at 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the SEC. Eli Drinkwitz has the Tigers playing well at home, where they’re unbeaten through four games.
Both teams remain in the conference race, although neither has much room for another loss. November football has a way of making every mistake more expensive.
Texas leads the all-time series 7-1. The Longhorns won the last meeting 33-16 in the 2017 Texas Bowl.
Missouri has an opportunity to improve its postseason position against another ranked opponent. Texas needs to prove it can deliver the same physical performance on the road that it has produced in Austin.
It’s Week 10, Texas Longhorns vs. Missouri Tigers, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Texas Longhorns vs. Missouri Tigers Odds & Previous Games
Texas is the -143 moneyline favorite, with the Longhorns laying 3 points. Missouri gets +3, and the total is 43.5.
Texas defeated Mississippi State 31-3 and Ole Miss 34-27 in its last two games. The Longhorns previously lost 27-24 to Florida and Oklahoma after beating Tennessee 20-17.
Missouri beat Arkansas 34-10 after losing 31-3 to Ole Miss. The Tigers also defeated Texas A&M 27-6 and Florida 45-17, following a 31-24 setback against Mississippi State.
Both teams have gone 3-2 over their last five games. Texas has been more reliable defensively, while Missouri has generally produced more total offense.
The Longhorns are 3-5 against the spread this season. Missouri is 4-4, so neither side has exactly been a gift to bettors.
Texas opened as a larger favorite before the spread moved closer to a field goal. With both teams carrying identical conference records, this shapes up as one of the more competitive SEC matchups on Saturday.

Tigers Stats
Missouri has scored 252 points through eight games, averaging 31.5 per contest. The Tigers have produced 2,057 passing yards and 1,353 rushing yards, giving them a balanced offensive attack. Jamal Roberts leads the ground game with 1,005 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. His production has allowed Missouri to stay ahead of the chains and keep defenses from concentrating exclusively on the passing game.
Cayden Lee has been another important offensive weapon, catching 52 passes for 747 yards and five touchdowns.
Roberts gives Missouri a dependable ground attack, and Lee can punish defenses that crowd the line.
The Tigers have allowed 147 points, averaging 18.4 per game. Their defense has also recorded 19 sacks, seven interceptions and six fumble recoveries.
Missouri has been particularly effective against the run, surrendering approximately 98 yards per game. That should make Texas work for every manageable third down.
Josh Atkins, Gavin Hoffman and Malae Fonoti have appeared on injury reports.
Their availability for Saturday remains subject to the latest team updates.
Longhorns Stats
Texas has scored 246 points, averaging 30.8 per contest.
The Longhorns have accumulated 1,793 passing yards and 1,089 rushing yards, although their offensive production hasn’t always been consistent.
Raleek Brown leads the backfield with 452 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He gives Texas a dependable option when the Longhorns need to establish the ground game.
Ryan Wingo has 36 catches for 470 yards and four touchdowns. Cam Coleman has added 23 receptions for 409 yards and seven scores, giving Texas another dangerous receiving threat.
Wingo and Coleman have both appeared on recent availability reports. Their final status will determine how much receiving depth Sarkisian has available against Missouri.
Texas has allowed 137 points through eight games, an average of 17.1 per contest. The Longhorns have also surrendered approximately 273 total yards per game, ranking among the nation’s stronger defensive units. The defense has recorded 26 sacks. Texas can generate pressure without depending entirely on blitzes, which gives its secondary additional help against dangerous passing attacks.
Longhorns vs. Tigers QB Matchup
Austin Simmons leads Missouri with 1,952 passing yards through eight games. He’s thrown 16 touchdowns against only two interceptions while completing 63% of his passes. Simmons has protected the football well, allowing the Tigers to sustain drives without unnecessary risks. His efficiency has been an important part of Missouri’s offensive consistency.
Against Arkansas, Simmons completed 20 of 31 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns. He didn’t throw an interception.
Arch Manning leads Texas with 1,730 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He’s completed 65% of his attempts while averaging slightly more than 216 passing yards per game.
Manning was sharp against Mississippi State, completing 16 of 20 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns. That was the kind of clean performance Texas needs from its quarterback.
The challenge Saturday is maintaining that efficiency against Missouri’s pressure. Manning has the arm talent to make difficult throws, but forcing passes into coverage has occasionally hurt the Longhorns.
CP Is More Than Just Sports Picks!
Anybody can post a prediction. CappersPicks backs up its sports picks with opinionated matchup analysis, experienced handicappers & documented betting performance. Pad that bankroll one day at a time!
Simmons has the better touchdown-to-interception ratio, while Manning has demonstrated the ability to create explosive plays. Neither quarterback needs to carry the entire offense, but both must recognize when to take their chances. Missouri will look to establish favorable passing situations through its rushing attack. Texas needs Manning to make quick decisions and avoid giving the Tigers extra possessions.
Texas Longhorns vs. Missouri Tigers bottom line: Texas brings the stronger overall defense into Columbia, but Missouri has enough offensive balance and home-field advantage to make this a difficult SEC road assignment.
Texas Longhorns vs. Missouri Tigers Football Betting Trends
- The Longhorns have a 25-5 record straight up as favorites in their last 30 games.
- Texas is 25-5 straight up after a win in their last 30 games.
- Also, the Longhorns have a 15-5 record straight up in away games over their last 20 games.
- The Tigers have a 25-3 record straight up at home in their last 28 games.
- Additionally, Missouri is 20-10 straight up after a win in their last 30 games.
- The Tigers are 14-8 against the spread in home games over their last 22 games.
Longhorns Tigers Free Pick: Over 43.5
Here is my Longhorns Tigers free pick: I’m on Over 43.5. The number has come down from its opening range, and I like getting a lower scoring target in a matchup where both teams have enough talent to capitalize on mistakes.
Missouri has won 25 of its last 28 home games, while Texas has won 25 of its last 30 as a favorite. Those records don’t guarantee points, but neither team should be content to sit on a narrow lead and spend the afternoon punting.
I’m buying the scoring opportunities at 43.5, not paying for a 60-point shootout.
Texas has been vulnerable to giveaways, and Missouri’s ability to turn mistakes into field position matters here. One short-field touchdown changes the entire complexion of a total this low.
The concern is obvious: both defenses can get after the quarterback, and neither offense has been flawless. That’s why finishing drives matters more than piling up yards between the 20s.
I’m looking for a competitive fourth quarter where neither coach can afford to shut things down. A late touchdown or two could be the difference, and this number leaves enough room to get there without demanding offensive perfection.
I’ll take my chances with both teams contributing and the scoreboard reaching the mid-40s. My college football betting system play is Over 43.5.
