Week 8 college football sees the Rebels and Tigers meeting at Tiger Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers are favored by -1.5 points in this SEC matchup, and we have a 66.5 showing on the total.
Ole Miss Rebels
Hi, we’re the 7th ranked team in the country and you call us Ole Miss but we’re not making hot cocoa today in Switzerland. Or are we? Should it be Swiss Miss or Ole Miss or Just Missed?
LSU is favored at home, so what good is being ranked 7th in the country if you’re not even favored over an unranked team? Someone knows something about why this line would be set showing Ole Miss as a dog so what is the reason for it?
I think we all see it as the schedule this program has played to reach their 7 – 0 record. There isn’t a lot of high-profile teams across the field so far and it’s why the Rebels have been favored by double-digits in nearly every game. Outside of the -6.5 vs. Kentucky, Ole Miss has been expected to beat up the rest of their opponents and they have for the most part but who cares?
None of those wins came in LSU and I think we are finally seeing what Brian Kelly brings to the table now that he is an SEC guy. I still to this day cannot believe he opted out of Notre Dame to take over at LSU, because he already had records set and he could have smashed the others he hadn’t reached yet. Notre Dame doesn’t exactly look like they’ve made out any better either, but that’s a different preview for a different day.
Anyway, Lane Kiffin is still here! Isn’t it amazing he’s lasted a 3rd year somewhere? I wonder where he is headed next, because he wears out his welcome within 3 years where ever he goes. He’s like the 3-year substitute who gets called the head of the class for a minute, but you can always expect him to jump ship and be replaced at any moment.
LSU Tigers
Brian Kelly has LSU favored over an undefeated SEC program, and year 1 in Baton Rouge he has built a renewed confidence in a program that needed a boost. The 6 – 7 campaign that ended with a bowl loss to Texas left a bad taste in the Bayou, and obviously after winning a title this team has big aspirations to not just be competitive but to get back to that level again.
This team was 6 – 6 and only returning a handful of starters from both sides of the ball, but then the transfer window opened. Nearly 20 dudes came into Baton Rouge from the portal and last weekend’s win over Florida boosted the confidence of this program even more.
LSU were underdogs going into the Swamp and victors leaving it last weekend, so that is surely another reason as to why the line setters are pointing to more success this weekend.
Arizona State could surely use Jayden Daniels back, but he is in Baton Rouge now having a fantastic campaign. Anyone who is leading their team in passing and rushing usually has the respect of everyone in the locker room.
Daniels has thrown 10 touchdown passes and has only tossed one ball to the wrong team this year and the 6 touchdowns with his legs sure don’t hurt matters. He was seen gathering the towels and giving out water at practice and he carries all of the cheerleaders’ books to class!
