Week 10 college football sees the Dukes and Cardinals meeting at Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday.
The Cards are favored by -7.5 points in this non-conference matchup between Sun Belt and Atlantic Coast Conference opponents.
James Madison Dukes
The Dukes will not be part of the post-season picture so there is no bowl eligibility to claim this year for James Madison. As disappointing as that may seem, things are starting to go in the wrong direction for the Dukes after a 5 – 0 start to their first campaign at FBS level.
Joining the Sun Belt Conference this season is a big boost from FCS, but I think the Dukes are about to walk into a buzz saw. Did you see what Louisville’s defense did to Wake Forest last weekend? If the Dukes watched the tape of that game, everyone in the offensive video room shit their pants, and Todd Centeio looks like he might be sitting out again too.
Centeio has been a college football quarterback since 1932, and his 90th birthday was a stellar surprise party. I was there, I know, LoL. Seriously, this is his 6th year playing the position from his years at Temple and Colorado State, so this was supposed to be his last hurrah. Going to JMU and being part of this transition hasn’t been easy, but Centeio has a 17 – 4 TD to INT ratio and his presence on the field is a must. Experience counts for so much, and he brings that and then some.
In case you hadn’t noticed, the 5 TD on the ground make his game even more versatile, and if he is not on this field against a Louisville defense? Forget about it!
Billy Atkins is not ready for prime time college football yet. If he is announced as the starter because Centeio can’t go? Empty your wallet and get to the bank so you can put a little extra on the JMU fade!
Louisville Cardinals
Did you see it? I saw it, and I was sitting here with my jaw dropped. I don’t know where you were on October 18, 1913, but I’ll assume your grandfather’s and Nana’s were running around somewhere back then. Well, Louisville scored 35 points in the 3rd quarter against Wake Forest this past Saturday afternoon, and they hadn’t done that since that date you just soaked in.
Wake Forest was up 14 – 13 going to the second half, and the Deacons were favored by a field goal expected to eventually win the game, right? Yeah, no! Nope, not happening!
It was nuts to watch that 3rd quarter unfold. The Louisville defense caused 6 turnovers in the 3rd quarter. <<< Not a typo! Overall, the Louisville defense accumulated 8 sacks and caused 8 turnovers, and I’ll also assume you saw the final score, 48 – 21. Cards Head Coach Scott Satterfield got the Gatorade bath, and the fans poured onto the field upsetting a top-10 Wake program in obnoxious fashion.
It was Satterfield’s first top-10 win, and his smile was as wide as the entire state of Kentucky wearing a towel around his neck doing the post-game interview. The player of the game? Yeah, coach said it and there was no where near just one dude to give credit for that stupidity (In a good way).
Louisville’s defense is one of the few that can actually go out and win a game, but the offense can hold their own too so where can JMU have any success? Hey, the bus ride home should be fun, so maybe they can play the license plate game together during the trip after getting shelled on Saturday by Louisville.

4* Free James Madison Dukes vs. Louisville Cardinals NCAA Betting Final Analysis:
Is that a joke? If Louisville doesn’t win this game by at least 10 points, my jaw will be as dropped as it was watching that 3rd quarter go down last weekend. I mean that was so insane and that’s a top-10 offense with Wake they made look stupider than a freshman’s underwear up the flagpole. I am sorry but I have the Cards and I have them winning big, so do what you have to do!
