Week 11 college football sees the Tar Heels and Demon Deacons meeting at Truist Stadium at 7:30 ET on ESPN2.
The Deacons are favored by -3.5 points in this ACC matchup, although both teams have already earned their bids to the bowl season. However, the Heels have essentially clinched their appearance in the ACC title game, so that might explain the line on the board.
North Carolina Tar Heels
It’s done, at least in my opinion the odds of the Heels giving up their lead and going 0 – 3 in the final 3 games is not going to happen! WRITE IT DOWN! The Heels will be representing the ACC Coastal Division in the ACC Championship game. That win over Duke was the one that really did it, because Wake and N.C State aren’t even in their division.
This may be seen as a conference game, but the only division game left for the 5 – 0 Heels is Georgia Tech, and if you think the Jackets have that other chance to upset North Carolina? Holy shit, dude, take up backgammon! Challenge your Aunt to a Best-of-3 backgammon battle and stop watching football, thanks!
So, all right, on the official of officialness, they are officially not the official team in, and of course, Wake has to be the team on the docket, right?
Oh, so you think UNC isn’t looking forward to this trip? Remember last year when UNC couldn’t win a road game if God had parted the sea and gave them the clear path to get there? All of that is so far in the rear-view mirror with a 5 – 0 road record in 2022. Perfection is fun, it’s one of my favorite words, in fact!
The line setters must not have seen the last two meetings, although they did remember the totals from the last two meetings between these two teams. Now throw in what Mr. 31 TD passes is doing at UNC with the Heels offense, and then they got told they were underdogs this weekend! With only 3 interceptions out of 312 tosses of the rock, the dude knows how to not force the issue but still isn’t afraid to make the big throw.
Hey, you can’t beat Wake, they are too good for you… to be continued
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
So, Wake knows that Drake Maye is leading the world in TD passes, and the UNC offense has the potential to light this defense up for another 58-59 points. They’ve only done that the last two times they’ve met, and Sam Hartman has got to be tired of it.
He has put his defense in a position to win the last two games with huge early leads in those two outings, and neither has turned into a win. Wake was up 18 and 21 points and they let both leads completely slip away, so now being favored is almost a kiss of death.
We all know the Heels are going on to play in the ACC title game, and Wake is not. Wake had that #10 ranking erased over the last weeks because of the last two losses to N.C State and Louisville.
Oh, don’t get me started about that Louisville game, because you know you cashed them last weekend against James Madison. That ticket was hysterically easy to cash, and that Louisville defense is on another planet.
Anyway, how does Wake approach a team they know they can’t stop? We are in the video room shitting ourselves knowing we can’t put 12 bodies on the field to defend this offense. Maye is going to throw for 6 TDs and this total at 76.5 is one hell of an eye-opener, isn’t it?
We need 80-something, or close to it?
Oh, stop it. Listen, when the score is 31 – 28 because Wake kicked a field goal to take that lead again to the locker room, the Heels are going to come out and put up another 42 points and this game is going to be bonkers!
BONKERS! See the SMU / Houston Game last weekend, THINK SOMETHING LIKE THAT!
