New Orleans Bowl college football sees the Ragin’ Cajuns and Thundering Herd meeting at Caesars Superdome on Saturday, December 18. The last of 6 games being played on this lovely day for college football fans will just be the beginning of Bowl Season… The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
The Ragin’ Cajuns are favored by 5 points Over Marshall in this New Orleans Bowl matchup at the Caesars Superdome.
The 23rd ranked Cajuns come into this game without their head coach as Billy Napier has left for greener pastures. You know the routine by now, right? Go 12 – 1 and win some hardware and then get out of dodge to cash a nice check. Napier is now an even richer man but his story is not the one to make here.
The Herd appears to be getting their QB back, as Grant Wells has announced he is fine and will be a participant in this New Orleans Bowl game. Well exited the biggest game of the season in the second half against Western Kentucky for the right to play in the Conference USA title game. The Hilltoppers went on to trounce the Herd and now this team has to pick up the pieces and play one more game before losing their seniors.
Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns
The Cajuns players are the ones who have gotten this team to 12 – 1 so it is just a matter of doing what they have done all year and taking it to the field one last time.
His name is Levi Lewis and if you haven’t been privy to Sun Belt Conference football this year you missed a talented dude doing some stuff! Should Lewis pull off a 350-yard passing day he will get himself to the 3,000-yard passing mark this season.
What Lewis isn’t doing with his arm he combines with a bunch of mean dudes in the backfield that like to tromp on your fucking face until you can’t breathe anymore! The Cajuns offense ranks 34th rushing the rock and they put up 192 YPG on the ground.
Chris Smith leads this team with 153 attempts and 855 yards and he has been seen in the end zone 8 times this year. Montrell Johnson has found his way to paydirt 11 times on the ground and he has 143 carries of his own that lead to 784 rushing yards.
Emani Bailey has added another 85 carries for 548 yards and Lewis accounts for another 88 rushes for 269 yards of rushing offense.
Oh, they like to run the ball in case ya hadn’t noticed.
Peter LeBlanc leads the entire team with only 37 receptions for 417 yards if that doesn’t help you understand what I mean. The Cajuns scored 31 of their 52 offensive TDs on the ground and we’re done here.
Marshall Thundering Herd
When Grant Wells came out of the Western Kentucky game on the final day of the regular season, the Herd looked like a completely different offense and the defense couldn’t handle the amount of time they were on the field.
Marshall had the Hilltoppers in check the entire first half and then the wheels fell off with Grant Wells strangely disappearing at halftime. So, after the 53- 21 destruction, this team has to wake up and travel to New Orleans and act like they put that behind them.
Replacing Doc Holliday was a tall shadow to follow but Charles Huff did get his program to play pretty well in his first assignment as the lead in the big show. Huff has the experience to fall back on but he still has a lot to prove. He inherited a nice bit of talent and Grant Wells is among them.
Wells has produced 3,433 passing yards this season and he is one of the dudes that Huff will have for another two seasons should he stay healthy and in college. The sophomore gun-slinger could have easily gotten his team to the Conference USA Championship game and he was on his way there before leaving the Hilltopper affair at the half.
145.6! How ya like them apples? Grant Wells has a QB rating of 145.6 in non-conference games and oops? Guess what? Yeah, you know that all of these bowl games are not conference games so here we go!
One thing he has to support the cause is a ground game because Rasheen Ali is a fucking stud! When you have amassed 1241 rushing yards on 230 carries you will have to excuse my language because that is fucking stout stuff!
Rankings? Oh, okay sure let’s go there.
Herd – #12th ranked passing offense
Herd – 10th ranked total yards offense that puts up 34 points a game!
Good luck!

4* Free New Orleans Bowl NCAA Betting Final Analysis:
Do you want to give me +5 with a healthy Grant Wells? Go for it! This game is going to be an epic thriller that Michael Jackson would have been dancing to.
I have Marshall hanging around long enough to cover and if they win outright well that’s all the better. Thinkdog, baby but you can really just throw me this total. If 55 points are all we need to cash a total ticket then I am sold on that. 42 – 38 and worth watching a New Orleans Bowl game to finish the day of festivities.
