This game will feature two teams coming off of very different outcomes last week.
Pitt held off a rally by Penn State, while Oklahoma State lost to Central Michigan on one of the greatest Hail Mary’s in college football history.
QB Nathan Peterman just needs to manage the game, and he did so well last week, throwing 3 touchdowns but did not reach the 100 yard mark. He will need to make a few more plays to keep the Cowboys offense off the field.
This offense is led by James Conner. He isn’t just a feel good comeback story, he has regained his form that made him one of the best running backs in the ACC in 2014.
I expect him to get the ball atleast 25 times this week, and have another dominant game with a couple of scores.
The passing game must improve and its partly on the play of the quarterback but the receivers also have to do a better job getting open.
This week they face a Cowboys defense that somehow gave up one of the craziest hail mary touchdowns in college football history.
I expect Quadry Henderson to have a 75+ yard receiving game, and to grab a touchdown as well.
The defense gave up 39 points to a Penn St offense that wasn’t viewed as a juggernaut this season , but they face a much tougher playcaller in Mike Gundy.
I expect another 4 sack performance from the unit this week.
Oklahoma St. Cowboys
Did a bad call cost the Cowboys the game?
A lot of people will say yes, I’ll say no. It was a terrible call but you can’t put that as the only reason they lost the game to Central Michigan.
QB Mason Rudolph had a good game, throwing 2 touchdowns against the Chippewas D. He will have to make his chances count this week, as I expect Pitt to try and play ball control and keep him and the offense off the field.
Justice Hill and Chris Carson did nothing last week.
Will it be a repeat against the Panthers D? I don’t believe so as the panthers gave up 4 touchdowns on the ground. Look for both players to have a bounce back game and each find the endzone.
The defensive secondary got lit up by QB Cooper Rush (30-42 for 361 yds and 4 TDs including the hail mary). I don’t expect the same results against Peterman, but they will still give up a few big plays.

Free Week 3 NCAA Football Prediction
It’s surprising to say it but Pitt will be 3-0 after this game, and James Conner will lead the way. Take the Panthers and the Under.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Pitt ATS, take the under.
James Conner gets a couple of scores, and the defense will keep Mason Rudolph from making the big explosive plays we normally expect from him.
