Dave B’s Fantasy 5 Defense – DST Rankings – DFS
Defenses continue to be difference-makers in Fantasy. If you can get a good performance out of your defense it will take some pressure off the rest of your position players.
Getting a four-point dud from the Dolphins last week certainly didn’t help my cause last week!

There are definitely some juicy matchups for some elite D’s out there – ones that should reward owners with a bonanza of points.
Which D/ST is most likely to get 20 points for your Fantasy squad?
Let’s take a look at the top 5 Fantasy D/ST plays for Week 3.
1. Seattle Seahawks
vs. Chicago Bears
You almost have to feel sorry for the Bears in this one. They are 0-2 and just lost their starting QB for a few weeks.
They march into Seattle to play a scorned 0-2 team that gets a pissed off and motivated Kam Chancellor back! It is Seattle’s first home game of the season – bet on them being amped.
It’s going to be a long day for Jimmy Claussen and company indeed – expect Seattle to regain form and to be Fantasy’s #1 defense this week. After all Alshon Jeffery may not play this week – yikes!
2. Denver Broncos
vs. Detroit Lions
The Broncos have been very good on defense so far (4 Ints and 6 sacks so far) – they have yet to allow a passing TD and haven’t surrendered over 191 yards passing in either of their games so far.
Matt Stafford is banged up and largely ineffective right now – it plays right into the hands of Denver.
Aqib Talib should be able to slow Calvin Johnson and the pass rush with DeMarcus Ware should be able to terrorize Stafford. Denver has won because of defense this year – expect that trend to continue in Week 2.
3. Arizona Cardinals
vs. San Francisco 49ers
It’s pretty hard to trust San Francisco’s offense right now and it is easy to rely on Arizona’s defense. Sure San Francisco put up some yards last week but that was in garbage time – when the game was already out of reach.
Arizona has had San Francisco’s number – I like that trend to continue as the Cards get up early and force the 49ers into a few huge mistakes. A Defensive TD isn’t out of the question here as Colin Kaepernick is forced to throw just to keep up!
4. Houston Texans
vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Welcome to the pros Jameis Winston – have you met JJ Watt? Expect Winston to struggle mightily against the best defense he’s ever faced. The Texans will be a hungry bunch – hoping to get their first win of the season and trying to make a big statement in the still wide-open AFC South.
They held Jamaal Charles to 57 yards and the secondary hasn’t allowed more than 57 yards to any opposing wide receiver so far. It could get ugly for the Bucs as the Texans feast on the rookie QB.
5. New York Jets
vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Did anyone watch the Eagles last week? The Jets corners Darrell Revis and Antonio Cromartie are the best at their jobs and the Jets haven’t allowed more than 57 yards to any opposing running back so far.
Just two TDs have been scored on this defense – they are a true shut-down unit. Philadelphia looks awful offensively and the Jets look terrific. It is a recipe for a tremendous day for New York’s D/ST.
