So which Studs are locks for a big week? Let’s take a look at the top 5 Fantasy Tight End plays for Week 7.
1. Antonio Gates, Chargers
vs. Oakland Raiders
The Raiders have not been great defensively all season long – they have been particularly susceptible against Tight Ends – six TDs allowed against opposing Tight Ends so far this year.

Gates has played two games this year and has caught nine balls in each – expect similar numbers again Sunday.
With Philip Rivers throwing it all over the park and with the rapport Gates and Rivers have, it is almost impossible not to envision a huge game here.
I like Gates to hit his season average of about 95 yards this week with upside and to score on one of his 8-10 grabs.
2. Greg Olsen, Panthers
Vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Olsen continues to be the most productive pass catcher for the undefeated Panthers – by far. I expect that to continue this week – he has averaged over 10 targets per game in the last four.
He went over 130 yards for the second time in four games last week and scored along the way. He’s a beast and is easily a top 3 option this week.
3. Rob Gronkowski, Patriots
vs. NY Jets
Gronk is not #1 this week! Shocking. It has as much to do with New York’s defense than Gronk’s abilities. Everyone on the Patriots will have a slightly tougher Sunday.

That said Gronk is still the best in the game by a large margin and he does have some guy named Tom Brady throwing him the ball.
If there is a week to avoid Gronkowski this may be it but doing so will be defying the Fantasy Gods and you don’t want to do that! I say he’s still good for 60 yards and a TD this week!
4. Travis Kelce, Chiefs
vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Chiefs may be without Jeremy Maclin this week after he sustained a concussion in Week 6 leaving Kelce as the most reliable pass catcher on the team – by a mile.
Although he is sure to see some extra attention I have faith that his extra targets will translate to some Fantasy success this week. He had 88 yards on five grabs last week – I am expecting similar numbers this week to go along with a TD.
Kelce has been consistently good all season – no reason to think differently about this week.
5. Jimmy Graham, Seahawks
vs. SF 49ers
The Seahawks have been inconsistent in their use of Jimmy Graham this year – hopefully last week’s 12 targets and 140 yards opened the Seattle coach’s eyes! Graham is a difference maker – only if he is properly used.

San Francisco has one of the worst secondaries in the game – Graham is an enormous mismatch for this squad.
Graham is a risk/reward play this week with the reward being much greater than the risk. I’m expecting 80 yards and a TD this week for Mr. Graham.
