2026 NCAAF Handicapping – Central Michigan Chippewas vs Eastern Michigan Eagles
Here’s why I’m backing an UNDER bet below in my Chippewas Eagles free pick & gambling prediction for this matchup.
Chippewas vs. Eagles Gameday
Wednesday night MACtion brings Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan to Ford Field in Detroit on November 4, 2026. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM ET on ESPN2.
Central Michigan enters at 3-5 overall and 1-3 in MAC play under Matt Drinkall. The Chippewas have lost three straight and are still looking for their first road victory.
Both Michigan rivals need this one, and neither has played well enough to take anything for granted.
Eastern Michigan stands at 4-5 and 3-2 in conference play under Chris Creighton. The Eagles have dropped two consecutive games, including a 24-20 loss at Ohio.
This is the 104th meeting between these programs, with Central Michigan holding a 64-32-6 series advantage. The Chippewas won last year’s matchup 24-13 and have taken five of the previous seven.
Neither team is ranked, and both remain in the bowl hunt. A rivalry game indoors in November? At least the weather can’t ruin the football.
It’s Week 10, Central Michigan Chippewas vs. Eastern Michigan Eagles, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Central Michigan Chippewas vs. Eastern Michigan Eagles Odds & Previous Games
Eastern Michigan opened as a 1.5-point favorite, with the Eagles at -118 on the moneyline and Central Michigan at -102. The total opened at 46.5 and has since moved to 44.5.
Central Michigan is 1-4 over its last five games, losing to Miami (OH) 28-27, Western Michigan 21-14, Ohio 31-14 and Miami (FL) 52-3. Its lone victory came against Akron, 41-17.
Eastern Michigan has won three of its previous five, beating Akron, Massachusetts and Lindenwood. The Eagles followed those victories with defeats against Toledo 34-14 and Ohio 24-20.
The teams have traded victories in recent years. Eastern Michigan won 38-34 in 2024 and 38-19 in 2022, while Central Michigan took the 2023 meeting 26-23 and the 2021 contest 31-10.

Eagles Stats
Eastern Michigan has scored 192 points through nine games, averaging 21.3 per contest. The Eagles have accumulated 1,917 passing yards and 974 rushing yards, with the ground game providing considerably less production.
Amareon Blue leads the rushing attack with 405 yards and three TDs. Braydon Bennett has added 280 yards, while Joey Mattord has contributed another 265.
Defensively, Eastern Michigan has allowed 231 points, averaging 25.7 per game. The Eagles rank third in the MAC against the run but last against the pass.
Eastern Michigan can make running difficult, but its secondary has given opposing quarterbacks opportunities.
Creighton’s team has struggled to finish games recently. Against Ohio, the Eagles had a chance to take the lead late but came away empty.
Chippewas Stats
Central Michigan has scored 143 points through eight games, averaging 17.9 per contest. The Chippewas have allowed 207 points, making offensive production their biggest concern.
The passing attack has produced 978 yards compared with 1,362 rushing yards. That imbalance reflects an offense that has relied heavily on its running game.
Jayden Clerveaux leads the backfield with 271 rushing yards and two TDs. Nick Woodford has contributed 135 yards and three scores.
Langston Lewis has collected 379 receiving yards and two TDs, but his availability has been affected by a suspension. Tommy McIntosh is also sidelined with a knee injury.
Central Michigan’s defense has been more competitive, allowing just 180.1 passing yards per game. However, injuries have ruled out Xavier White and James Reinbold for the remainder of the season.
The Chippewas forced two turnovers and recorded four sacks against Miami (OH). Drinkall needs that defensive effort to continue if his team is going to finish the season strong.
Chippewas vs. Eagles QB Matchup
Eastern Michigan quarterback Noah Kim has thrown for 1,678 yards and 11 TDs, but his status remains uncertain after missing the Ohio game with an undisclosed injury.
Brogan McCaughey started in his absence, completing 27 of 39 passes for 197 yards, one TD and one interception. He nearly led a fourth-quarter comeback.
McCaughey gives the Eagles an experienced alternative, although Kim has been their primary passing threat. A final decision on the starter remains important.
Central Michigan lost Angel Flores to a season-ending ankle injury. Flores had thrown for 475 yards and two TDs before being sidelined.
Jadyn Glasser has taken over as the Chippewas’ starting quarterback. He completed 18 of 31 passes for 221 yards and one TD against Miami (OH), delivering Central Michigan’s highest passing total of the season.

Glasser has 463 passing yards, two TDs and three interceptions this season. His more balanced passing approach gives Central Michigan a different look than it had with Flores.
Eastern Michigan must prepare for Glasser’s passing ability, while Central Michigan needs to account for whichever quarterback Creighton sends onto the field.
Central Michigan Chippewas vs. Eastern Michigan Eagles bottom line: Glasser’s emergence gives Central Michigan another offensive dimension, but Eastern Michigan’s quarterback decision could determine how this rivalry unfolds.

Chippewas Eagles Free Pick: Under 44.5
Here is my Chippewas Eagles free pick: I’m betting Under 44.5 Wednesday night at Ford Field. Central Michigan has stayed under in 8 of its last 12 games, and this number has already attracted enough under money to move down from 46.5.
Eastern Michigan is better equipped to defend the run than the pass, but Central Michigan hasn’t shown it can consistently exploit that weakness. Long possessions that end with field goals won’t hurt my feelings.
Neither offense deserves the benefit of the doubt when every touchdown has to be earned.
I’m looking for a deliberate first half, limited explosive plays and two coaches unwilling to hand away possessions in a tight rivalry game.
There’s no need to complicate this one. I’ll take the ugly drives, the punts and the clock that keeps moving. My money’s on Under 44.5.
