Week 13 college football sees the Aggies and Tigers meet at Tiger Stadium.
The Aggies are favored by 6.5 points in this SEC matchup despite the fact that LSU is far removed from the 2019 team that ran the table. This could ultimately be Eddie Orgeron’s last hurrah for the TIgers now that we know he is stepping down after this season in Baton Rouge.
The Aggies are the only team that has managed to take down Alabama in 2021, but amazingly this is nowhere near the best program in the SEC. Keep in mind, this team was already 0 – 2 in SEC play before the upset win over the Tide so there was still plenty of concern to be had at College Station.
The loss to Ole Miss left this team at 4 – 3 in conference action and we don’t even need to talk about the game last weekend against Prairie View.
The Aggies have the favoritism of the oddsmakers by about a TD so will they keep the TIgers out of bowl season with a road win to ruin Senior Day in Baton Rouge?
Texas A&M Aggies
What a moment it was when the Aggies took out Alabama and we all were a bit shocked at the result. The season has been up and down
Zach Calzada has had his moments this year but he wasn’t asked to do much in last weekend’s thumping of Prairie View. Calzada only threw the ball 14 times completing 10 passes for 150 yards, but hey, he didn’t throw an INT. If you have been a betting man over his career you have done well betting on the ‘Will Calzada throw in interception’ prop bet.
Calzada even started the season on the wrong foot when he threw one total pass against Kent State on opening weekend. He threw that ball to the wrong team and that has something he has done in 8 of the 11 games played in 2021.
Isaiah Spiller only needs 16 rushing yards to topple the 1,000-yard mark and Devon Achane could also reach that number with a couple of nice games. Achane has accumulated 861 rushing yards from 118 carries and his 9 TD on the ground lead the squad.
The A&M defense has certainly been the strength of this team in 2021, and scoring against them has proven to be rather difficult. The Aggies rank 2nd in the entire country only allowing 14.9 PPG and the 182.4 passing yards allowed per game puts this team at 11th in the land.
LSU Tigers
Coach O will be emotional as usual when he says goodbye to his seniors on Saturday but he is also saying goodbye to the entire program right soon. Should the Aggies walk into Tiger Stadium and win, this will be the last day we get to hear Eddie O’s ‘Geaux Tigers’ growl at the end of his interviews.
Since you really cannot get much more premier than coaching an SEC program, we have no idea what the future is going to hold for Coach Orgeron after the season ends. I assume he didn’t want this story to be all about him but it’s been a long year that followed up the 5 – 5 record in 2020.
The Tigers are a perfect 4 – 0 at home against the Aggies but this season seems to be leaning towards an Aggie win. The line setters have suggested that the Tigers aren’t good enough to win this final home game for Coach O so that could be a sign that a loss is coming.
The Tigers had lost 5 of their last 6 games before picking up a win over Monroe last weekend, 27 – 14. We certainly can’t call that an emphatic victory against a struggling Sun Belt Conference team but it is a win. That big McNeese State win early this season too, baby, woooo… ugh.
To me, that is not even registering as a win so what has this LSU team really accomplished in 2021? The Florida and Mississippi State victories? All right, so there is your impressive Tigers’ season that we will all only remember for being the last game with Coach O on the sidelines.
The Tigers might be the only team in the entire division to not end the year with at least a .500 record.

4* Free Week 13 NCAA Betting Final Analysis:
This game should still be a tightly contested affair even if A&M has nothing to really lose and LSU has plenty to lose. Finishing a campaign under .500 is the worst thing that can happen for any program much less one that was just on top the world but only 2 seasons ago.
34 – 31 and a close game with the over clearly flying in.
