Arizona State Sun Devils vs. Texas A&M Aggies Odds & Last 5
Texas A&M is a heavy home favorite, with the Aggies laying around 14 to 14.5 points. Arizona State is priced near +475 on the moneyline, while Texas A&M is around -700. The total opened at 51.5 and has dipped to around 50.5 at some books.
The matchup is a dramatic step up in competition for both teams.
Arizona State scored 70 points and generated 681 yards against Morgan State, while Texas A&M rolled up 505 yards against Missouri State. The Aggies were even more dominant defensively, surrendering only 67 yards and three first downs before their starters were removed.
Aggies Stats
Texas A&M couldn’t have asked for much more from its defense in the opener. The Aggies shut out Missouri State 50-0, limited the Bears to 67 total yards and recovered two fumbles. Missouri State managed only three first downs before Texas A&M began emptying its bench.
Marcel Reed handled the starting quarterback duties efficiently.
Reed completed 21 of 30 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. He connected with 10 different receivers, giving the Aggies plenty of options without needing one target to dominate the game.
Rueben Owens II led a deep rushing attack.
Owens carried 17 times for 77 yards, while Texas A&M finished with 236 yards on the ground. Carsyn Baker, Jamarion Morrow and Terry Bussey each scored rushing touchdowns, helping the Aggies control the second half.
Isaiah Horton led the receivers with 76 yards and a touchdown on four catches. Mario Craver added five receptions for 41 yards and another score, while backup quarterback Brady Hart threw a fourth-quarter touchdown after Reed’s night was finished.

Sun Devils Stats
Arizona State’s rebuilt offense made an immediate statement against Morgan State. The Sun Devils finished with 681 total yards, averaged 9.3 yards per play and scored 70 points, tying the second-highest total in program history.
Cutter Boley’s Arizona State debut was the headline.
The Kentucky transfer completed 21 of 27 passes for 387 yards and six touchdowns without an interception. All of that damage came in a little more than one half before the Sun Devils turned the game over to their reserves.
Arizona State also produced plenty on the ground.
Nine players combined for 249 rushing yards and four touchdowns, with Kyson Brown leading the team with 80 yards on only five carries. Brown opened the scoring with a 46-yard touchdown run, while Marquis Gillis, David Avit and Jason Brown Jr. also reached the end zone.
Reed Harris caught six passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns, while Omarion Miller added eight receptions for 102 yards and a score. Defensively, Arizona State limited Morgan State to 188 total yards and only 86 through the air.

Sun Devils vs. Aggies QB Matchup
Cutter Boley and Marcel Reed both enter Saturday after clean season debuts. Neither threw an interception, but they reached that result in different ways against opponents that offered little resistance.
Boley immediately showed why Arizona State handed him the starting job.
He threw six touchdown passes in his Sun Devils debut and produced the most passing yards ever by an Arizona State quarterback in his first game with the program. Now comes a much different challenge against a Texas A&M defense that barely allowed Missouri State to move the football.
Reed brings considerably more experience into the matchup.
The senior is coming off a 2025 season in which he led Texas A&M to the College Football Playoff, and his Week 1 performance required little risk. Reed completed 70 percent of his passes while distributing the football to 10 receivers.
Both quarterbacks also have running games capable of taking pressure off them. That could become especially important at Kyle Field, where Boley will be making his first road start for Arizona State against a top-10 opponent.
Arizona State Sun Devils vs. Texas A&M Aggies bottom line: Arizona State brings an explosive new passing attack into its first road test, while Texas A&M counters with an experienced quarterback, a deep running game and a defense coming off a dominant shutout.

Sun Devils Aggies Free Pick: Under 51.5
Here is my Sun Devils Aggies free pick: I’m playing Under 51.5 at Kyle Field. Both offenses exploded against overmatched openers, but this matchup is a major jump in defensive quality.
Texas A&M allowed Missouri State only 67 total yards in its 50-0 shutout. Arizona State was nearly as comfortable defensively, holding Morgan State to 188 yards and seven points.
Those Week 1 scores don’t automatically point me toward another shootout.
Both defenses dominated their openers, and this matchup should demand much more patience offensively.
Cutter Boley was spectacular in his Arizona State debut, but facing the Aggies in College Station is a completely different assignment. Texas A&M has the personnel to make him work underneath rather than live on explosive plays.
The total has also slipped from its opening number.
Marcel Reed was efficient against Missouri State, completing 21 of 30 passes, but Texas A&M doesn’t need to play fast here. The Aggies ran for 236 yards, giving them a way to control possession and keep the clock moving. That can also limit Boley’s opportunities.
Arizona State has a similar option after rushing for 249 yards against Morgan State. I expect both teams to lean on balance before taking unnecessary chances.
I’ll trust the defenses to keep this from turning into a track meet. Give me Under 51.5.
