Week 11 college football sees the Bucs and Cats meeting at Nippert Stadium on Friday night at 8 ET.
The Bearcats are favored by -5 points in this AAC matchup, and we have a 52 showing on the total.
East Carolina Pirates
The Pirates are getting a handful of points, but let’s be clear that covering the line is the last thing going around the Pirates locker room. Nobody near this program sees that as some kind of major insult, as they are playing a team who is 7 – 2 and at home after all.
So, who is scared? You are telling me that ECU sees this trip to Ohio as a daunting task that will be a game they can’t win? Hold on, you said what to me? Can’t win? No chance, huh?
Music… I can hear it playing in my head as the dog in my heart is screaming that this game will be one that comes right down to the final drive. I 100% agree with that, and then I saw the total at 52, which at some books came up a half-point over the last few days but i still see 52 with a little juice at most sites early in the week.
ECU is going get theirs, with a balanced attack and air assault that is formidable while ranked 17th in the land putting up 296.8 YPG. Holton Ahlers has completed 18 passes in the end zone, and the 3 picks against him sure makes that 6 to 1 ratio look lovely. However, I do have one little issue, or two, with TE Shane Calhoun and wideout Jaylen Johnson being absent on Friday night. That takes two of the top-6 receivers out of the mix, even if Isaiah Winstead is going to see the lion’s share of the tosses from Ahlers, regardless.
The big factor here is Cincy’s run game can be exposed, and that 63rd ranked run defense will have to deal with heavy doses of #2 out of the backfield. Keaton Mitchell needs 137 rush yards and 1 jaunt to pay dirt to be a 1,000-yard rusher and a double-digit touchdown maker. Boom! Count on it, because the lad is going to have a day, and he better if ECU plans on making this road trip worth it.
Cincinnati Bearcats
Welcome to Ohio in November, and The Cats will certainly take any chill in the air or moisture they can find to hope and throw off the Pirates offense. As I said though, any weather we could see isn’t going to stop Keaton Mitchell from coming out of the ECU backfield with a head of steam and bad intentions.
So, we do know they just both played Central Florida over the last couple of weeks, and if folks dig on the common opponent stuff, Cincy just lost a 5-point game to the Knights to end October, and ECU kicked UCF in the teeth. the week before that.
Take that for what it is worth to you, but let me say this. I took this game because I loved the close-game factor here and a few other things I have in mind.
Cincinnati has taken 10 of the last 11 meetings with the Pirates, although the Bearcats are a far cry from playing Alabama for a National title this season either. Remember, the last time Cincy saw the field last season, this team came out of the American to be a playoff program, and man, the AAC is going to look so different in about 8 months, right?
Anyway, when I thought about the potential score, all I could feel was 27 – 27 so I knew if the line setters gave me anything I can jump on, I will do just that. When I saw that 52 on Sunday night at -115? I knew by the time I would write this up that I wasn’t going to be lucky enough to still have it there.
As you can look for yourself, Pinnacle is showing -114 for the Over 52 straight, so if you have that bookmaker? First of all F**k You, I live in the USA and I miss that book more than my childhood blanket, LoL! Secondly, at -114, my goodness, since it’s election time lets just say VOTE YES ON THE OVER 52!
You like your money, and you need it now. JG Wentworth can’t help us on the gridiron, so just go get it yourself!

4* Free ECU Pirates vs. Cincinnati Bearcats NCAA Betting Final Analysis:
27 – 27, going to Overtime! 54 on the board with extra football to come, and to be honest, it might be 27 – 27 going to the 4th quarter. I am not concerned with how or when they get there, it’s just a matter of YES THEY WILL!
Cats win it 45 – 44 when they go for 2 in the second Overtime, after they both scored TDs in the opening OT to get there!
