Week 11 college football sees the Flames and Huskies meeting at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, CT just down the road from main campus in Storrs.
The Flames are favored by -14.5 points in this Independent matchup, and we have a 46 showing on the total.
Liberty Flames
So, were the Flames a better team with or without the QB that got picked up in last year’s NFL Draft, or the one under center now? I mean, let’s talk about how moving on from Malik Willis has seemingly been the easiest transition in the history of FBS. Okay, let’s not go that nuts, but no one thought that Jonathan Bennett would be the guy in November who has played in 8 games with all of the stats.
Charlie Brewer? Wait, who? Oh, wait, I remember him, does anyone else remember he is on this roster? Brewer is questionable this weekend, and we know that Kaidon Salter won’t be available with the bum ankle.
A quiet 8 – 1 out of the Independent gets you… um, a quiet 8 – 1 in the Independent apparently, so that’s about it, right? So, that quiet team just walked into Fayetteville last weekend and took out Arkansas, just an SEC team, no biggie, pfft!
Am I concerned? You bet I am!
The Liberty defense is the side of the ball that is under rated, even though you see them around 30th in every damn category worth mentioning. Is getting UConn and being favored by more than two TDs considered a trap now? Liberty has Virginia Tech on deck next weekend, and I don’t know much, but I know the Hokies are the game that these kids would look forward to way before a trip to Hartford Connecticut.
UConn Huskies
Yeah, I know, shut up Ej. Hey, hold on now, hold it right there! What was the score of the UConn game last weekend? WHAT WAS IT?
Oh, and what did I say the score would be when they took on that big, bad UMass program last weekend. I missed calling the exact score by a field goal or something, so there!
Now, if you did read that UConn vs UMass article last weekend, I told you I would be covering this game and here we are. I watched a good bit of the Liberty Arkansas game, and man, they almost gave that puppy away. Liberty did what all good road teams do, and that’s shut the crowd up and keep them on their seats early. It was 21 – 3 Liberty at halftime, and that tells you a all you need to know about how the second half played out. When you win 21 – 19, and you had 21 first half points, you got this right?
Okay, so now the 14.5 is staring us right in the face, and as much as I hope Liberty sees a bigger challenge in the Hokies, I cannot simply use my faith in my alma mater to pick a game for me. I am one of the few that can separate my fanhood, or the rooting side of things, out the equation. What the hell I am rooting for to happen means squadoosh!
Do I hope, hold on, do I dare dream A BOWL BID would happen this year? Wait a second, if you had UConn and BOWL in the same sentence before the year began, It was either a toilet bowl, or like a f**king ice cream cone thing you can turn into a bowl, you know what I mean?
I am amazed and thrilled to see it, but we are not going to hang with Liberty long enough to cover the line. I would love nothing more than to be like WE GOT THIS, the line is too high, and hello? THINKDOG?! WHO EJ, THINKDOG? I invented thinking dog, shut up now! The total, is too low, Liberty is not going to sit back and be like, okay guys, let’s just come to CT and enjoy the changing of the leaves.

4* Free Liberty Flames vs. UConn Huskies NCAA Betting Final Analysis:
Man, I wish! Sorry my fellow UConn alumni, but we don’t got this one! The weather could play a little bit of a factor, but I hope it only helps us get some points on the board. Hey, if UConn hangs, they are going to put up 17 points, so let Liberty grab 30+. Even if it is a low-scoring first half, I see the final score 37 – 17, if I am being honest. The 54 points is where the money is, so just go get it!
