For those of you still battling there is a number of quality Running Back matchups for you to exploit – ones that could single-handedly be able to take you over the top this week.
So which Running Backs fall into that category? Let’s take a look at the top 5 Fantasy Football Running Back plays for Week 15.
1. Adrian Peterson, Vikings
After two straight sub-standard games against two of the best defenses in the game Peterson gets a little relief this week in the form of the Chicago Bears who have been gashed but the run all season long. He has 6 TDs in his last 6 games and should be in line for his usual 25-30 touches at home this week. AP is ready to explode and against a team he had 103 yards against in the first meeting this season, I am expecting just that this week. 125 yards and a TD on the ground to go along with 2-3 catches for another 25 yards through the air is certainly a reasonable expectation.
2. Todd Gurley, Rams
Gurley put himself right back on the Fantasy radar last week with 140 yards and 2 TDs against the Lions last week. This week he draws a pretty weak Tampa Bay run defense on Thursday night. Quite simply – he is all the Rams have on offense right now and HAS to produce just to keep this game close. Expect Gurley to get his share of touches again this week and to absolutely go off in a terrific matchup. 100 yards and a TD are easily attainable along with 2-3 catches for another 40 yards.
3.Jeremy Hill, Bengals
With the loss of Andy Dalton in the Bengals offense expect them to lean on the run heavily this week against a horrendous San Francisco defense. Hill should be the first RB out of the gate – he seems to have seized the #1 role from Gio Bernard the last few weeks and has produced in that role. Hill will get a ton of chances this week for sure – expect 100 or so yards and a TD, maybe 2 as the Bengals beat down the hapless 49ers.
4.David Johnson, Cardinals
Johnson is in line for the lion’s share of touches out of the Cardinals backfield again this week – with the injuries there is virtually zero competition for touches. In a game against the Eagles that should feature its share of points Johnson is a good bet to score to go along with 100 or so yards rushing. He should also add some catches out of the backfield as well. He has 2 straight games over 110 yards combines – I like him to stretch that streak to 3 this week!
5.Doug Martin, Bucs
Martin has scored in two straight games and has found another gear as the season winds down. He has been good for about 85 yards each week lately and should be able to get that this week at home against the Rams. Martin is heavily featured in an emerging offense against a St. Louis that is crumbling before our very eyes. In a decimated RB pool, Martin looks as reliable as they come right now.
